    I don't really see how Fluttershy can be overrated when she's the most likely to be listed as "overrated" in these types of threads, something this exact thread is showing... Fluttershy has faults? I don't know about anypony else, but I don't think being timid is a good reason to not like a character...just because she's not as brave as someone like Rainbow Dash doesn't mean she's overrated. Actually, i'd say she's brave to an extent...she did stand up for her friends in Dragonshy, and overcame her fear of being humiliated in Hurricane Fluttershy...

    I wouldn't say that makes her overrated, as shyness is something people can relate to. If anything, Fluttershy is only overrated by the fans who like her just because she's cute.

    You're describing why the fanon version of Vinyl isn't overrated, which i'm sure others could agree with. They meant the canon version of Vinyl is overrated because we haven't seen enough of her in the actual show for there to be this much hype surrounding her.

    Meh, calling something "overrated" is nothing more than an opinion that can't be proven. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic became popular simply because it's a show that many of us happen to find entertaining, and enjoy watching. Nothing wrong with that at all, and just because you may like other shows more than MLP doesn't make it an overrated cartoon. I've seen every single cartoon you named, and I prefer MLP...not to say that I don't think those are good cartoons, as they are. Every single one of those shows was cancelled years ago, so there's not really much material left for fans to even discuss...hence the lack of huge fandoms with new fanmade content (fanfics, music, etc) almost every day for those shows. Oh, and Lauren Faust didn't create PPG.

    I would point out that you're completely missing the point of what everyone is saying, but I really don't need to continue arguing with a broken record...especially about something as insignificant as the gender of a final boss in a video game.

    She wasn't in the original games, so she wasn't the protagonist you battle at Mt. Silver. HG/SS were remakes of the gen 2 Pokemon games, before a female protagonist for the Kanto region existed in the games. That's all there is to it, really.

    Personally, I don't mind that they didn't include an option to fight the female protagonist for this specific fight. After all, Red is the original protagonist of the series, right? So what's the point of having the option to fight the female protagonist if she's not the true (and by "true", I mean original) protagonist of gen 1? That option is definitely welcome for future games in the series, though. EDIT: And the female protagonist was added in the gen 1 remakes because it makes no sense to not include her when other Pokemon games were starting to include both male and female protagonists.

    I don't really see how...you fight Red because there was no female protagonist in gen 1.

    I don't know...I liked Gold and Silver, but was it really necessary to go back to the Kanto region when we were just there the previous generation? :/
