Sounds like a boring idea, but they could make something like that work.

Not only has Rarity never shown any interest in Fancy Pants, he's already with Fleur De Lis.

Rainbow Dash and Rarity have already been shown several times to have a mutual understand for each other's different lifestyles.  Such an episode would be a derailment of their characters.

The conflict in such an episode would be completely non-existant because we know that Cadence would never betray Shining Armor.  Bad idea.

These ideas I can get behind.  Both sound awesome.

I don't think they'll go that route.  They could make it work, but it would seem like a retread.

 

Besides, episode 100 has to be a CelestiCord episode.
