Do you rage when you play games? When you're winning? Losing? When shit like your console turning off happens?

---

I don't rage. Generally speaking I am a very quiet gamer. Quiet contemplation of the situation and how to best deal with it.

If I ever rage it's because I was already pissed off before playing. Bad state of mind to be in when gaming as it ruins my concentration.

I used to be one, when I was younger. I had pretty bad self-esteem issues though, and I felt generally terrible whenever I failed at anything.

Nowadays, losing is part of the fun. The more challenging the better. The only game in recent memory to bring me close to raging was Super Meat Boy, and there's good reason for that.

I can get frustrated when technical issues like latency throw kinks into my gameplay (or even if they really don't I can still go on tilt because of lag). Besides that not really. I don't ever blame my teammates in games like that, I focus on my own mistakes and trying to correct them.

I only really get angry from technical issues (Looking at you BF4 launch). If my team is doing horribly, and is just a bunch of pubbies, I'll just go solo for awhile until they do better.

For non-ragers: You ever played a game with or next to a rager? It's very interesting to see the differences. I've been told my quiet, almost silent, gaming is creepy. LOL

Only time I ever rage is when it's a moment where you know there is no save option...

I'll never forget the final boss of Shadow of the Colossus. Jesus. Christ. OMG.

No not really, I'm usually pretty calm when playing video games. :D

... Unless I die in a game like, 500+ times in a row, but I usually just take a break or something before that happens. ;)

And yes I have played with 'ragers' as well, both of which were actually good friends of mine. They often got angry when they weren't doing good in a game, like Halo or CoD. Always made me laugh though. xD

I never rage when playing games with others.  I never rage at others or around others.  I'm usually very patient.  But when I'm alone at 1am fighting Theseus on Titan mode...well, I can't be held responsible for my actions!

I only rage in one situation, and that's when I'm playing competitive games at a LAN party, and that's because it throws everyone off their games. Ask anyone at my friend's birthday party about "DAVE!" in HALO. I don't get mad at teammates, and even my 'rage' is more like non-anger masked as bloodcurdling wrath.

I usually rage when I'm just doing terrible at a game or having bad day, and something shitty happens.
My friend and I love to pretend rage for each others entertainment.
I'll say something or he'll die, he'll throw the closest thing to him, hit everything and scream about shit.
I do it as well, we find it quite humorous and fun, relieves some of the stress.
We also love to do gamer stereotypes. Stoners, squeakers, swaggets, quiet guys, loud guys, etc.

Oh yeah, I rage pretty hardcore when a game keeps smacking me down with cheap difficulty. In fact, I get downright AVGN with some of the vocabulary I throw out, but I won't get all "colorful" on your eyes by typing out an example. Such language is only to be heard by unfair sections in video games...

Yes.

I...am a very competitive person.

Couple that with the fact that I only get bullsh*t and retarded team mates, and there ya go.

My friends have told me my most said phrase was "God damn it to freaking hell" and "Christ Jesus in hell".

I rage quite a bit on games. Usually it depends on the game. Also if i keep dying. I was playing Octodad Dadliest Catch and I raged quite a bit there. Good game, hilarious, but pretty rage inducing and difficult. Particularly near the end of the game.

Hell naw, I might be bad at some games but when I get my ass handed to me; I just laugh it off. Although for some reason people tend to call me an asshole on multiplayer quite a lot in fact (also funny).

I rage occasionally, but I also do it for entertainment, such as making other people in the lobby laugh so they can stop insulting each other constantly.

I don't know about all the time, though I have been known to vitriolically curse at the screen on a regular basis, especially if I'm getting my ass kicked. You don't want to be standing outside my door If a boss has killed me for the dozenth time with cheap, near-unavoidable attacks or when I was seconds away from claiming victory only to have it snatched at the last second.

Yeah, I rate all the time. But I'm starting to try and not get so angry and rage (starting today).

So I'm gonna try and play cod without raging today.

I usually just sigh and turn off my console if I'm angry. Whats the point of laying a game if it upsets you?

I don't rage when I play games. I do talk to myself though.

You and me both. It helps with reasoning skills to hear yourself talk about your reasons for doing things. Sometimes you can catch your faulty logic.

Letting it upset you is the one thing to avoid in that case. There are so many reasons to play a game so letting yourself get upset is hindering the untold wonders you can experience. Getting to a point where you have the skill to almost never get upset will help in that matter.

Of course not everyone wants to put up with the BS to get to that point, and it can take years, but if you want to enjoy a game the best way is to just get better. ;)
