One of my favorite bands well I know they are old but hey I respect these guys a ton. If it wasn't for this band I would not be into the music I am into today at all. But unfortunately this might be the last the Young brothers will be playing.

I really, really dislike AC/DC.

It's the voices of all of the singers...it sounds like he's gargling acid, and THAT'S what's great about them?

And this is coming from a guy who listens to nothing but classic rock.

But they've had a long, eventful career.

Congrats to them.

Let There Be Rock was the first vinyl album I ever bought. It launched my entire love for music. Unfortunately, it's been 40-50 years since classic bands like AC/DC started. It's only a matter of time before they just get too old or pass away. Luckily I was able to see them a few years ago during their Black Ice tour. It was a hell of a show.

Nice I got too see em as well in 2009 at ATL. 2nd concert I have ever been too and it was amazing.... The only concert that topped it was seeing Iron Maiden live with Alice Cooper.

I saw them in KC. They had to postpone the concert because Angus fell and hurt his hand. They played us a couple extra songs to thank us for being patient. My favorite concert was Crüe Fest 2 when Godsmack completely upstaged Motley Crüe at their own show. Like The Who did to the Stones in their Rock and Roll Circus thing.

Even though I love the Rolling Stones they were really afraid of being upstaged, So afraid that they turned down the legendary Steve Marriott at an audition. :(

As for AC/DC, I will be sad to see them go, I had a lot of great memories listening to their music.

The official statement from the AC/DC official website

After forty years of life dedicated to AC/DC, guitarist and founding member Malcolm Young is taking a break from the band due to ill health. Malcolm would like to thank the group’s diehard legions of fans worldwide for their never-ending love and support.

In light of this news, AC/DC asks that Malcolm and his family’s privacy be respected during this time. The band will continue to make music.

Get well soon, Mal.

While saddening the music industry is losing a milestone in its life, AC/DC has had an AMAZING run...shame to think even Iron Maiden will be down that road sometime in the near future.

I'm pretty surprised they're going to try to continue with a new member, at their age, and they haven't replaced anybody since like the 90s.

Why is this a shocker to everyone? I mean, how old are these guys? They can't do it forever, and they've done a hell of alot. Its not like they only did stuff for a few years, they've been at it for what...4 or 5 decades?

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

Jesus, man, is there anything you do like? Seems like every time I see you post in Media Discussion, its about how X really popular thing is terrible :P

I happen to agree with you here, though. Can't stand AC/DC. But if they break up, all the rock stations will be like "better play even more AC/DC as a tribute to them". If they don't, then they continue making music. Either way, we lose :(

no, why, they are awesome. i think they should do one last tour, or go on something like x factor and do a song. maybe Highway to hell. since a lot of people watch it they would get tons of views.

Well the band has been together for years now and they are way past their prime. As much as i like them myself it would be best if they stopped now. I know a lot of people don't like acdc because they say all their staff sounds the same but there are a lot of bands that stick with a sound they like

I am a man of many hates and objects of distaste. x)

Trying to epand my horizons is hard and uncomfortable for me, and even painful at times (like when listening to AC/DC, it makes me squirrelly)...so I just tend to don't. :P

Yeh...they already play the sh*t out of "Shook me all night long" and "Back In Black"...I can only imagine radios post-AC/DC. D:
