  1. No, because it's too much of a mood-breaker for mlp's lighthearted, comedy theme. Why do people keep pushing for a darker MLP? Why does anyone think that would be a good idea? Kinda impossible for it to be sad when she already has a replacement home (a bigger and better one, too), before the episode even begins. Unless it's supposed to be sad because of the memories she had from living there, but eh. Not really sad enough to even bother with, and they shouldn't be trying to have that that kind of stuff in the series anyway, because mood-breaker.
  2. I don't think you understand what dark really is. I'm talking death, murder, horror (actual horror), gore, rape, tragedy, war, genocide, severe mental trauma. All of what you listed are extremely tame, something bad happening does not equal dark, that's called conflict, which is necessary in any story. You may argue that the moment where Philomena bursting into flames and turning to ash was dark, but within moments, she was reborn, preventing it from being a truly dark moment (there wasn't even any blood or gore, or graphic immolation). Dark would be Death Note, Hannibal Lector, Game of Thrones, etc., Fallout 3, Law and Order, etc. Or, a dark comedy example, the Pony .Mov series (particularly the infamous Shed.mov). Tho MLP occasionally takes a darker than usual route, it never, at any point, goes all the way with it. I know you're arguing in support of a darker MLP, but you and everyone else who want that SERIOUSLY need to understand that ANY good story cannot have conflicting moods going on. Some work together, others don't. You can't have a serious story and then suddenly throw some comedy in there, or have comedy in a horror or sad story. MLP could only have dark if it was a comedy (because of the existence of black humor), based on the silly looking character designs that make it impossible to take seriously. But even then, it would've had to have started out that way. Because of the fact that it didn't, you can't suddenly change the mood of a series without it being too jarring to the audience.
  3. And then he did a follow up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFp9PM5r1q8
  4. 2017? Jeeze, well, they did say the show would be around for 5 more years.
  5. As I just said in the other thread about this, the show is consistently light-hearted and silly, adding serious, dark tones to it would clash HORRIBLY. It shouldn't be any darker. I'm shocked at how many people don't understand that you can't have clashing moods in a story.
  6. Any story that's inconsistent in mood is a bad story. Some moods, I believe, can work together without clashing (horror and sad go well with eachother I think), but serious and comedy, for example, do not. MLP is conistently light-hearted and comedic, so it suddenly being dark and or serious would be too jarring. That, and just LOOK at the characters: Does this look like something you could take seriously in a dark setting? The designs are too exaggerated and silly looking to be taken seriously. It just can't work. As I said, mixing a light-hearted comedy with dark and serious tones is a recipe for bad storytelling.
  7. I'd rather they just stopped making villains because they've proven to be either incapable of writing a compelling villain plot with a 44 minute run time, or just not possible.
  8. From what I've heard about it, anyone who washes they're hands before touching anything going into their mouths, and avoids letting anything touch an open wound will almost be guaranteed to not get it. I've noticed that barely anyone washes they're hands before eating (unless there's something visible on them), which I don't understand. Those people are probably screwed.
  9. I don't care for most alcohol. I've never understood why people like it, and getting drunk. I've never been fully drunk, but I can't imagine why anyone would find being in such a state enjoyable. And from what I've seen, a lot of people just drink without getting drunk. So what are they even getting out of that? It's basically just expensive piss-flavored liquid. It's almost as if they just drink it because of some strange cultural tradition.
  10. Irrationality. I'm a completely rational-thinking person, so anything irrational naturally causes my brain to go haywire.
  11. I don't stop liking things for becoming popular because I'm not a damn hipster.
  12. Nothing. Unlike most people, I don't think people should be given gifts just because a certain day of the year has occurred (and yes, that includes birthdays).
  13. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, definitely. A very solid hack and slash spectacle fighter. Despite how short it is (6 hours), I've put close to 200 or more hours from replaying and doing the VR missions.
  14. Yeah, it's pretty damn generic, story wise. And Let It Go isn't even that good, but people made it out to be like TEH BEST SONG EVARZ. And the fanart on DA for months after it came up, for fuck's sakes. There was so damn much. I can't imagine why it's so popular. Tho I do think I know why people loved Elsa so much, and that's entirely do to her looks+ice powers.
  15. I don't see why people are upset over this. Just accept the terms of service (like you would've anyway). I feel like the only reason people are complaining is because they're being forced to or else they can't play, when, like I said, they would've just accepted it anyway.
  16. I stopped taking him seriously after his Metal Gear Rising review.
  17. At one point, but after a while it just became unbearably dull. They typically just talk about off-topic shit and ignore the game (and don't read instructions), then bitch when they can't figure out what to do. and rarely does a humorous moment happen. It's just mindless garbage at this point.
  18. Since when? Also I don't see why people care when a famous person joins a fandom, it's just another person.
  19. Yeah I've heard about this, also that they reject stories for minor spelling errors. There's even an anti-EQD group on fimfiction: http://www.fimfiction.net/group/450/i-hate-equestria-daily
  20. Ugg, that guy can make some good points, but he's too easily offended. He can't understand when certain things like joking about incest are, you know, a JOKE (for example, he got angry when reviewing the Friendship is Witchcraft episode over the incest plot, particularly during the song when twilight sang the line "it's not creepy". He actually shouted "YES IT IS" straight-fucking-faced. He honestly could not comprehend that it was not meant to be taken seriously, it was painfully obvious that the song was making a joke out of the incest). He also thinks that kids are easily traumatized, that any somewhat scary image would severely fuck a child's mind up (like the monster in A Pal For Gary.) That and I hated how he got all angry that people didn't like Magical Shittery Cure, not able to understand people had legitimate reasons to dislike it, you know, because it was rushed and pointless. I honestly can't take the dude seriously at this point. As for reviewers I like, I don't really care for any of them (save for Jerry Peet and Anthony C). Than I learned that Jerry Peet is a hypocritical, SJW asshole.
  21. Forcing in an ideology that I find morally offensive that the writers clearly want me to empathize with, and or a plot hole destroys any believability in the continuity of the canon.
  22. Youtube, not sure if Hasbro is still having the episodes taken down, tho. Hope not.
  23. Magical Mystery Cure, I don't care what anyone says, even if you can justify the plot holes (which I may or may not have at one point already), it was still a rushed, shitty plot that tried to do way too much with way too little time. That and the princess part was pointless because no reason has ever been given for their being another princess. There was never any indication that Equestria was in need of more rulers. Add to that the fact that Twilight had never shown any interest in being one, and the whole thing was a meaningless. The episode existed for the sole purpose of selling princess Twilight toys.
  24. I dunno, I think the show's style would be very fitting for anime, TBH, so I think I'd be fine with it.
