RariPants pairing discussion

I know this seems a bit random, but we have to talk about something during the hiatus.  I wanted to shoot down this pairing, but thought I should make the thread a discussion rather than act all superior.  So let's discuss RariPants.

 

Is it a valid or even likely pairing?  Will it become canon?

 

Note: do not play the "it's a kid show" card.  If you do, I will find you!

I don't think it will become canon, but as a shipping, the fandom will ship them anyway. A likely pairing though, even when Fancy Pants is taken.

OT: I'm actually not much on parings in MLP, however I've always enjoyed the idea of Rarity and Fancy Pants, it just seems like a perfect fit, in all honesty. ^^

Oh I do like Rarity with Fancy Pants. Their relationship would remind me so much of Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler.

 

but my number 1 pairing is RariGhost of course. Don't you know they are Equestrias most darling couple. Rumor has it that they go on these long fabulous romantic vacations...and that he spoils her like a princess.

It becoming canon? Doubtful, mainly because the show has yet to actually show real romance - we've only really done crushes. And you know how those end.

 

Thing about Fancy Pants - he always struck me as being older than Rarity - don't know why, maybe because it's the gentleman type status - usually I think of them as being older.  But that's just speculation of mine.

I do, actually. They seem like a very natural couple Matching eyes and coat, both loving the high life, and unlike a lot of pairings, they both seem genuinely interested in one another. ^^ Especially at the end, where Fancy showed that he's not solely seeking for someone stupendously upper-class. The whole episode reminded me of the King & Maiden Parable in a way.

They're soo adorable. He's fancy, mature, kind, and generous. I think he's DEFINITELY Rarity's type. Because he seems much more calm, he'd match Rarity's dramatic attitude.

Sounds like it could work. I personally ship it since they look like they have great chemistry. Though it is debatable if fancy pants is married to fluer di lice. My head cannon is she doesn't speak their language so fancy pants is her translator.

Also if Rarity and Fancy Pants were to have a kid it would probably look something like this

Not my favorite ship for reasons that are obvious to people who know me. I like to think of Fancypants being more of a mentor/idol for Rarity to look up to versus a romantic interest. That said, the ship name is amazing.

I totally agree.  Wasn't Fancy Pants on a date with Fleur or something when he met Rarity.  And wasn't she sitting with him at the Equestria Games?

 

There is also the fact that they don't show any romantic interest in each other.  Sure, Rarity respects and admires Fancy Pants, but she didn't fawn over him the way she did Blueblood or Trenderhoof.

Hey, the art isn't the best, but that's no reason to be mean.

 

Maybe they don't show romantic interest in each other YET. Who knows? Friendship CAN turn into a relationship. That's a thing that can happen. Maybe Fancy Pants is dating Fleur now, but that doesn't mean they're always stay together. I love Fleur, she's one of my favorite ponies, but dating =/= married.
