  1. Personally, I quite liked it. It will take some getting used to, but I think I'll grow as attached to Sunny Starscout and the others just like I came to be invested in Twilight Sparkle and Co.
  2. My Little Pony: A New Generation - A strong and very entertaining continuation of the series with a poignant message about prejudice. 8 out of 10.
  3. I think 3 - 5 seasons would be a good run for this iteration.
  4. Completely impossible to say at this point. Being a direct sequel to the most popular iteration of the frsnchise will certainly help. But on the other side of the coin, G5 invites comparisons to G4 due to the association. It's also hard to know how long Netflix will keep the show around. Might last a full 3-5 seasons + specials, might get canceled, etc.
  5. Malignant - A creepy but uneven horror movie with an a bonkers and violent third act. Definitely going to be divisive for a lot of people.
  6. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - Top tier MCU movie. Breathtaking action, moving story involving family and legacy, a fantastic villain, and I really like Shang-Chi himself as a character. Can't wait to see more from in the MCU. 9.5 out of 10.
  7. And also learned from the things the G4 writers got right. Let's not be exclusively negative.
  8. Candyman (2021) - A hip, timely, and beautifully shot reiminaging of the original film. Loved how uniquely the kills were shot. The ending is a bit rushed, though. 8 out of 10.
  9. The Protege - Not the best action movie I've seen all year, but an entertaining one. Maggie Q kicks ass and Michael Keaton proves he's still got it. 7 out of 10.
  10. Absolutely. I look forward to seeing where the franchise goes next now that they have a working blueprint.
  11. I enjoyed what I saw, but I reckon this movie is going to be the cause of a lot of... discussion when people see it.
  12. It feels distinct from G4 while also retaining much of what made the previous iteration work: the humor, character interactions, and dialogue. All signs point toward the movie being decent.
  13. To be honest, I think going straight to Netflix is for the best. The G5 show is going to debut there, so why not have the movie as well? I'm also certain that this would have flopped hard in theaters (even without a pandemic).
  14. Well, many G4 alumni are returning, so that is to be expected.
  15. The designs look a lot better in motion. Gotta say, I feel good going into this.
  16. He might end up being my favorite character. He's like the Steve Rogers of the group.
  17. The Suicide Squad - A vast improvement over the first film in every way. It's action-packed and graphic in its brutality, but also very heartfelt and emotional. Once again, James Gunn proves he's one of the best directors working today. My favorite DC film thus far. 9 out of 10.
  18. Hoping to get a better sense of what the tone of the movie will be like.
  19. At long last, we'll get our first official look at the new movie.
  20. The Matrix sequels. While they are nowhere near the cultural milestone that the original film was and they get a little too dense for their own good, I admire the story that the Wachowskis tried to tell. I appreciate how they expanded upon the lore and mythology of the Matrix. Reloaded and Revolutions are flawed, but they have their moments of brilliance and are at least watchable.
