Anyone dislike stories where Ponies are jerks to Humanity?

Note: Granted, I dislike fan fiction where Humans are jerks to Ponies.

 

So anyone dislike stories where Ponies are jerks to Humanity? I dislike them quite a lot, the person who writes the story just seems to want to bash Humanity (unwittingly using Reaper from Mass Effect logic in many cases. You know the one I mean.) and say Ponies wiping out Humans is OK, in a feat of barbarism of near indescribable scale.

 

So should a writer use 'Ponies Are Superior' logic to bash other sapient beings; such as the Krogan from Mass Effect and other sapient aliens that behave like Humans.

 

It doesn't really make sense! Unless your using 'Ponies Are Superior' logic, so everyone should be a Pony.... Oh hello, Ponies Reapers from Mass Effect, you think everyone should be Reapers. Well these very out of character, cheap and false copy of the Ponies' counterparts to the show think so too, but just Reaper Ponies.

Humanity has made a lot of mistakes in the past, but I don't like it when either side are being jerks to each other.

I'm sure most people feel that way, although a lot of writers seem to do that. One of the biggest arguments against the Conversion Bureau fimfictions (350+) is that the original storyline and many of the responses have taken that tone, For the most part people have taken that equestrians on earth motif and tried to make it a much more compassionate storyline than where it started.

I also don't write fanfiction.

 

So I guess I can't comment on the fact that there is apparently more than one story where ponies treat humans badly...

 

But if I did either of those things, I would portray it realistically:

 

At first, humans and ponies would be scared of each other, each discovering a new sentient race.

 

Then, we would try to communicate with each other.

 

And finally, after we finally understand each other...

 

We would try to kill each other.

To be honest as a writer I have to say a writer can create how ever they see fit. Now if they like it and know their target audience then it's all good. Ponies being jerks to humans or vice versa is just a story telling tool. I've not real opinion on it because of that. Not everyone is going to like it and people will that's the glory of being the reader it's your choice.

Being rather bias about humanity, yeah, I hate such stories. To me, the minute I see one, I'll read a little then immediately exit out and continue. The longer I read such stories, the more pissed off I get. I'd rather not end up posting on the fanfic with an angered tone that'll probably piss off people.

 

Now… if the hate was temporarily. I could see toot to read and hopefully finish the story. Nothing is better than misunderstanding in a story. And it better make sense in why the hate began or fostered. (Unlike other stories. *cough cough.*)

I'm not a fan of such stories, especially when the writers try to pawn off said misanthropic Ponies as bastions of innocence, and think humanity is fundamentally "wrong" and need to be "corrected" by either being turned into Newfoals, or wiped out entirely.

 

I get that there are monsters out there with human faces, and I believe that there'll be hateers on both sides should we ever meet,but not all humans are demonics jerks in dire need of "correcting"…

And also, ponies have neither the ability or the wish to end humanity, they are not the type to meet something new and instantly kill it.

They would meet us, be friendly, hugs etc

I don't know how to answer this. If there is a reason behind the ponies being jerks, then I wouldn't dislike it. If they are jerks because humans are a different species, then I wouldn't like it. 

 

For example, if I read a story where Fluttershy goes to the human world, and the first thing she sees are humans mistreating animals, it would be no surprise that she would them. However, I think a story like that should resolve by Fluttershy learning that not all humans are cruel and that a lot of them are very caring.

 

If I read a story where Rainbow Dash goes to the human world and is rude to humans for no reason, then I wouldn't even finish the story. Her sudden hatred of humans would make the story bad automatically. Besides, I don't see Rainbow Dash as being mean to humans for no reason at all.
