  1. If you're going for drawing as opposed to vectoring I would recommend Paint Tool SAI. It's a nice program that has stabilizer support for tablets. A free alternative is GIMP, which I used for about two drawings before I found out about SAI. Mouse drawings will usually look less smooth, but it still looks nice if you do some touch-ups. However, a tablet helps a lot with drawing, due to being able to make long smooth strokes easily. My Wacom Bamboo Splash Pen tablet was about 55$ refurbished and it works like a charm. Hope this helps!
  2. Great! Glad you like it. Yeah, I drew the armor in on top of the body so he looks bulkier. I really just guessed on the boots, so I'm glad you're happy with them.
  3. Finally finished. I don't know how much you'll like it. Never designed armor for a pony before, so go easy on me. I hope you still like it though. Also didn't know if he was entirely black or not, so went with the former.
  4. Hey, that's great! Way better than my second pony drawing. Anyways, if you're going for show accurate style you won't need fur, since they're just simple outlines. In my opinion, you don't need any help with drawing, unless you want to develop your own style. Experiment a bit, and keep drawing! It took me about 10 drawings before I was satisfied with how I draw, and I still figure out new styles that I try and techniques to experiment with. If you're having fun doing it, then you can improve at a much faster rate. Hope this gives a little bit of insight into drawing! Post some of your art in the "Fan Art" section and people will gladly give critiques to help you improve.
  5. Sure, I can give it a shot. Give me a day or so. If you think of any details you want to change from that original picture make sure to tell me.
  6. Coloring seems fine. Ponies are simple enough to not need anything other than solid colors. For poses I would use simple shapes such as circles for the body. Shading can be done using a soft brush on a different layer set on multiply. Set the color to a light grey. I don't know if Paint.net supports any of that, but it's how I do it.
  7. You're very welcome! It really was no trouble at all. You had the design already laid out so I just went and traced it. If you need anything else like this done you can message me anytime.
  8. Here you go. Didn't take really long. I hope you like it! I added a simple gradient background.Tell me if you need anything changed.
  9. Awesome! Always glad to see people drawing more OCs. I also like your style, very simple and appealing to the eye. However, that leg on Zygen's OC looks odd. I think they do bend that way, but it doesn't look very natural. Maybe it's just me. Anyways, glad to see people doing more requests! They're also good practice, so you'll get back into the swing of things in no time.
  10. You should definitely continue drawing! The more you draw the better you get. You also already have the basic shapes of ponies down so it should be a smooth road to improvement. The only things about this drawings are that the colors seem a little off, the wings need some work, and her eye looks a tad big. However, for a first drawing in such a long period of time it's perfect! Keep on drawing and we'll be here to help.
  11. Thanks for the feedback! I can see what you mean by the fishing pole. I think it looks that way because I forgot to shade it. Thanks for all the compliments, too! My drawings are fueled by other people enjoying them.
  12. Man, I'm just going on a drawing spree. I have no idea how to draw a cowboy hat from the top down. Forgot the apples on the trees, so let's just say that they were all harvested and Applejack is relaxing as a result of said harvesting. I'm really surprised at how the background turned out. The barn was something drawn last minute because I felt the skyline looked empty. I also figured out the deviantART embed thing. Enjoy!
  13. Very nice drawings! I chuckled at the farting pony. These look like traditional drawings to me. I like the traditional style a lot. I wish I could draw without the aid of a computer, but I need that Ctrl+Z. Looking forward to more art from you!
  14. There's a ton of people that have threads on this forum that will draw OCs. Just post in one/some of them and ask if they'll draw her! I'm sure there'll be people willing to do it.
  15. Nice! I must say I really like your OC's design. Is he a ponysona, or just an OC? I'm glad you're finding drawing in SAI enjoyable. Hope to see more art from you soon!
  16. I guess you could consider this a celebratory gift for getting section moderator. I also wanted to draw, but didn't know what. Anyways, enjoy!
  17. Thanks! I do have a deviantART, just click on the picture in my signature. Didn't know I had any fans . Glad I could help you akita-ken! I can also see you've been promoted to sectional mod. Congratulations!
  18. Sorry I haven't drawn anything in awhile, I've been lazy and didn't know what to draw. This is the result of some boredom one night after doing homework. Enjoy! Attempted to use the deviantART BBCode but it kept coming up with deviation not found no matter what I pasted into it. If anyone knows how to use the BBCode correctly I'd appreciate some tips .
  19. Oh hey, I remember drawing this. You're very welcome! I can tell it's one of my earlier ones because of the lines. Anyways, it was no problem
  20. So after avoiding all preview clips and songs, I finally watched the episode. I loved it, even though it was a little fast. Then I spent the next 5 hours drawing this, by far the most time I've spent on a drawing. About 1 hour spent on sketching and 4 half-focused hours inking and coloring. Used 75 layers, split into 6 folders for each pony. I have to admit, near the end I was getting sick of my drawing. I felt like my art looked odd with black solid outlines. I feel better about it after getting away from it and looking back at it today. Anyways, hope you all enjoy!
  21. Why don't you start your own blog? It seems like you have all the art skills needed to answer questions. I don't see anything stopping you.
  22. It's okay, I still have trouble visualizing mouths too. Another thing I see is you drew the muzzle a little low. If you look at your avatar the muzzle should top off at the middle of the eyes. With a higher muzzle you get more chin to work with and have an easier time drawing a mouth.
  23. That's sweet of you Zygen . It takes a lot of willpower (or boredom) to do a drawing on the day-of. Anyways, with the mouth. I don't really know how to explain it other than thinking of the snout as a 3d object as opposed to a flat feature attached to the face. People have different styles for snouts, some short and round and some show-accurate. Maybe look at some of the art on Drawfriends and study how the snouts are drawn. Having guidelines in a sketch can help a lot. I don't know if you do that before drawing. Hope that helps!
  24. Thanks for the compliments! You shouldn't be jealous. Your artwork gets better and better every time! You've improved a lot faster than most people do. Just keep at it and have fun with it.
  25. Completely separate pictures. I drew the Dash one yesterday and wanted to draw another one, so I did Applejack a few hours ago. Although you can consider it to be AppleDash shipping if that's what you want
