Blue and Pink: The Gender Colours

After watching SaberSpark's video about parents and people reacting to use, one thing intrueged me the most: The blue and pink of our gender. By that i mean that in any shop it is a standard that blue is for boys and pink for girls. So it got me thinking:If Hasbro made the boxes if mlp blue and pink, would it be more accepted and also, is that the reason boys,in my perspective, like Rainbow so much?

Fun Fact : In the early 1900's Pink was the gender color for boys and Blue for Girls later changed some think around 1950's.

 

Also I think many guys share a liking towards RD because she's a Tomboy and in a way not a girly girl pony some guys can feel comfortable liking., imo.

I don't think changing the colours of the boxes now would change anyone's mind now.

 

About RD being more accepted by males because she's blue (must resist urge to link "I'm blue" by Eiffel 65)

As the user above stated she's a tomboy and therefore is accepted more by males because they feel more comfortable with her than other ponies.

Color is a strong gender cue programmed into most by society, I'll agree, but I don't think it has much to do with Rainbow Dash's popularity.

It wouldn't matter to me if Hasbro changed the color of the boxes, I would buy the toys anyway! To answer your second question, my favorite pony is Twilight and it isn't just her color that makes me like her. Rainbow is a tomboy and that makes her more relatable to most guys.
