  1. I'm a girl and tend to call myself a "brony" over "pegasister", as it just seems more natural to me for fans to have the same name rather than dividing it over gender. But if other girls (or guys) would rather call themselves a pegasister, or just not use a fan name at all, then of course that's totally fine too! As others have said, it's up to you and no one else what you want to call yourself - no one should have labels they don't want forced on them. We're all fans here regardless of what we call ourselves
  2. Sooooo...how about that Next ep can't come soon enough~
  3. Huh, maybe this is unpopular, but I really enjoyed this episode! Then again I might be a liiiittle biased, because Coco and Rarijack I'm pretty sure they're building to something with all the "Twilight being disappointed the map doesn't call her" moments...I assume so anyway, otherwise there didn't really seem to be a point to making such a thing of her being ~soooooo bored~? It was cute I guess *shrug* As for Rarijack, I've seen some people complaining that they didn't fight or bicker enough, but I actually really liked that - it shows how far their friendship is come, and how much more they understand and support each other (though still have their differences, like AJ rolling her eyes at Rarity's fashion policing XD) now I think AJ was more interesting in this ep though - she didn't feel OOC for me at all, but then I've always kinda headcanoned her as being uncomfortable in the big city/at formal events etc because she didn't have a good time staying there as a filly? Anyway, I really liked getting to see another side of her, since she's usually so confident of everything in Ponyville - just the scene with her crossing the street illustrated that really well, I thought, it was really relatable? Also they didn't go for the obvious "simple country folk don't get city life" gags - it seemed to me anyway, it was more that AJ had this image of herself as a smalltown pony with nothing to contribute to the big city, but the ep was all about everypony coming together, and as Rarity said, AJ discovering she might have more in common with them than she thought (even if she might not like to admit it) - there doesn't have to be a divide between small town/big city ponies, and everyone can do their bit to contribute (And obligatory shipper squee moment: AJ catching Rarity when she fainted! Rarity buying AJ a new hat! I know there were more little moments/looks between them that I can't remember now, but I just love these two together so much ) Also: Coco!!!! I do agree it would have been nice if she had actually DONE more, but she was ridiculously adorable as ever and I love that we got a little of her backstory - how she looked up to Charity whatsherface (only just watched the ep so I can't remember all the details XD), and how much the play meant to her - it makes a lot of sense for her to take the costume designing route rather than the pony equivalent of high fashion, and makes her a more interesting character IMO, having her be based in pony-Brooklyn and wanting to bring the community together with the play. And I loved her little exchange with AJ about the "boots" expression - so cute, and one of those tiny little character moments that somehow adds so much, that this show does so well <3 The moral of this episode was also really nice - about everyone being able to do their bit to contribute to the community, however big or small, and how the crowd of ponies watching the play slowly grew felt very natural - I also liked that the first pony to notice was a colt, a nice bit of going against gender stereotypes there c: In general the Manehattan setting was used really well imo, by focusing on a different theme/part of the city than Rarity Takes Manehattan. Though the solution did maybe come a bit quickly, it was also nice to have a low-drama ep with no disasters or monsters or anything like that, so yeah, I liked this one a lot ^^
  4. I really enjoyed this ep I've been wanting a Rarity & Dashie ep for aaaages, and this one was lots of fun! Might be a liiittle biased as she's my second best pony, but Rarity in particular was on point in this ep for me - all the film noir stuff and costume changes were great fun, but I also loved her attention to detail and picking up on subtle clues (like the particular way Wind Rider said "heh"! And how Dash's hair had to have been cut rather than fallen out) when Dash thought she was just getting distracted by fashion or whatever, it felt very natural and fitting to her character. And when she was sweet-talking those stallions, I did immediately think "oooh some people aren't gonna like this" But I actually like that too, and that it's part of her character - she is a business-savvy pony, and she knows how to use her charms to her advantage and personally I don't think there's anything wrong with that, as long as she isn't overtly lying to or manipulating anypony (and I also don't think the show presents it as "look girls you should totally flirt with guys so they'll do stuff for you!!" - it's more neutral, neither good or bad but necessary in some situations). Plus you can't deny you're much more likely get ponies to open up that way than Dash's...slightly less subtle approach RariDash friendship was really cute in this ep too, with how Rarity immediately defended her and how Rainbow apologized at the end for not believing in Rarity's methods, aw they didn't really mention this in the ep, but Rarity and Dash are both ambitious ponies and I always felt like they admire/respect that about each other despite their differences. And since Rarity also came close to messing up her dream with the Canterlot boutique, it makes sense that she'd want to make sure the same didn't happen to her friend with the Wonderbolts, and ties in nicely with the previous ep (as does seeing Sassy Saddles again, yay for continuity!) idk, just some random thoughts there~ I agree the Wonderbolts side of things was a bit iffy (especially Soarin, who I felt like should have a bit more faith in Dash since they seemed to bond in Rainbow Falls) with how quick they were to believe that Dash had done it, etc, although I guess you could argue it was the only option that made sense to them, but yeah...I think they've been written a bit inconsistently in general, tbh (see difference between Wonderbolts Academy and Rainbow Falls) and probably having multiple writers didn't help with that. And yeah, the culprit was super obvious, but I didn't really mind that as I don't watch MLP for shocking plot twists Although seeing Spitfire's mum was cool! Oh and I appreciated the Sherlock & Watson ponies in the background of that one part too
  5. Thoughts on the last two eps! Nightmare Hospital: Song for Sadie: Hope the next episode has more Gems though (aside from Steven obviously)! the humans are great and all, but I need my gay space rocks fix
  6. I don't really care about OCs in general - that side of the fandom doesn't interest me because I prefer talking about the canon characters. Probably because I'm horrible at creating OCs myself Same with the popular fan characters like Fluffle Puff, Button Mash etc - I don't hate them or anything, but I find them a little...overexposed. I do, however, really hate the trend for being super critical of others' OCs - it's supposed to be fun, who cares if someone wants to make a red and black alicorn OC or whatever? It's not canon, it doesn't affect you, let them have fun with their own character. As far as I'm concerned, all OCs are "good" OCs as long as their creator enjoys drawing/writing them. (Unless someone asks for feedback/criticism of their OC, obviously then that's fine - I'm talking about people who are just unnecessarily mean about random people's OCs for no reason)
  7. Aww, poor Spike :/ I agree that most Spike-focused eps (though not all!) have not been great, but I would miss him if he was written out of the show - especially his relationship with Twilight. He's a great supporting character in many episodes though, and not just for comic relief, so I admit I'd probably be fine if he was still around but we never had another Spike-centric ep the way they've been written so far... I wonder if the writers struggle with Spike because he doesn't have an obvious "goal", like the M6 or CMC? But I think there are lots of directions they could take with his character that they've hinted at before, but never IMO gotten quite right - Dragon Quest, for example, had some interesting potential for Spike to be ~figuring out who he is and his place in the world as a dragon living with ponies, but then they kinda messed up by making all the other dragons one-dimensional jerks, so it would be nice to have Spike meet some dragons who weren't all assholes (I enjoyed the Spike/Luna Friends Forever comic for this reason). I think ideally, they should write Spike a bit like the CMC - still young and making mistakes/doing dumb stuff sometimes, but actually learning from them, which he never seems to, and learning to appreciate his own talents/uniqueness more while fitting in with the ponies, I think would be fitting with the theme of the show. And it would be nice to see more of Spike interacting with others, rather than being left on his own to inevitably mess up which most Spike eps seem to be – a Spike/CMC teamup ep could be fun, Spike/Celestia or Spike/Luna (again inspired by the IDW comics) or even Spike/Big Mac since we know they hang out now! I'm sure some sort of plot point could be made out of Spike's mailbox ability, or some situation where they require a dragon, or...literally anything that isn't "local dragon ruins everything" (sorry ) . But yeah - even if decent Spike eps are just too much to ask, I don't think they should write him out of the show. I think he's a good supporting character and his relationship with Twilight is just too sweet to lose
  8. I would not, because I'd be too worried about hurting the horse in some way. I don't know much about RL ponies/horses, but even if dye and stuff isn't harmful they might not like having their coats/manes/tails messed about with, having stuff stuck on them, etc. I know some people do that with their pets, but I wouldn't do it with my dog either. I'd also probably completely mess it up since I can barely make myself look nice when I try, let alone a horse The Flutterpony edit looks cute though! But I'd say photoshop is fine for that, no need to get real animals involved
  9. EQG I'd say the Humane 6 are probably around 16-17ish - I can't remember if it says what year they're in, but IIRC they're older than freshman? Sunset Shimmer is older I think, maybe 17-18ish. I personally don't think the EQG ages correspond to their pony ages, though it's hard to know for sure - in FiM they have jobs and responsibilities that makes them seem at least early 20s, but then we don't know what age ponies leave school, etc in Equestria so it's possible that 16 year old ponies, say, leave school/mature faster than their human equivalent? Meh, I'm happy to go with my headcanons until we get confirmation either way, but I don't think it matters too much
  10. I'm writing fanfic and it's not even shipping (or pony), what is this?? XD

  11. Awesome, thank you! ...Could I possibly see it without the effect? (with just the colours in the middle) Only if it's not too difficult and you have time, of course, I completely understand if it's not possible Thanks again~!
  12. *poke* IDK if this has been posted here yet, but thought I'd share anyway just for pure awesome: my current desktop background! I've seen a lot of SU ponies but this is one of my favourites, all the character designs are spot on imo I'm so happy both SU and MLP are back in September~! I miss my two favourite shows
  13. I didn't HATE it, but considering all the hype, I found Inside Out to be...just okay :/ usually I get emotional at movies and stuff pretty easily and loads of people were saying they cried, etc, but this one it was like yeah, cool concept and I could see what they were going for, but it just didn't hit me in the feels like it was supposed to, I guess? Even when (I also disliked the short thing with the volcanoes, but idk how unpopular that is )
  14. Name: Coco before Pommel Text Wanted: Coco before Pommel Specific Colors?: Mint green, purple/lilac, light blue, pink Images: Anything with Coco Pommel, Fluttershy, Rarity, Octavia and Sunset Shimmer (if you can fit them all in) would be amazing! If you can't fit that many in, just Coco, Fluttershy and Rarity is fine c: Donor Size or Regular?: regular Extra Details?: feel free to add any sort of effects, or none, whatever you think looks good! I'm sure it will look awesome as all your other sigs do Thank you so much! <3
  15. Probably not at all because I have a problem with randomly disappearing for ages and not posting anywhere near as much as I used to ^^;; But hopefully at least a few people I talk to on here remember me~ So like...3/10, maybe? I haven't changed my username or avatar in ages, though, so that might make me a tiny bit more recognisable to some people, maybe, idk
  16. Not gonna lie, it would probably be kinda weird at first and I'd be a bit shy...like, what if I rubbed their bellies the wrong way/did something wrong and they got mad or something? I assume you'd have to refine your technique a bit for each pony, so I'd probably ask them how they liked it before diving straight in like I would with my dog or something...And I can't believe how much I'm overthinking this ridiculous topic XD But in general - hell yeah, best job ever! I'd also do it for free obviously, but idk if I would actually pay to rub a pony's belly...unless it was super cheap
  17. OMC, how adorable I'll join!! CB is awesome and totally deserves a fanclub~ Pinkorita ftw
  18. Ooh, tough one! I think probably Pearl because of her anxiousness and insecurity, how she struggles to hold herself together and do the right thing for those she loves. And maybe also a little Steven, because I'm generally the one going "guyyyys, why can't we all get along?" when my friends/family are fighting, and I do try to be optimistic and nice to people and stuff :3 If we can have non-Gems though, also Connie. "I'm going to die without making a single friend" pretty much made me fall in love with her instantly...kinda similar to Fluttershy, in some ways now I think about it, but yeah I can definitely relate to being kinda shy and awkward and not feeling like you're special/interesting enough in general. And maybe also a tiny bit of Amethyst because I am also super lazy and constantly eating XD
  19. Hiiii, Shimmers!! Loving all the awesome art, I really missed hanging out here can't wait for Friendship Games!! It looks like Sunset's going to have a big role again, hopefully~ ^__^ Also, I've been planning on cosplaying Sunny for a while now, so I thought I'd ask you guys: which do you prefer, her old/original outfit or the new one (with the green dress)? I like both, but I can't decide...
  20. I just finally caught up on the latest Stevenbomb and more feels and amazingness!! <3 ((I can't do spoiler tag so SPOILERS for recent eps if you haven't seen them!)) Fiiiinally a Garnet/Pearl fusion!! Sardonyx was awesome, but aww, poor Amethyst D: it's kinda interesting how much Pearl and Amethyst both look up to Garnet and are desperate for her approval/for her to fuse with them. I really felt for Amethyst when Pearl/Garnet/Steven were all hugging - it must be hard for her that everyone loves Sardonyx while Sugilite was such a disaster :c Peaaaaaarl no what are you doing bb D: when we saw her fixing the communications tower, I was convinced it was Peridot impersonating her (all Gems can shapeshift, right? Though only Amethyst seems to do it regularly) at first! It was a dumb thing to do for sure, but watching her so sorry and desperate to make up with Garnet was painful, and Garnet ignoring her. And Ruby and Sapphire!! Really cool to have more of them and each of their distinct personalities, which you can see in Garnet - Ruby's passion and anger and Sapphire's trying to be calm and cool, and dealing with her feelings by literally freezing them out. It was funny how Ruby was boiling and Sapphire was freezing everything - poor Steven and Greg, they just wanted a nice vacation XD The stuff with Onion's mum (forgot her name, sorry ) and Amethyst being friends was really interesting too! It felt like we got to see another side to Amethyst, her being all self-deprecating and "I'm not as cool as you". And...they actually made Onion cute!! In a creepy way...it was sweet how he and Steven ended up bonding over the Guys/Gals again. Peridot is such a dork I like how she started out all cool and mysterious when we first saw her and is now just like "nyah you can't catch me~!" X3 Pearl went a bit crazy trying to catch her, just attack without planning carefully - it reminded me a little bit of Lesson Zero Twilight at times she was just so desperate to make it up to Garnet, and their talk when the walls were closing in, my god. "I'm just a Pearl, I'm useless on my own" (which also raises interesting questions about "just a Pearl", and when Jasper called her a "defective Pearl" - I know there's theories that the Pearls, whatever they are/were, were a kind of subservient race in Gem society, dedicated to serving those above them, which would make sense with Pearl's dedication to Rose? aah, so many questions!!) , and Garnet telling her that she wasn't and just ;___; all over the place. I just love how all the Gems are pretty messed up in their own way, but they love each other and I love them all so much and I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH *squishes them all* (...I actually kinda feel guilty about being more into SU than MLP atm, lol, is that weird? >.>;; I just never expected to get as into this show as I am, as you can probably see from my rambling X3)

  22. Wow, so many AS ponies out there! *waves* I was diagnosed with it when I was about 8 - I had a lot of problems when I was younger (school was pretty much hell, college and uni only slightly better), but I'm told/would like to think my social skills have improved a lot - though I've definitely had to work at it - since then so it's not as obvious. I think it's kinda interesting how MLP, and fandoms in general, have so many AS/autistic people - probably to do with one of the common traits/symptoms being obsessive interests, and clearly (one of) ours happens to be ponies I also really hate it when people use "autistic" as an insult, having something you struggle with your whole life and is intrinsically a part of you whether you want it or not used as some kind of punchline is really shitty but yeah, anyway, I'm always here for anypony who wants to talk, about this or anything at all really
