    That's not what "Twilight Sparkle and the Crystal Heart Spell" says... Anyways, I'm glad that Equestria Girls brought up some of Twilight's issues with princesshood. And alicornhood. It makes the wait for season 4 more bearable. That and I want to see where else they take these issues.

    Here's what I think: the Equestria Girls movie had something running for it since it was about Twilight, a pony, exploring a strange new world unfamiliar to her for reasons that were at least somewhat investing, setting it apart from what otherwise could have been a shallow high school tween drama that made up the first five-or-so seconds of ZXInsanity's first parody of the subject. Unless the show continues this "fish out of water" element, it had better offer something that doesn't give more weight to the original negative assumption of the show.

    And then I found, once again, that I was not alone in this fandom. God, I love you people. Okay, sorry if that sounded hard on anyone who dislikes anything based on hard evidence rather than appreciating something for what might be but probably isn't. Oddly enough, I found merits to King Sombra based on what we didn't know about him.

    The way you worded the title makes it seem as though you're certain there absolutely will be an episode about the history of Equestria. Granted, the was Twilight teased meeting Celestia and Luna as fillies is a might suspicious, but...

    I always figured MLP would be a finite series for the reason you brought up, and with the writers saying how ambitious they're shooting this season to be, I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. But it would still be pretty bum-inducing.

    Even though it's not my opinion, I'm going to post an opinion no one thought would ever genuinely be included on this thread: Equestria Girls sucked.

    Oh, Equestria Girls is very much canon. It just has about as much bearing on the rest of the show as, say, "Over a Barrel" or "Hearts and Hooves Day": introducing concepts and never bringing them up in any other episode again.

    Well, now it's 81% based on 907 votes and counting, with an average rating of 4.1. As for that "2.7" IMDb score, five times as many viewers have voted since then. It is now at 6.1.

    I believe the rumor originated from this Comic Con 2012 panel (start from the 27:36 mark). Even if it doesn't happen for real, just watching the video should be enough.

    As if I hadn't said it enough (though I may have only said it once or twice on these forums), I would love at least one of the CMC to get her cutie mark this season. (Except Babs. I love her, but not as much as the other three.) On top of that, what are the odds of the season 4 opener being based on the "Crystal Heart Spell" book? My guess is it's very slim, since they're said to be written by Megan McCarthy, who I'm pretty sure did not write the book. Though if they credit the book's author for the episodes' story, like SAYS and KCAFO... I dunno, I'd just like to see something new. They say season 4 is gonna be ambitious? Well, make it ambitious!

    And what if it's just one of them? There could be an episode showing one of the CMC facing a dilemma after getting her mark: should she continue going on cutie mark-getting escapades with her friends, or stop because she doesn't need to do those kinds of things anymore? And in the oh so very likely chance she'll pick the former, then they can do those kinds of stories you have in mind. Unless they involve the obtaining of cutie marks.

    And what's with all the people saying Twilight now has godlike power? She's practically a god-in-training as it is. And if it doesn't seem that way to anyone else, well, I suppose that goes to show how much of a "god" an alicorn is.

    ...Yeah, the writers kinda already said that "princesshood ? her leaving her friends". In fact, "The Crystal Heart Spell" shows her still living in Ponyville. So yeah, nothing to worry about there!

    Yeah, like an episode about one of the three core CMC getting her cutie mark before the other two won't lead to any intriguing plot developments.

    Wait, all of them? If it is, it'd better not be all in the same episode. Or maybe...if something happens that causes them to get their marks at the same time, much like the Mane 6...

    Oh, how I would love one of the CMC to get her cutie mark. It would lead to another dynamic I'd love the show to cover: will she continue to go on adventures with her friends, or do what she feels she's destined to do? How will she reconcile the two?

    Not only is there no reason for me not to watch it, there are several reasons for me to watch it. How will princesshood affect Twilight's life? How will it not? What will the reformed Discord do? How will Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo's relationship grow? Will the Equestria Games happen? What will happen at the games? Will a Crusader finally get her cutie mark? Will the promotional synopsis spoil the fact a Crusader will get her cutie mark? What will the new Rarity episode be like?

    MLP-related opinions Discord being reformed is a good idea. The Changelings should never be given an official background. I don't mind the lack of season 3 episodes about Rarity (best pony). Most MLP accusation fics are terrible. Most of them. CR's hatred of season 3 is well thought out for all the wrong reasons. Non-MLP-related opinions Batman Forever is my most favorite non-Burton Batman movie. Some of George Lucas' changes to Star Wars are for the better. There should be no rush for Kingdom Hearts 3 to get started. I'm glad the BioShock movie got cancelled. Blazers aren't cool in real life.

What attracted you to MLP and brony culture? Discord, because I am a Trekkie. I learned of bronies afterward. Do you consider MLP-related activities to be your primary hobby? What percentage of your leisure activities would you estimate are related to MLP? It makes up most of my free time on the internet. What portion of your friends also consider themselves bronies? None that I've met in person. If you have non-brony friends, are you 'out' as a brony to them? If so, has this affected your relationship with them in any way? They're mostly people I don't interact with more than a few weeks of classes. My family knows I'm out, and they're cool with it. Do you feel that bronies as a group are put upon or stigmatized on the internet? (Or society as a whole?) Kind of.

    Oh, I've already gotten over them. Why? Fan fiction. And not the angry kind of fan fiction clearly written for the author to blow off steam; I mean the good kind that actually fixes whatever problems one may have with the original product. Things may always turn out alright in this show, but not always the way we want. I don't blame the writers necessarily; it's just what we come to expect.

    I wanted to like this episode (I'm counting both parts as one) so much more than I did. The Changelings are by far the most incredible thing to come out it. But it's things such as that that made left this bittersweet episode with a mild yet unpleasant aftertaste.

    Season 2 kinda ended on a low note for me because the last few episodes had moments such as this, with characters acting mean for reasons weaker than they ought to be, and then all but getting glanced over because they're not the focus. I think that contributed greatly to my enjoyment of season 3; the bitter scenes weren't as bitter as those from the first two seasons, and there weren't as many of them. Yeah, I know, kids' shows. Bound to have moments like this. But to have these kinds of moments near and/or in a finale and hiatus of any sort just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth, and for a long while.
