mind elaborating? because you're just spreading FUD, like most every other Linux hater.

- FUD spreaders don't know what they're talking about.

- There are 3 types of people who use Windows 8:

Mind elaborating on what FUD means?

Anyway, what I mean is that in normal usability cases, Linux falls short. It's an excellent and robust operating system for people who program for a living, but for someone who uses a computer for a single piece of purpose-designed software, the chances of that software being on Linux are almost nil. WINE is a nice start, but it will never be perfect, and many occupations that use business oriented software cannot tolerate the degree of inaccuracy that is afforded by switching from Windows. As I said before, it is an enthusiast operating system, not a corporate or casual one. Yes, it has its merits, but I would prefer an open-source NT operating system that works on a codebase level similarly enough to Windows to allow cross-compatibility with applications that will never have a large enough UNIX userbase to be properly written for such an OS. Which brings me to another opinion of mine that is likely unpopular:

-ReactOS is more promising that Linux

Felt this should stay here:

Cell phones are dumb. I'd be fine if we went back to not using them.

I agree with this to an extent. Being able to call on the go instead of waiting until you're home and hoping to remember to call someone.

However, I don't think phones need to have all the hoo-has and whatsits it has now. There are people who live on their phone. I have a friend who is constantly on her phone regardless of what she's doing. Maybe I'm just an attention whore but when we spend time together half of whatever she's doing is staring at that phone.

Playing a game? On the phone. Watching a movie? On the phone. Doing dishes or making food? On the phone. PHONEPHONEPHONEPHONE.

This is why I don't have anything more than a calculator for a phone. (Basic Tracphone)

ANYWAY

As a console gamer most, if not all, of the hardware I get is preset. I like this.

That goes into what I'm about to say:

Hardware is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is software. But only so long as the hardware can play it without issues. Don't need the best of the best to have pretty damn good. I don't care if the framerate drops a little on this console over that one. The difference is negligible.

But for me, all of that doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is the games. It doesn't matter if the hardware requires this or that, if it's of a certain company, if they are or aren't the strongest out there...the only thing a game console is to me is a catalyst on which I get to play the games I want for it.

People who use Linux are on the fast track to becoming the next mocked "master race" gag.

They love boasting about their leet computer skills and constantly mock other people for using "lesser" OS.

My microwave is from 1992, 22 years and not a single kernel panic, imagine that! Can't argue with NAS, though I would like you to explain to me how a carburetor is running linux...

Yes, because instead of explaining it why not go the utterly pretentious route and prove what I was saying earlier.

I have honestly never even heard of anybody using a UNIX system outside of Jurassic Park.

AND WE ALL KNOW HOW THAT TURNED OUT :P

I have a Atari 2600(the old one that's marked VCS) that looked like someone dredged out of the world's nastiest attic when I bought it, but I cleaned it up and it works find.

Yet, I have a laptop I bought new in 2011 that stopped working after a year.

~Linux/Ubuntu is good, for laptops.

~Intel CPUs are overpriced for what you get.

~Macs are stupid

~Consoles are still pretty great, even if they don't have the graphics capability of a PC.

~any case fan smaller than 140mm sucks.

~Firewire was pretty great.

~SCSI drives were pretty awesome.

~Apple Products are like the CoD of tech devices.

I'm a console gamer and will be for life.

PC users who constantly boast about their superior systems are bleeding d*ckholes.

And so are console gamers who act like they're superior to other console gamers or even PC gamers and then retort with shit like "your mom" or "stfu" when countered. Those are the only people I would call "peasants" and be serious about it.

Basically, regardless of if you play on the console or PC, don't be "that" guy.

I don't care for neither the Xbox One nor the PS4 (Wii U Ftw come at me haters)

Windows 7 is legions better than Windows 8

itunes on the computer is really confusing can't we just transfer music to the ipod or iphone directly from the downloads instead of transferring and syncing?

Nintendo consoles are just as good as the other consoles even if they're slightly behind

I prefer Windows over Apple.

Google Chrome FTW

PC is just as good as consoles just not for everyone.

PS4 finally comes back into stock, I buy a Wii U.

Windows 8 (with a start menu replacement and aero glass) is better and faster than Windows 7.

That being said, I just described a newer, more optimized Windows 7. Oh well.

- Intel's process lead doesn't mean much

- Nor does Thunderbolt

- CMT is the worst decision AMD has made

- The "cat" core line is AMD's last bastion of a worthwhile CPU

- Mantle is a waste of effort that should have been put towards OpenGL

- CUDA is another waste of effort that should be put towards OpenCL

- Planar magnets are better than standard voice coils

- There isn't a decent cell phone OS available in the US

- GNU/Linux is not the best OS there is

- The BSDs are dying because they're irrelevant

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

I like Linux, but not because of any sort of programming. While my Linux system did end up slowing down for whatever reason it had a much lower tendency to lock up and crash like my Windows computers do. My laptops tend to work really hard with Windows but with Linux it barely made a sound.

I liked the interface of Linux as well. So smooth. I liked being able to lock things into the launcher and have it look like a part of the interface instead of looking like it's just taking up space like on the Windows quickstart bars. :okiedokielokie:

I would still be using Linux now if trying to do a new install of Linux worked at all. I had to uninstall my previous installation thanks to wubi and then when I got it installed...it wouldn't connect to the internet or even wouldn't let me login. The information I used for my password? Wasn't recognized. After a whole day of trying to get it to work I gave up and now I'm back on Vista (this computer came with Vista installed)

Plus, and this is a small detail, on Linux I would have many opportunities to see my background because the login screen showed my desktop's background. On Windows I have to minimize all of my windows for that to happen so it's like I don't even have a background most of the time.

I am sadface. :(
