  1. 1. Sunset Shimmer. Seriously, I don't care how many Equestria Girls films they make, just as long as the second most overrated character in the fandom never, ever makes so much as a cameo appearance in the show. 2. No more villain reformations. Seriously, we know that "throw friendship at any problem and it is guaranteed to work 100% of the time" is the message the show is trying to send, but enough is seriously enough.
  2. Honestly, the only thing I'm interested in from the revealed upcoming episodes is Spike befriending the changeling, but it's mostly only because I think this could offer some nice development for him, since he's introduced to someone who can also relate to being an outsider. I don't care about dumb gimmicks like fake zombies.
  3. Legend of Everfree: More trite, pointless, nonsensical drivel from a franchise that really only has a single thing going for it.

I'll probably skip it like I did FG.

  4. Cute banner, but needs more Applejack. :(

      Yes!!! Applejack is bae XD

  5. Clearly, as far as the comics are concerned, Twilight is a massively OP Mary Sue whose abilities are virtually limitless. >_>

I haven't read many of the comics - which ones are the most glaring example of this?

Sure glad I haven't gotten into the comics past issues 13 and 14.

  6. Can't wait to see how Big Mac and Discord interact.
  7. MEANWHILE, IN PONYVILLE... Honestly, though, changelings feel like old news at this point. And I hate being reminded that Flurry Heart exists.
  8. You know, I really wouldn't have minded a longer hiatus. Two months would have been fine.

To be honest, i have no idea, why they start at the end of July. It's still in the middle of the summer and most kids are still away with their parents. Bad business move imo.

At least it's coming before Equestria Girls 4, which is sounding just as dumb and pointless as all the rest.

  9. No, that's what we thought would happen. Instead, we got an occasionally-recurring character who only appears when it's convenient for Twilight, and who still lacks a place within the mane six's dynamic.
  10. Ugh, seriously? My opinion of Rainbow Dash has been gradually dwindling ever since Tanks for the Memories, and this sounds like yet another episode that won't be doing her any favors...
  11. Yes, each of those people should truly be ashamed of themselves for having opinions that make you feel insecure about the show. In fact, I'd say they all owe you an apology. Ironically, I'm almost certain that the "majority" of the fandom have been mostly positive towards season 6. In fact, I would honestly wager that you've come across more people with mixed opinions towards it, and far less people who have flat-out hated it. The reason you have insecurities is because you, like several others in the fandom, do not wish to entertain the notion that the show may have dropped in quality and season 6 really just isn't that good. So you've made this thread, probably hoping to create a circle-jerk of fans who are quick to proclaim the the show is still just as perfect as it ever was and that those who believe otherwise are simply content to hate it no matter what. Because clearly, it doesn't matter that many cartoons struggle to retain their quality once they move beyond 100 episodes. Because clearly, it doesn't matter that nearly every single one of FiM's veteran writers have since left, which is normally something that almost never bodes well for a show's continued quality. Because clearly, it doesn't matter that seasonal rot is indeed a thing, and few cartoons manage to stay immune to it, especially when they cross over 100 episodes. Honestly, I truly doubt that there's a single person who has posted in this thread that truly cares whether or not you continue watching the show. It's perfectly fine if you continue watching and disagree with the notion that the show's quality has dropped, but it doesn't make the opposite opinion any less valid for those who hold it.
  12. I am so sick to death of the insecurity about the fandom's criticisms of season 6. More power to you if you disagree with said criticisms, but don't act like others are wrong for expressing them.

Because they've only started becoming prevalent now. The notion that the show has dropped in quality can never be accepted, so the problem is obviously just the people with criticisms, who apparently should be equated with mindless haters.

      Mesme Rize

It's my opinion, but i think you make too much of a big deal about that. Let them scream for all we care. It's not like they can take our opinions.

      Cleverclover

Yeah. Anyway, how've you been lately. :)

  13. Oh, for crying out loud.... Yet another thread offering a genuine opportunity to equate anyone who has criticisms of the show as a hater who is simply content to trash the show for all eternity. You know what, let's just lay it down straight: The show is perfect. It has been perfect, it always will be perfect. The notion that it has dropped in quality with season 6 is so outlandish that it cannot be entertained in the slightest. Because it's perfect. There is no such thing as a bad FiM episode. If this show has any problems at all, it's simply the haters who can't appreciate that every single episode is a work of art that is worthy of praise. Let's all just accept this, and move on.
  14. What's up? Did I miss anything this week?

  15. Has Powerpuff Girls 2016 gotten any better recently?

Recently, Viral Spiral and Bubbles of the Opera came out. Some, including Mr. Enter, said they're good, but I'm not too sure. I'll have to look 'em up myself.

@DQ: I suppose they're worth checking out, then. But honestly, I'm sick of the sporadic level of quality this show has.

@Nuke: So did I, which is why it was the point where I pretty much decided to quit the show.

Didn't like Bubbles of the Opera. It dealt with Bubbles going through something similar to an identity crisis purely based on the notion that she's "the cute one", but I really don't think it was done very well at all, and it certainly didn't justify her actions.

  16. Still, I just don't think it's satisfying enough. I just think they deserve more than what they have. Hell, for all we know, Applejack's family is still in the position where just one bad season could potentially mean the death for their business. Surely, they have earned more financial security by now?
  17. The fact that only Twilight's development ever seems to go anywhere. The rest of the mane five seem to move at a snail's pace in comparison. Twilight became an alicorn princess in half the time Rainbow Dash was able to become a Wonderbolt. I also hate how Applejack, Pinkie, and Fluttershy never received any goals to work toward. They definitely feel like they're in stagnation at this point.
  18. Yes. I'll likely always feel that Twilight was a far superior character as a unicorn. I detested her in season 4. Her character flaws and ability to make mistakes were largely removed and she frequently acted as a moral compass for the rest of the mane six in an apparent effort to make her perfect. She was also glorified heavily over the mane five whilst also being thrust into intense fight scenes an attempt to make us gawk over how amazingly badass she is. But now that her flaws have returned and she's become more likable to me, I still don't really like her much. One of the reasons is due to how much I feel she's wasting her status as a princess. Back when Twilight was a unicorn, we frequently saw her busy in her studies. Now that she's a princess, we barely see her busy anymore at all. She simply sits around and stacks books into a pyramid because she's bored of waiting to be called for a mission by the map, and does not take any initiative to do something progressive with the title she's been gifted. Honestly, how in the the hell was she busier as a unicorn than she is as an alicorn princess? And on top of it all, I really just detest just her immensely aggravating tendency to be the center of attention at all times, even in episodes that are supposed to be putting focus on another character. Unfortunately, poor Fluttershy is the most frequent victim of alicorn Twilight's spotlight-hogging. In It Ain't Easy Being Breezies, Fluttershy was rendered unable to solve the problem that she helped cause just so that Twilight could step in and save the day with a highly contrived spell that had "deus-ex-machina" written all over it, immediately making her the hero of the episode. In The Hooffields and McColts, she utterly steamrolled Fluttershy, apparently forgetting that she was even there as she attempted to solve the problem all on her own. I simply didn't find Twilight as annoying back when she was a unicorn. I actually liked her quite a lot.
  19. If I had to guess, I'd say that she suddenly believed Twilight's words about what changing the past would do to the present and had a sudden stroke of self-preservation. So she simply decided to accept Twilight's offer in order to give herself some time to find another way to harm her in a way that would not also do harm to herself. Anyway, at this point, I think the notion that Starlight could relapse back to evil is a possibility that probably shouldn't be ignored. She has yet to make a single appearance in which her past as a villain wasn't brought up in some way. For whatever reason, she's not allowed to move forward, which I think is highly troubling since there's really nothing to gain from her past being brought up. The only reason I can think of why it continues to hang over her head is because we actually haven't seen the last of Starlight as a villain. Couple this with the fact that the writers are barely making any attempt to include her within the mane six, and it ultimately just feels like there's a lot of uncertainty where she's concerned.
  20. For the second time, I've logged on to find myself with 14 notifications. That's odd...

  21. Overhaul Newbie Dash. Rainbow Dash deserved a much better episode to usher in the closure of her lifelong goal.
  22. And yet, we still see Twilight as a unicorn in every single episode via the opening theme. Funny how that works. In any case, I would still take unicorn Twilight over alicorn Twilight any day of the week. I simply liked her more before she became the "Super Special Badass Uber Powerful Warrior Princess Goddess." But that's just me.
  23. Because alicorns are constantly portrayed to be apex race within FiM, to the point where every other pony race seems laughably inferior in comparison. The reason alicorn OCs are so common is because when it comes down to it, why would anyone want to make OC that isn't the superior race? And no, the stereotypes concerning alicorns WERE NOT simply made up by the bronies. The writers actually fuel the perceptions that bronies have. Case in point: Flurry Heart. Despite being a baby, she's easily one of the most insanely overpowered characters in the show, and it's all because she's an alicorn.
  24. At this point, it's going to take a whole lot of quality episodes in the second half for my opinion on season 6 to improve. When season 5 went on hiatus last year, it had far less crap episodes and far more quality episodes under its belt. In my opinion, the crap has ultimately outweighed the quality this season. At least I do have some faith that it can be turned around.
  25. Please don't make assumptions about me. And before you do it, please don't label me as one of someone who is simply content to hate the show no matter what. My opinion of season 6 as of now has nothing to do with Starlight and nothing to do with the lack of adventure episodes. It has everything with how genuinely average and lackluster I have found many of the episodes to be.
