Funny, I don't really see much human "intelligence" in evidence...  :wacko:

More seriously, though, I find it statistically unlikely for intelligent life to have arisen on only one of the umpteen trillion planets that are out there. We're here [citation needed], so it's a fair bet other intelligent life exists out there somewhere. However, the chances of 1. us coming across another such entity in the vastness of space and 2. that we'd even be similar enough to each other to recognise what we'd found as A. a lifeform and B. intelligent in the way we are, probably approaches zero.

 

tl;dr - I think it's out there, I don't think we'll encounter it on any rational timescale.
