movies/tv Why are people obsessed with Frozen?

I know Frozen is a great movie, I saw it myself and I loved it.

However, the fanbase has gotten out of hand to where half of the fanbase or more is obsessed with it, and it bugs me to death.

Can some explain why?

Because I can. :3
Lol it's a good movie! The songs get stuck in your head, and despite some questionable landmarks it's really really original and put together. :)

I don't know.

Tangled was a better movie, and it didn't get much of a fan base.

Don't get me wrong. Frozen was a great movie, but Tangled was a better one.

I've seen it four times, at the cinemas. I loved it every time.
It was simply a really well done and entertaining movie. The characters and story were excellent, the animation was perfect, and the music was simply divine. I've never enjoyed a Disney movie as much as that. Never.

Well, maybe Wall-E.

Le Hype train. It is a very well made movie, but it gets a massive amount of praise. So you praise it to fit in with the hoards of others praising it. And then they praise it to fit in with those hoards praising it. And the effect snowballs more quickly due to the fact that the movie is pretty damn decent,so there is less resistance to the snowball praise effect.

I did like Frozen as well...but I think Brave was a little better in my humble opinion.

I dunno, when a great movie comes out, they tend to have fanbases. I think any good movies do. I always see a lot of Hunger games, Marvel (Like Captain America or Thor EVERYWHERE), etc.

It does not really bother me, for I liked the movie. If I disliked it, It would probably bother me.

Lion king was still better!!

I was honestly about to say this xD I still love me my Lion King. :3

It's a great movie, it's new, and I think most of all it's very relatable. Elsa's struggle is something that a ton of people resonated with, for a ton of different reasons. Let it Go isn't just good, it provides a musical catharsis and an anthem. Anna is quite possibly the most "average" princess Disney's ever given us, she's awkward and has flaws and doesn't meet the man of her dreams and just fall head over heels and live happily ever after. And strong female characters? This fandom more than any has reason to understand why that makes for some obsessable media :D

Thank you. Just thank you. -sniff-

There will never be anything like traditional animation.

I'm probably going to get shunned for this but. That snowman is just so unappealing to me.

Because they like it, and when people like things, they can get very obsessive about it. I'm sure many people can relate to the characters because they were very realistically done. Just let people be, they will like what they like.

Olaf is really annoying.... but if you think about it, his naivity was spot on that it was just silly, and although I think he should have been in short films or something rather than Frozen I probably wouldn't have changed much of it.

I really have no idea. The plot line is really messed up. Think about it. The country's main export is ice, but they are angry that the entire country is in perpetual winter.

The main characters (Minus Anna): Anna's sister elsa, a merchant, a hot guy, and a snowman

The main villains: Anna's sister else, a merchant, a hot guy, and a snowman

I think that best developed character in the film was the swedish merchant.

But thats just an opinion.

I watched Frozen (pretty much against my own free will) with 4 of my friends who've watched it 50 times before and have insisted it was God's gift to Earth. I sat down, trying to forget how much the movie has been ruined for me by how much of the internet was saturated with it, trying WITH ALL MY HEART to give it a fair chance...But the entire movie was godawful; cliched, cringeworthy at parts, and the characters (if you really think about it) are complete carbon copies of pretty much anything ever made (the non-ice power sister and the love interest...Lea and Han Solo, anyone?). I did not smile, not. Even. Once. And that is this movie's greatest sin.

That unplanned pregnancy is going to need quite the clean-up. But it was either that or Despicable Me 2 for the Oscars, and DM2 sucked some heinous a$$.

I really am not trolling or anything.

I, as a movie lover, was insulted by the level it sometimes stooped for a cheap laugh or D'aww-worthy scene.

GG, can't wait for the next Disney movie to come out in another 2 years and for a fandom to develop over it.

The cold never bothered me anyway... B)

Ok, seriously though. It had amazing and funny characters, an interesting storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat, witty and humors moments. Catchy songs (especially Let It Go), and a satisfying conclusion.

It's sad that Tangled didn't get the amount of attention Frozen had received. (I might even say Frozen is overrated) Both Frozen and Tangled are amazing movies. :)

I have to ask. Are you having some fun with us? I mean really. A BRONY is complaining about a cartoon's fan-base being too obsessed?
