do you think we will get "That episode"

Where do ponies come from?

Puberty

This is not such educational program, leave this subject to parents and teachers in school.

Moms breast feeding kids.

To show what? It's really so necessary to make episode showing/telling about this?

LGBT

Politics

Don't you think that it's already enough of this in the media? Or even too much?

Do you know why most people begin to hate those things? Because others aggressively attack them with such topics everywhere they can.

I just love MLP as it is, especially because it's free from such subjects.

The show already provides really a lot of other valuable subjects and related lessons. So what's the problem?

I see commercials for the intended female audience. These girls look like they're 10-12 years old. So even though younger girls watch the show. You think we will get "that episode" the one that has a topic that we need to know as kids growing up in life. Kids have questions that pertain to the episode topics.

You think the show can subtly pull these topics off?

  1. Never going to happen.
  2. Even-less-likely-than-never going to happen.
  3. Hopefully, we'll see the CMC mature.  However, they will not focus on puberty.
  4. No way.  Too confusing for little kids.  Plus, it will confirm for many anti-bronies that bronies are gay.
  5. I'd love to see a two-parter in the future where political unrest arises due to Celestia/Luna rule.  Beyond that, politics are off limits, especially introducing political ideologies.

Regardless, I don't think a show for little girls should get into topics as serious as this.  That belongs to parents, and if not parents, then schools.  Sexual topics should be strictly prohibited in MLP.

There's absolutely no reason to do an episode on any of these things. I'm not against the topics being discussed on television, even on a children's show. I just don't think there's any reason for this particular show to tackle them. But since mlp is supposed to go on for another five years, maybe It'll happen, and hey it might be a good episode if it ever does.

Twilight is best pony.

No.

No.

No. Although a pony getting their cutie mark is considered some form of puberty I think.

Doubtful.

Perhaps, I could maybe see that happening. Although I doubt the younger audience would get what's going on.

People watch this show for entertainment and to learn the "Magic of Friendship". Not the magic of growing up or having kids.

1. Literally covered it in babycakes.

2. Not happening, they already showed that in Babycakes, they drink out of a bottle.

3. I believe that one receiving their Cutie Mark, is a sign of maturity. It may not be the same as puberty in our world but come on... their ponies, they are nowhere close to having the same properties and rules as our world.

4. Maybe one day, but VERY subtly.

5. I don't know how you all missed this, but politics was subtly already done. Even in episode 1, however it became more in depth in season 4. Celestia was the ruler of the sun and all things day, Luna was the ruler of the moon and all things night. Luna wanted others to like her night because she thought others hated it. She tried to overthrow Celestia so it would become eternal night. However Celestia was able to stop her and "Banish" Luna to the moon... Also not to mention that Ponyvilles mayor is literally named "The Mayor", lol.

I think if they did a LGBT episode it would be a bit like, "Been there, seen that." There are sooooo many mare-mare ships and a smaller number of stallion-stallion ships that I'm not sure what the point at this point would be. I think younger viewers follow along with the fandom to a certain extent so I think everyone is pretty much comfortable with it at this point. ^_^

Also, they kinda technically did open the door a bit to canonizing same-sex relationships when RD exclaimed she was "defending Fluttershy's honor" in "Cutie Mark Chronicles." Kind of a shippy thing for a character to say, IMO. ;)

(Though Sparity will always be my OTP! :D )

1. Mrs Cake giving birth and perhaps Cadence getting pregnant and giving birth at some point are probably the closest we are ever going to get to that. And they didn't even show any of the birth scene with Mrs Cake, it was all implied. Any deliberate mention of sex is going to make a lot parents very angry, the only place we will have that is some fanfics and fanart.

2. Ponies do have nipples but don't exactly what human breasts, so even if the unease people feel about that wasn't a factor they probably wouldn't do it because it might confuse alot of the really young kids. The ponies nipples are pretty right near their crotch while human breasts are pretty much extra fat and occasionally milk stored in the chest.

3. We kind of have something similar to that with the cutie marks but the closest we have had so far is Spikes crush on Rarity and it dosen't seem like puberty has hit him yet and innocent crushes like that are probably the closest we will get.

4. That would be an even bigger bombshell than sex in general, nope.

5. That one is a big maybe, I can see several ways they could do in a non partisan way that points out the complete and total absurdity of the political process without necessarily favoring one side or the other with minimal risk of controversy. The question is will they do it? Probably not, in the episode Ponyville Confidential it did point out just how dishonest and sleazy the news media can often be by sensationalizing stories, rumor mongering and hinting a bit at the celebrity infotainment culture.

Never, never, maybe, never, and they already failed at it. This show actually failed at doing its big "issue" episodes, I used this analysis video before to prove that point and I will again.

If you want a kids' show that deals with those kinds of issues, I think you might be in the wrong place. That's best left to newer, unproven shows that are not chained to established franchises or companies like Hasbro with toy-first, play-it-safe agendas, as they have nothing to lose but everything to gain. Sesame Street made waves as an unknown newcomer to what was then NET in the 70s by being the first show of its kind to have an integrated, multiracial cast, then it made specials dealing with issues that even this show won't touch, including disaster recovery and the d-word, if you know what I mean. They even have an entire page dedicated to the latter: http://www.sesamestreet.org/parents/topicsandactivities/topics/grief . All of that from a show aimed younger than MLP that also has the duty of teaching kids their ABCs and 123s in the process.

I dunno, some of those ideas might be interesting, maybe, but I don't think the show is going to tackle those issues... at least, not openly and seriously. I just don't see it. :P

Maybe an adult satirical cartoon like King of the Hill could pull it off. MLP? As Lex Luthor would say, WRONG!

Since a lot of MLP's views revolves around kids, and IS aimed at the little girl population, it will never happen, since the target audience age is like 3-6, and they will not understand that.

1. Not needed.

2. No.

3. Well in Equestria Girls when Twilight changes bodies, it also means that her pony brain and body was magically changed to that of a person teenager girl. Natural instincts change from pony to human like attraction. Then she has to handle the flush of hormones that comes with the lusting human teenager body, which Twilight is not use too. It's basically why she crushing on the first guy she meets being Flash Sentry. In the FIM show: Twilight has been anti-social, has a brother complex, and rarely mingles with other male ponies. A girl not socially use to guys while in a new body being mixed with a cocktail of female hormones.

This is about as close as this will get to puberty.

4. The closes thing to that is Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon who have a habit of (sexually) harassing the CMC by only taunting their blank flanks. Silver Spoon wags her flank in front of Applebloom. DT and SS may just be mean or they actually have some underlying attraction towards female ponies their age.

5. I think they did with Hearth's Warming Eve. Each race had its own separate leadership.

"Baby Cakes" already addressed this a bit, though I doubt they are ever going to do a thing about the birds and the bees

Does anyone else think it's kinda weird that we have some people on this topic using "Baby Cakes" as an example on where babies come from and another half not even considering this happened?

Is it mostly because it does not truly explain where babies come from or is there another reason? Answer if you want to.

They already do Dragons and Birds come from eggs. The show also proved that food goes in mouth and comes out the other end.

Can't wait for the moment Rarity goes into labor and gives birth. She'll strangle her husband with his necktie.

1) what do you mean by where do ponies come from? I hope you don't mean by what i think you mean.

2) I don't think we will ever see a kids show where they teach about breast feeding

(Ponies only have breasts in clop images)

3) I also don't think there will be an episode about puberty. Learn that from school or parents

4) Why would they need to tell anyone about LGBT? I understand they would need know about gay and Lesbian and maybe bisexual but why transgender?

5) Why??? (Learn from school or parents)

It would be very rare that we would see an episode about any of these things because you would learn most of this at school and there are a lot of adult fans watching the show and they are aware of this and i don't think any adult would want to watch a show where they teach people about these things. Kids at the age of 10-12 would not really listen to what the episode is trying to tell them if this happened, thats the reason why there not many educationally shows for kids of that age group.

It explained the "from" but not the "how" thus it has been done.

Number 4 practically writes itself.

All you have to do is put two ponies of the same gender together every time they appear and they have to look happy. Even if the kids never question it, the parents will and all of a sudden by opening there mouths there kids suddenly know what gays and lesbians are. XD

Case in point. Lyra and Bon Bon are always together, shipped pretty much as a couple from the get go. Aloe and Lotus are also always together, sure they're sisters in the show but its like avoiding the white elephant in the room. XD

if Big Mac where  to appear in the show's background talking to the same pony often or shown next to him. Someone would assume it. Heck, its possible they show him talking with cherilee just so folks don't get any ideas about Mac's seeming lack of interest in mares. XD

Thats the problem... They would assume it and shippers would fangasm and squirm obnoxiously to no end.
