Anypony else thought that Seabreeze was female?

Now, when I first saw the new episode yesterday, I thought Seabreeze was female, assuming that many other breezies have long eyelashes and high-pitched voices, but when Fluttershy called Seabreeze a he, I eventually found out that Seabreeze was male, not female (which is also evidenced that he had a wife and a child). I know that Seabreeze was voiced by Brian Drummond (which his voice was high pitched from the sound effects), but has anyone else mislead Seabreeze for female due to his long eyelashes and his appearance?

Oh yeah. I was bloody confused the first time Fluttershy referred to him as a male. The appearance was a large part of it, and the because of the sound effects, the voice doesn't offer any hint as it normally would. Even the name "Seabreeze" does not give it away. I absolutely thought he was female.

I was definitely confused. I thought all the breezies were female. I really couldn't tell that Sea Breeze was a male.

Yep, very confusing. I simply couldn't tell, there were absolutely no sign of him being male.

Yeah, I thought 'he' was a 'she'. The long eyelashes and that pink mane color certainly didn't help in the slightest. Plus, that bright pink eye color. His voice sounded a bit deeper to me than the other breezies but I didn't think anything of it.

Yeah, I also thought Seabreeze was female at first. I mean, the Breezies still had a vague enough pony shape and Seabreeze has all the indicators of being female as far as ponies are concerned with the eyelashes and mare like muzzle shape. When Fluttershy referred to him as male, I was like "Wait...Seabreeze is a guy?!"

It caught me off guard as well. The first thing that came to mind when Fluttershy reffered to him as a he was "Wait...THAT THING'S A GUY!?!?"

Yup I felt the same way, wish there was a bit of differences between males and females like they did with the pony characters. You know? Stallions don't have eyelashes but thick eyebrows or firm boxer snouts.

But I'm not shocked at everyone's assumption that he was female either.

 

But seriously, I know it's common in cartoons, but eyelashes do not equal female. I saw someone on Youtube ask why someone "made Spitfire a guy" in their art. They didn't "make her a guy" they just didn't draw the obvious eyelashes.

 

And they're not ponies. They're a small, delicate, fairy-race.

If all their species are dainty and have long eyelashes, then hey, that's just how they are.

If all their species are dainty and have long eyelashes, then hey, that's just how they are.

 

Sadly, one may never know the difference, just like Pyro from TF2. Plus, Seabreeze's appearance, aside that he is a breezy, has different characteristics of a female.

That was my thought too.  Those breezies are a strange species to say the least. 

 

I wonder what Big Mac and Shining Armor would look like as breezies?

I actually thought he was a male, based on his personality and behavior. His voice sounded slightly masculine, even though it was sped up.

Also, the fact that he "curses" like a sailor, and that they called him a he.

Except in MLP:FiM male ponies never have eyelashes.  That is part of the confusion.

 

And yes, I too was confused and I thought it was a scripting error because I had only remembered once when Fluttershy referred to Seabreeze as male.  Now, one had pointed out that it is actually consistent with the actual ponies in that male ponies have circular eyes while females have more oval-shaped eyes, but that's sometimes hard to tell when one has too many other things bombarding their senses.  (And as it turned out, there were multiple times Fluttershy referred to Seabreeze as male).

 

Oh well, better pay more attention.

Yes, I was so confused when everyone was saying he.  I thought it was just a mistake at first, then they kept saying it and I realized he was a guy.  But the eyelashes, pink mane, rounded muzzle and voice really threw me off....
