Okay, because I was late to the Applejack victory party, lemme just revel in that for a second.

 

 

Sorry Rainbow Dash, but it seems AJ is the Iron Pony this time.

 

I'm just disappointed that the Dash fans had no presence in what was really a boring and shockingly one-sided match. Not only was there a lack of votes for Dashie, but there wasn't a lot of passionate supporters spamming pictures or ranting about what makes her the best pony either. It just wasn't fun, and that's surprising given what a hot ticket she was when she breezed through all opposition last year. Is Dashie really having that bad of a season? I must confess that out of all of the Mane Six ponies this season, RD and Twilight have been the least impressive to a lot of fans, and to see the two of them get punched out first seems to reflect that. I don't want to throw anymore salt in Dashie's wound though. She's an amazing character who deserves every ounce of love that she gets and much more. Her loss to Applejack doesn't take anything away from her greatness. She'll do better in the World Cup, I'm sure.

 

Now as for the matchup at hand... I'm just gonna kick back and watch the Pinkie pack and Derpy brigade quarrel over who the better pony is. After all, I have to save my energy for AJ's match tomorrow!

 

 

Actually, without too much hesitation I can safely say that I'm on Pinkie Pie's side here. I'm sorry Batbrony, I really am. Derpy Hooves is my favorite background pony and probably somewhere on my top 15 overall (hey, that's progress considering I used to hate her in a typical AJ fan fashion).

 

But Pinkie Pie went from one of my least favorite Mane Six ponies to perhaps one of my top three favorites. Heck, after Pinkie Apple Pie, she immediately jumped up to second favorite for a while. And Pinkie Pride made me love the pony in ways that I never expected to. While some of her secondary roles this season still have her coming off as slightly flanderized, I don't think that her character has declined as badly as some say. No, I think season 4 has been very beneficial to Pinkie overall. And sure, Pinkie Pie might already have a tournament victory under her hoof, but I always side with the Mane Six. Sorry Derpy, you had a good run but your time is up. Cakes are better than muffins anyway.

To be fair, I love all of the Mane 6, even Rainbow Dash who I really didn't like in the start if the show.

 

When I tarted watching, these were the Mane 6 in order of my love for them:

Pinkie Pie

Fluttershy

Rarity

Applejack

Twilight Sparkle

Rainbow Dash

 

Now, after watching all of Season 1 and episodes 1-8 of Season 2, my order has changed:

Pinkie Pie

Applejack/Rarity (Tie)

Twilight Sparkle/Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash (Tie)

 

And I also love the Cutie Mark Crusaders but that's not relevant here.
