Will there be a Bronycon Subforum on this website?

I was wondering if and when this question would appear. Given that BronyCan, Everfree Northwest, and BABscon all have subforums as shown below:

 

Should we expect a Bronycon subforum in the upcoming weeks, mods?

Even if a con isn't partnered with Poniverse, I think it would be a good idea for a general con subforum. Those ones have sections for us to get together for travel plans and lodging, and those are pretty important to make sure people can go to and enjoy a con. And that way, some of the smaller cons can have somewhere to be discussed.

That's what I'm thinking. I still see those isolated posts of needing a roommate for example. It'd be very helpful if there was a section where you can find a roommate.

The reason the current con forums work is because they serve as these conventions' official forums - they are monitored and promoted by con staff, and attendees from outside MLP Forums come over here to find roommates and travel buddies.

 

If a con is maintaining its own forum independently (BronyCon, for example, currently does), it makes more sense to seek con buddies there than anywhere else (including here) as a con's official forum is where you'll find everyone else who's planning to attend it. Even if we create a general con section here, people posting in it will be looking for fellow attendees going to specific conventions - that function would be best served by a con's official forum, wherever it happens to be.

 

I'd certainly be happy to accommodate more conventions here in the future, but I can't confirm or deny anything at this time.

I was just on here tonight thinking that it would be a good idea to have a BronyCon subforum. Not necessarily for room-and-ride share stuff, but as an easier way to meet people from this forum who are going to the con, organizing a meetup, etc. Even if it was for room-and-ride share-related things, it would make people more comfortable to be discussing these things with people who they already engage with on this forum.

 

Because BronyCon is a popular enough event for MLPForumers to be going to, there's a lot of scattered information about BronyCon around here in different subforums and topics, and I think that it would benefit this community to have a centralized subforum for the con, even if it isn't partnered with Poniverse.

 

And since BronyCon does have its own forum, maybe the first stickied post in the subforum could be a topic that lets people know that there is an official forum?

 

These are just some thoughts. That, and it'd be nice to give the brony conventions on the east coast some love.
