  1. This topic is DEEEEEEEAAD Anyway here's the last of the minions. Her name was Trabant but I changed it to Nachtwache to better fit her role. She was very tricky to vector. Like Ironcross, I couldn't use her original sketch as a base, so I had to find a suitable screenshot of a sitting pony which turned out to be easier said than done. Eventually I settled for a screen of a sitting Twilight which I had to modify extensively so she'd be sized correctly, and looking backwards.
  2. I have always loved cute things, ever since early childhood. In fact, one of the reasons I became a fan of MLP and was attracted to it in the first place is because everything's so cute. So for me it's not so much that MLP has changed my views on cute things, but it has given me a new source of cute things to enjoy.
  3. "Overrated" is a tricky word because it implies that opinion is fact. For example, I think a large portion of the shows on the OP's list are awful and/or overrated, but does that make my opinion any more valid? No, not at all. People have different tastes, and they ought to like whatever they want, and not worry themselves about whether or not a show is "underrated" or "overrated" or whether it's better or worse than Show X. If you like something, then you like it; if you don't, then you don't. Simple as that. There's no requirement for liking certain shows more than others because of any one person's (or even several people's) arbitrary measure of quality.
  4. Somewhere in between Unhappy and Moderate for me. MLP helps somewhat with depression, though it will never cure it (and it'd be unfair to expect it to), and I mostly got into it out of my own curiosity. I also like to draw ponies sometimes but I wouldn't class myself under Creative as I'm not an artist. Though truth be told, I dunno if I want to continue calling myself a brony, I've become disillusioned with the fandom as of late.
  5. Just received this beautiful sparkly motherbucker in the post~ She was waiting for me right as I returned home from work, a very nice surprise after a particularly grim work day, I must say. Short review follows: Well, she's a lot bigger than I imagined! A little under twice as big as the Funko figures which gives her a lot of presence on the shelf. The sparkly finish is really quite nice. There's a bit of stray sparkles here and there, but it's not very noticeable unless you're quite close-up, and overall the figure looks very clean and posh. Colours are lovely and of course the light show is a nice touch. I'd say she's very worth the price for quality and the overall prestige the figure carries as a fandom piece. Certainly makes an imposing centrepiece to my burgeoning pony collection. Now to find a suitable place of honour on which to display her~
  6. Most expensive Hasbro-priced merch was the Comic Con exclusive Vinyl Scratch figure at $60 (after shipping/taxes). The most expensive pony-related thing I've bought, was a poster signed by several of the voice actors that cost $150.
  7. I'm not a big fan of summer, me. Especially where I'm living, where summer can be quite dreadful (at least to me). It's generally been in the low to mid 30's or higher here (Celsius), or for Fahrenheit users, the low to mid 90's with some days going over 100. It's also been dreadfully humid (I can't stand humidity). It's also the rainy season, so when it's not roasting, then it's pissing down hard for days.
  8. OHHHHOHOHO, WOW! DOUBLE POSTING ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY! WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Well, in this case it means I made summat. To be specific, I made a Changeling. Always wanted to vector one of these little bastards. I find them adorable and their designs are neat. They're such little badasses and they remind me of Zerglings. Not much to see here, just your standard Changeling drone. They're fun to vector, and easier than regular ponies since they consist mainly of simple curves and sharp angles, the only tricky-ish bit is the holes in their legs. That, and finding a decent picture to vector off of. I combined three different images to create this Changeling, so he's slightly unique. One other reason I made this lil' guy is because I'm thinking of (maybe) adding a Changeling to my repertoire of OC's. A bit of a hypocritical move for me, as I'm generally iffy about Changeling OC's, but hey, I'll try to make it work.
  9. THIS x1000 I would totally support Trixie being a descendant of Starswirl purely for the sheer hilarity of a pretty mediocre magician being related to the greatest wizard in Equestrian history.
  10. As others have said, it'd be WAY out of the blue for that to happen. They've barely even interacted with each other, if at all. Plus they've already set the stage more or less for Cheerilee, it'd be completely random if they suddenly made him interested in Pinkie. I recall there was mention of an episode in season 4 where Pinkie's sisters would make an appearance. If I were a gambling man, I'd bet that this song might have something to do with that episode.
  11. I have a Facebook and a Twitter (which I don't really use). Dunno if it counts, but I have accounts on YouTube, DA, and Pixiv as well. I'm on a few forums also.
  12. That's the Queen Chrysalis figure for the upcoming (or is it released already?) new "Pony Favourites" set (which is awesome). It's a repaint of the usual Alicorn mould. It looks nice, and I welcome anything about Chryssy, but I do wish they'd have remoulded it a bit. Some new wings/hooves and her horn would've made her perfect. As for Changeling figures, I'd love some. It may not be ideal for the target audience, but here's one instance where gambling on the bronies might pay off big for Hasbro, as lots of bronies with juicy disposable incomes will be likely to buy mass amounts of them for troop-building displays~

  18. I have, and I still do, to an extent. I hate myself for everything I do, though. Liking ponies is just one more on a long list of aberrations. While I won't stop liking MLP (it makes me feel good) I do often have to look back at my interests and realise that it seems like everything I get into is weird, or unpopular, or niche, or part of negative stereotypes. No matter what it is, for some reason I always end up getting into what isn't "normal" to like and never get into what is. Which would be fine if I could offset that with other things. Many bronies can counter the fact that they like ponies by being physically fit, attractive, successful, imposing, or otherwise functional. I can't. I am a walking pillar of abnormality that confirms every bad stereotype. I am a poster child of bullies' perfect target. Don't get me wrong, liking ponies has been an absolute blessing to me overall, and I'll always think that; but it must be said that it does nothing to improve my overall image and reputation, and does everything to further ruin it. So I do dislike myself for liking yet another "controversial" thing.
  19. Just received the two t-shirts I ordered from Hot Topic with the coupons they were giving out. Got one with Vinyl on it and another with Applejack on it. Thus my collection of pony shirts grows steadily.
  20. If they know about it, they probably don't think much of it. The staff, and Lauren Faust in particular, are seasoned veterans of the animation industry, and are probably well aware that for every cartoon made, there's going to be more than a handful of fans out there with a pathological need to show the world how 'edgy' and 'shocking' they can be.
  21. I would be: The Larch. The Larch. Or otherwise I would have to be... the Horse Chestnut. I can recognise both from quite a long way away.
  22. Thanks~ I expect it to arrive in a week or so as I picked the cheapest (slowest) shipping date. I ordered it a few days ago so shouldn't be long now. I'd be happy to do a review once it gets here. The Funko one is sure to be amazing, plus she gets to be with her best pal, Octavia. The Hasbro one does indeed carry the prestige though. Being one of the very first Hasbro-produced toys made specifically for the adult fans makes it also something of a milestone piece in the brony fandom as a whole, and as a collectors' item that makes her very appealing and a lovely "crown jewel" to one's pony collection~
  23. Honestly I was neutral towards them. I was aware of the fandom (which was in its relative infancy at the time) and that apparently MLP was coming back and that was that. I didn't see any reason to judge them because it really seemed like no big deal to me. Then I saw some hater on a forum for an anime talking nasty about MLP fans, and there were bronies on that forum making their points, and I really found the hate quite distasteful. So I came to their defence as a neutral third party, on the grounds that people should be able to like what they want. As a fan of cartoons, anime, and Pokémon, I knew what it felt like to be hated on, so I understood their plight. After a while, curiosity got the better of me, and here I am.
  24. This. I understand what people mean when they say "use the hate and throw it right back at them by pwning them" but what if I don't want to be aggressive about it? What if I don't want to pwn anything, and I just want to play? I'm not a competitive person, I like to play competitive games in the spirit of fun and camaraderie and friendly competition. I don't see why it has to become the ego-stroking match it inevitably becomes. I'm just tired of having to be on the defensive at all times. I would really like to just be at peace and be who I am (like everyone else who has "acceptable" interests) without having to constantly be on my toes or actively ignoring someone (which isn't ignoring, IMO) or coming up with ways to "dish it back out". I don't want a fight, I don't want to be better, I just want to be on the same level as everyone else. Why's everything always gotta be a grudge match? Why does someone always have to walk away a winner or a loser? It's a game, it means nothing, it's a glorified toy. Can't we just have fun without getting angry or exacting revenge or shouting to the other guy "YOU JUST GOT OWNED BY A BRONY! IN UR FACE!" It doesn't make me feel any better about anything, and it certainly didn't make the hater hate any less. I realise that I'm preaching the impossible here, which is why I choose to simply avoid the grief altogether and avoid online gaming like the plague.
  25. Exactly. And it's also the reason I don't even play with my own "real-world" mates online any more. They all fit the stereotype of the immature gamer and start flinging racist slurs, immature jokes, and ridiculous taunts that are clearly not meant to be fun ribbing or busting-chops but an attempt to antagonise (and often uncalled for as the other team hasn't said anything first). Quite frankly it's embarrassing to be on the same team. And people still can't get this through their heads. We haven't joined a bloody cult. We haven't started a political party. We've turned on the telly and watched a half-hour cartoon. That's it. That's our crime. Everyone else can like whatever childish cartoon they want, and it's completely OK for them because they hide behind "nostalgia", or the fact it's a "nerd-approved" franchise, or they pull the "oh, it has adult jokes" card, but ours is not granted the pleasure of such immunity. Ours is a crime against nature. I get that not everyone likes the idea of a "girly" television show. I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea. But the level this hatred for a simple television programme has attained has gone absolutely beyond ridiculous. When do people draw the line?
