  1. West Side Story (2021) - A beautiful remaining of a classic musical. The acting is top notch, the songs are catchy, the direction from Steven Spielberg is masterful. 9 out of 10.
  2. Encanto - A beautifully animated and poignant film about family and Hispanic culture with great songs. Definitely one of Disney's best. 9 out of 10.
  3. The Mane Attraction - A metaphor for how people in the entertainment industry are taken advantage of by those around them. The Cutie Map - The apocalyptic futures get progressively darker and darker as the episode rolls on.
  4. Eternals - Marvel's latest film is a messy and uneven, but ambitious, thought-provoking, and still entertaining enough. 6.5 out of 10.
  5. Last Night In Soho - Edgar Wright's new thriller might be the director's most unique and stylish movie yet. Loved the performances, the filmmaking, and the twists. 8.5 out of 10. The French Dispatch - If you're a Wes Anderson fan like I am, you'll probably end up enjoying this quirky comedy anthology like me because it has all of Anderson's hallmarks. Though if you're not a fan, this won't be the one that wins you over. 8 out of 10.
  6. Great news, they announced that Part 2 is officially confirmed!
  7. The Last Duel - Ridley Scott's best film since "The Martian". Great acting, engaging story, and a timely critique of systemic misogyny. Not for the faint of of heart, though. 9 out of 10. Dune (2021) - A sprawling and ambitious adaptation of the novel with amazing cinematography, strong acting, and a wonderful score from Hans Zimmer. 9 out of 10.
  8. I definitely got androgynous vibes when I saw her in the movie. Nice tidbit.
  9. Damn, this bites! RIP Mr. Goldner and screw cancer!
  10. No Time to Die - An exciting and emotional (if overlong) finale to Daniel Craig's tenure as James Bond. Will probably be polarizing amongst some fans, but I really liked it. 9 out of 10.
  11. Literally everything this movie was addressing was tackled back in Friendship is Magic. It's just so weird to see people acting like this is the first time MLP has said racism is bad.
  12. Personally, I quite liked it. It will take some getting used to, but I think I'll grow as attached to Sunny Starscout and the others just like I came to be invested in Twilight Sparkle and Co.
  13. My Little Pony: A New Generation - A strong and very entertaining continuation of the series with a poignant message about prejudice. 8 out of 10.
  14. I think 3 - 5 seasons would be a good run for this iteration.
  15. Completely impossible to say at this point. Being a direct sequel to the most popular iteration of the frsnchise will certainly help. But on the other side of the coin, G5 invites comparisons to G4 due to the association. It's also hard to know how long Netflix will keep the show around. Might last a full 3-5 seasons + specials, might get canceled, etc.
  16. Malignant - A creepy but uneven horror movie with an a bonkers and violent third act. Definitely going to be divisive for a lot of people.
  17. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - Top tier MCU movie. Breathtaking action, moving story involving family and legacy, a fantastic villain, and I really like Shang-Chi himself as a character. Can't wait to see more from in the MCU. 9.5 out of 10.
  18. And also learned from the things the G4 writers got right. Let's not be exclusively negative.
