  1. You know, regardless of Celestia's actual fate in that picture, just seeing Twilight mourning like that, even after all the times we've seen her cry...there's just something about it that makes it a tad unnerving.
  2. I don't want one/all of the CMC to not get their cutie mark. We already know their talents, so to draw it out any further would be headache-inducing. Episode 5 might change that with Scootaloo. And there's the rumor that Sweetie Belle will get a "big show". That would just leave Apple Bloom. Oh, the possibilities of the stories that can be told of Apple Bloom once again being alone in her flank's blankness.
  3. Why does Nightmare Moon have fangs?! First Vinyl's eyes, then Twilight's wings, and now Nightmare Moon's teeth! The evils of Hasbro have gone on long enough! Now, jokes of fan overreaction aside, NMM's fangs do seem kinda tacked on. I know she had them in Luna Eclipsed, but they seemed more like a little Nightmare Night embellishment. Not even Nightmare Rarity from the comics had them, as far as I can tell. I read that the creators were concerned about making NMM too scary for kids, hence her elegant and beautiful design, but grew more comfortable with making scarier villains like Discord, Queen Chrysalis, and King Sombra as time went on (in fact, Meghan McCarthy felt Sombra wasn't scary enough, and I hear her). But if this is their way of letting NMM join the fright factor ranks of newer villains...meh.
  4. I looked through my TV listings on FiOS. Here are the episodes scheduled to air as part of the marathon: The Return of Harmony, Part 1 The Return of Harmony, Part 2 Too Many Pinkie Pies Magic Duel Magical Mystery Cure
  5. I have not cried while watching this show (yet), but that does not mean the series has not made me feel strongly. During any scene where any character feels completely abandoned or helpless, my throat knots up. When they achieve great accomplishments that make everyone around them proud, my spine tingles. I guess that's my personal experience.
  6. Meghan McCarthy explicitly stated that Discord was reformed for this very reason. Sure, if he stayed evil, he could break out and carry out nefarious schemes as many times as the writers fancied, but the end would be the same: he'd taste the rainbow, muthaphuqas. I believe that by making him the "not-always-reliable ally" instead of the "known enemy", he's been freed from this formula and given a new kind of unpredictability: sure, he'll help in his own way, but there's always the off-chance that he's got something else up his sleeve. He now gets to be predictably unpredictable. EDIT: With the new promo out, I have decided to formulate my own prediction of Discord's role in the story using some preview images in the order they were released: Now, speculation time (tagged in case one of these ends up being right to some degree):
  7. Slightly better quality of same video posted above. Also, the new bits might give just enough material to speculate some more.
  8. I'm thinking the rating system isn't so immediate, considering how Season 4 was confirmed before Season 3 even started. So can we really blame people for asking? I believe this marks the third time these episodes and promos have been posted on this thread. EDIT: This, however, you might want to see, crappy quality though it may be.
  9. Hey, as long as they don't tell us about what the episodes will actually be about, I can take it. But I think we all know that they will. Christmas 2012 was a chore to get through knowing I'd have to wait a month for more Discord in an episode I was totally unsure of how it would turn out. If you're a fan of Discord, you don't just hear that Fluttershy is gonna try to turn him good and say, "Oh, neat." My mind was racing so fast and so hard, I actually lost sleep over it. And trust me, I know I shouldn't.
  10. I've seen too many one- or two-cour anime to count (a cour is 12/13 episodes), but in terms of "long-runners" (100+ episodes), the only one I can honestly say I've watched every episode of is Fairy Tail. I've seen all 175 episodes in Japanese, and all 72 episodes currently dubbed by Funimation, while eagerly awaiting more. I try to avoid the Animax dub, because it goes against everything I think even remotely decent voice actors should do (i.e., act).
  11. Here's what I think: this scene will happen before Celestia and Luna disappear, but it will give the idea that something is wrong with Luna. I still believe what we saw in the animatic clip is Luna's first transformation into Nightmare Moon before she was banished, but because of the earlier scene pictured above, and because Twilight doesn't appear to know where (or when) she is when it happens, it seems at first that Luna really has turned back to the dark side. In short, this may be a red herring.
  12. That's nothing new from what the Discovery press release from five days ago told us. In fact, the press release revealed the actors who'd be in it, including a very special guest star in case the latest TV promo didn't give it away. The titles and synopses of episodes 3 and 4 are also out, too.
  13. I appreciate "Spike at Your Service" more because of this one behind-the-scenes tidbit from the creators. The idea of Rarity actually treating Spike like a slave sounds like it could've been much more unpleasant to watch than MMDW.
  14. Look around. It'll be easier if you know the episode numbers, or better yet, the titles. It will almost definitely be put on YouTube once it airs, even if it's just for a short time. And if you can't find it on YouTube, Google it.
  15. Okay, so... New episode info is out on Zap2it: If there were ever to be a time when something from the comics will make its way into the show...now would be a pretty frickin' good time. Because...
  16. I just hope we'll be getting a title for these episodes soon. How long was it before the S3 premiere aired that we learned that "The Crystal Empire" was the title? If I remember correctly, we already knew what TCE would be about as early as July.
  17. I see thorns... Lots and lots of thorns... You don't think this has something to do with the mysterious foe the ponies must face, do you? I mean, I'm glad we'll get to see Nightmare Moon again, but I don't think she's the villain of our little epic.
  18. Okay, so I know Meghan said there would be a "weird" episode, but...was there any particular reason why Seth posted a pony picture of Weird Al Yankovic on EQD? I mean, I know Al is an advocate of bronies, and he's "weird", and he's apparently been in talks with Jayson Thiessen since 2011 to make an appearance, but...
  19. The only thing I fear about this episode is not being able to see the younger Princess Celestia. From the looks of that animatic clip, if Twilight does indeed go back in time and experiences what Celestia did when Luna first became Nightmare Moon, does this mean Twilight will be appearing completely in Celestia's place throughout, or will this only be shown at first before we see her?
  20. We've already gone over this on the other page. And we don't know if this is a whole episode or just a short character-developy scene that's likely going to be in one of the earlier episodes, if not the first.
  21. I like to think of Twilight's first flight like my very first swim to the deep end of a pool when I was a kid. Sure, you think you get it down pat at first. Then you notice there's six feet of water (or in this case, 100 feet of air) beneath you. Suddenly you stop being an expert. And that's my headcanon.
  22. Hey guys, you know how Michael Dobson or someone affiliated with him once said he'd be doing pony stuff this upcoming season? Well, this was posted on his resume: Who do you think this Dr. Caballeron and Bulk Biceps could be? Of course, I think everyone can guess who the latter is, since practically everyone is guessing it already.
  23. It was said to feature her sisters, but it wasn't said that it wouldn't feature her parents too, was it? And if Hasbro allows dead/missing parents, why not allow not-real parents? Of course, in this case the parentage would take center focus and odds are wouldn't be addressed in its entirety (Pinkie tries joining another family rather than look for her own). It would be pretty heavy stuff, even with the disability episode we already know is going to happen. But hey, you know what Meghan said... Ambition...
  24. Episode 5: Scootaloo’s Wings Predicted Titles: I’ll Fly Higher, Day of the Wings Written By: Charlotte Fullerton Premise: ‘Scootaloo’s naturally small wings make her incapable of flying. Diamond Tiara and silver Spoon attempt to alienate Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle from their best friend by being kind to them and not to Scootaloo. Will Scootaloo never fly?’
  25. There's been noise over on the Season 4 Info thread that Scootaloo will be the first to get her cutie mark in the "Scootaloo can't fly" episode. Then there's the rumor that Sweetie Belle will be getting a big musical number this season, which can only mean she'd get her mark too. If this is the case, then we have ourselves an interesting scenario: for the second time since "Call of the Cutie", Apple Bloom will be the only one of her friends to still be a blank flank. Just imagine the potential of an episode about Apple Bloom despairing that the two fillies who helped give her courage now bear a constant reminder of her failures, and building upon her fears that she must continue her search for her true calling alone once more. Maybe then the love of her friends shining through will be the key to unlocking her talent, perhaps.
