I've watched most of the earlier seasons of Castle, but I'm nowhere near caught up all the way. So far, it's pretty good.

gaming Buying and collecting games: Digital downloads or physical copies?
CUINJALE replied to Nas's topic in Media Discussion
I personally feel like physical copies of games - or any sort of media, for that matter - are a waste of space. I'm not particularly sentimental towards collector's editions or mint-in-box things, so it seems to me that the most logical step in the advancement of this technology would be to wipe the physical copies off the map completely. -
gaming What games are you looking forward to this year?
CUINJALE replied to Dr. Nefarious's topic in Media Discussion
Darksiders II looks kind of neat, but the first one was a kleptomaniacal God of War ripoff. New Tomb Raider also looks like it'll at least be interesting. I'm very excited for Lollipop Chainsaw, what with me being one of those terrible people that are still playing Suda 51 games. Honorable mention for game that I want to play but will never be able to play goes to Luigi's Mansion 2. Damn 3DS being all expensive and 3D and handheld and stuff. -
mega thread What game are you playing right now?
CUINJALE replied to Mint Petal's topic in Media Discussion
Final Fantasy VI (or III for you baka gaijins), and Diablo II. I try to maintain a constant balance between the JRPGs and the Not-JRPGs. -
I like pretty much everything except Country, but only because the amount of bad Country heavily outweighs the good country. I do like me some Willie Nelson. Favorites include Metal and Classical.

Contents of pockets: One Goose Island bottlecap. Two packets of orthodontic rubber bands (strange, considering I haven't had braces since I was 14). One Incredible Hulk velcro wallet. Contents of wallet include four $1 bills, a book of Red Bar Radio matches, a creased driver's license, and a 'special edition' Alpha Counter button.

I once saw some bum lose one of his teeth, and then he put it back in his mouth and swallowed it. The weirdest part was that it seemed so normal to him, and none of the people around me saw it.

Best: I like to consider myself a reasonable and logical person. I'm also told that I'm humble. Worst: I don't even know how to ride a bike. I mean, what the hell, man.

I like how one of the options is 'annoying'. Because y'know, some folks like people that are annoying. I really don't mind most of these, mostly because I either have these traits, or I can see a reason why someone might be like that. I do have a bit of a problem with homophobes, though. I think the one trait in people that I just can't stand is when they're not conscious of what other people think. People who drive too fast, or too slow, or take too long to order their cheeseburger. Myself, I'm a compulsive cheater and I'm pretty judgmental of others.

Did you do the right thing? Um, sure. If you hadn't killed it I'm pretty sure it would have died within a minute or two. I can at least say your heart was at least in a better place than mine would have been, seeing that I'm terrified of butterflies and I kill them on sight. Scary mofos, them butterflies.

gaming Video Game Achievements. Yay or Neigh?
CUINJALE replied to Tom The Diamond's topic in Media Discussion
I guess I'm leaning more towards disliking them. While I appreciate Achievements giving the psycho 100%-ers something else to go for (therefore keeping them in their caves and off the streets), the obsessive utilitarian in me doesn't see a reason to hand out pointless numbers for killing three Zomblees with one shot. I suppose it's rewarding to some extent to get a little blip on your screen after finishing Duke Nukem 3d on the Damn I'm Good difficulty, but it doesn't serve any real purpose but to give you a little ego boost. It's especially annoying when games hand out Achievements like popcorn. Prototype 2 on the 360 (fun game, by the way. A bit short, though) gives you, no joke, around three 10G achievements for getting through the unskippable tutorial and opening cutscenes. I guess it is funny when they're used for some comedic purpose, like the 'Get 500 Lua Script Errors' achievement in Gmod.- 47 replies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prDoGmY5kj8 I feel like I'm supposed to be cutting myself to this. It's a shame that I'm just so darn happy.

Your favorite RPG series: It's hard to pick a specific one, but I really do enjoy, or at least appreciate, Final Fantasy. Your favorite RPG? (If different from above) : Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Your favorite ability system: Teaching your Pokeymanz moves. I like the level of strategy it can add to the games. Best characters iyo: Daniel from Parasite Eve. I can do nothing but respect the token black guy who doesn't get killed right away. Favorite sequences/bosses? (Keep these in spoilers for those who don't wish to see it please!) : Favorite RPG setting: The Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3. Totally makes up for the frightening character models. Preferred encounter type? (Visible or random or other?) : Visible. None of them Dark Cave Zubats for me. Do you like RPGs that are traditional more or ones that are unique in some way: I do like it when RPGs change it up a bit, but it's a good idea to stick to the basics. RPG series you would recommend to anyone: The MOTHER series. Especially the ones that you can't get your hands on outside of Japan. Favorite RPG soundtracks or songs? Do you prefer battle themes or immersive town themes, etc. : The battle music in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. I've recently resparked my love for older RPGs by finally purchasing Diablo II. Maybe in twelve years I'll get around to playing Diablo III.

I just want to start this off by saying that I'm not a crazy guy. I don't normally buy into all them conspiracy theories, and I can probably assume that you guys don't either. But I found one that really caught my eye. I was listening to Alpha Counter, which is a podcast I frequent, and there was a very interesting discussion about halfway through. I'll put up both the link and the episode file itself. If you wish to listen to the discussion, skip to after the first break, which is about 42 minutes in. WARNING: There's probably some harsh language in there. http://alphacounter....st-17-theraflu/ alpha-counter-19-20120517.mp3 For those of you who are too lazy to listen to this, Sean and Kevin are talking about the possibility that the next Sony console and the new Xbox are actually the same thing. They've pointed out several similarities in the announcements/leaks about the new consoles, such as the planned official announcement date (E3 2013), the graphics hardware (both use the Radeon HD 6670), and the decision of both consoles to refuse access to used games. Also, all these leaks are being released at nearly the same time for both consoles. I've become quite intrigued by this, especially because it's my very first conspiracy nut experience. Now, I realize that this may not be enough evidence to prove anything, but I thought it was interesting at the very least. Your thoughts?

The best part about that one is that it was added in the middle of a lawsuit between the two companies. One of my favorite easter eggs is in any game is in Alice: Madness Returns. In a certain area you can find a very peculiar skeleton.

gaming What was the first game you played on every console you own?
CUINJALE replied to Radiance64's topic in Media Discussion
SNES - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars N64 - Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Gamecube - Resident Evil 4 PS2 - Shadow of the Colossus PC - Half Life 2 Xbox 360 - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Nintendo DS - Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Keep in mind that I restricted this to consoles that I own and that still function properly. I had a PS3 for a few weeks. -
My Red Bar Radio shirt arrived today. And it's much smaller than I would have preferred! Awesome.!

movies/tv [SPOILER]"The Avengers" Movie Offensive?
CUINJALE replied to Tyger's topic in Media Discussion
Something tells me that the number of adopted people who heard this line and actually felt bad because of it is close to zero. And even if the people writing the script included this with a wicked smile on their faces, knowing that it would be the perfect revenge against those adoptees, that's no reason to get all riled up about it. It's a joke. -
My Neighbor Totoro. I don't need to see Japanese Calvin & Hobbes, thank you.

I don't feel like the Elder Scrolls series really needs multiplayer in it. It works so well as a singleplayer experience.

Gray sweats, gray boxers, gray t-shirt, and gray socks. And occasionally sunglasses. I'm so hip. EDIT: Also, one of my t-shirts has a skull on it. Exciting.
