Explain how it is lazy writing though? Depends on how it is handled. Twilight didn't really desire to become an Alicorn either, she was aspiring to be something more along the lines of Starswirl actually (at least thats the way I see it) but Celestia was grooming her for the position just as she tried with Sunset (but didn't succeed). Fair enough. But if they had done the work to do so, even unintentionally like Twilight, wouldn't they earn theirs through merit as well? Possibly, but the potential to ascend may be restricted to only a few select ponies rather than being something flat out that everyone has a shot at. It is possible the other five could do all they possibly do and still not make it. I don't see the need to for the other five to ascend as I don't believe achieving their goals and future aspirations are contingent on such a thing, but if it has to happen then let them earn it in their own way through their own merits. Cadence was not her student and yet she achieved alicorn status. Cadence was enrolled into Celestia's school after Celestia adopted her as her niece. So she went in reverse order of what Twilight went through but the mechanics behind the ascension remains the same in these two cases as both of them reached that same magical realm that was depicited in MMC basedon the backstory given to her in that Crystal Heart Spell book. Hey, maybe Rainbow Dash can finally hope to get into the Wonderbolts Maybe she will finally make after she goes through all the proper procedures in order to so. It is not contingent on the direction the show takes with Twilight. Plus she is already in the reserves. A huge reason the show has been so successful is that the Mane Six were conceived with the idea that there isn't one absolutely correct way to be a girl/person. There are unhealthy patterns of thought and behavior that you should work to overcome, but personal growth is a continuous process. You will never be a finished product, and even if you somehow were to become one, that finished product might not necessarily resemble anybody else's. And that's awesome. Well said. Also Hasbro and the Staff are not actively sabotaging other's development in favor of Twilight. They are just trying to do their jobs while telling their stories with their franchise. No need for absurd conspiracy theories just because it may not be the direction that some would like it to be

I'd like to counterpoint this with a simple no, that's not true, don't bother reading them. That's not really a counterpoint, and just because you might not like them does not means others won't. Friends Forever issues have improving wells of late, and the main series is pretty decent for what it is. Frankly I am looking forward to the Fiendship Is Magic set of comics.

Does not make any sense considering none of the others desire to do such or thing or have done the work to do so. Just lazy writing, Plus it would dilute things further down with excessive alicorns at this point/ Well, we already know that ponies can be ascended by Celestia for next to nothing and that alicornification has no meaning or consequence. Wrong on both accounts. Twilight and Cadence both earned it through their merits, and the show has displayed consequences of such actions. which means Twilight will live much, much longer t I don't think this is going to be an issue on the show though, but technically Twilight can keep always making friends and by that token she won't outlive her friends. Especially when part of the reason why she ascended in the first place was to serve as confirmation that she was the special one among the mane six. Then you missed the point of her ascension entirely. Actually the reason against making the other five alicorns is almost the opposite the reason entirely. It would make everyone less unique or special, not just Twilight.

Why Was Certain Stuff Lauren Wanted Not Allowed

And when does Twilight read King Sombra's diary? I didn't even know he had one. In the upcoming issue of Fiendship is Magic focusing in King Sombra. If it's in the comics then it doesn't count. They're not canon to the show. It all takes place within the same continuity of the MLPFIM universe, so the comics are canon until directly stated otherwise. Being treated separate from the main show does not make it any less canon.

Once again this statement is not any different from their current policy, so it changes nothing. I have heard extensive things about the plots of several of the arcs, and honestly, they sound very un-FiMlike, which really makes me lack any interest in them. The main comics are entitled FIM and considering the approval process that goes behind them they are as FIM quality as anything else. However each arc is different so you are missing out on good stuff.

To stop jumping straight to a spell for a solution to just about anything. Such as? Twilight tends to use other solutions first before hitting the magic well. To stop violating the laws of nature. It is a fictional cartoon so I don't believe To stop casting spells which alter mind and bodies with such carelessness. Seemed to me like she took plenty of precautions with the Bat Spell, and she was quick to correct to the error. To stop using her friends as guinea pigs without their consent. Her friends all wanted to help the breezies, so using such a spell did not violate their wills or rights. Pinkie Pie even even consented to the plan, and the others could have backed away anytime. Guess what her friends actually have reason to place their trust in Twilight. And to stop leaving her magical mistakes without bothering to fix them (i.e. the orange-crossed frog and bird). That was more or less Pinkie Pie's fault by the way for distracting her and throwing her off her aim, but there has been no ill long term consequences as such. So you are complaining just for the sake of complaining, Alternate Twilight is far more likely to be evil for a time, but there are certain conditions that could influence Twilight to turn evil such as possible possession or even cursed artifacts like the alicorn amulet for example.

Once again screen-time is not the sole factor of a character's worth. You really should read the secondary sources as they make ample use of Celestia while expanding upon the character. Celestia clearly has far more use to the staff than she does to you at this point, and that's the only voice that matters truth be told, and I am not surprised to see you make such complaints as it seems like missed several key points or you have taken things out of context and distorted to make such faulty and emotionally charged assertions. Seems to me like you are stuck in the past and can't handle change as character's roles evolve with changing circumstances. Nor is Celestia useless to Twilight and I find it insulting you would trash their relationship like that. Twilight still has to take orders from Celestia and she still values her as a mentor and a pony to look up to even All I can say is thank goodness fans are not allowed to work the show or comics as they operate under a short term perspective while the staff tends to see things in the big picture. It might not be handled perfectly.

First off, this whole princess thing has been absolutely nothing but a huge party for Twilight thus far. It has been anything but a huge a party for Princess Twilight. She has been put to the brink of her limits in several major crises as depicted in Princess Twilight Sparkle, Twilight's Kingdom, and also the Equestria Girl films. Secondly she has been stressed with issues of inadequacy and also the all important meaningful question of what role does she want to play in Equestria as princess. She has also had to put up with some of the antics of her friends, and in some cases she has been socially and physically isolated by being placed on a pedestal by others. Sure there have been some perks along the way, but Twilight has had to pay the price as well as take on additional responsibilities along the way. I would hardly all this a huge party, and any lesser pony probably would have buckled under the strain that Twilight has had to face after ascension. So far she has been up to task. In fact, she was busier before she became a princess. Does she have any more assignments or reports to compile for Celestia? Nope. Actually it has been explicitly stated in show that Celestia has been sending Twilight more books to study in Trade Ya, and Twilight has been depicted or mentioned several times throughout Season 4 of continuing to study her magic. She also had to attend to some royal duties on occasion such as being the arbitrator in Trade Ya or having to help clean up all the dark magic in Inspiration Manifestation. If anything Twilight is just as busy if not more busier now as a Princess than she ever was as a student. The biggest problem here is the fact that Season 4 underplayed the whole princess angle which creates some confusion on certain matters. Does she have any more friendship lessons to learn, write about, and send her on a weekly basis? Nope. Twilight is no longer Celestia's student so she does not have to do such frivolous work, and the workload on this matter been cut down since Lesson Zero. She still has plenty of lessons of to learn though, and Season 4 made that clear with the friendship journal. It does not make sense that Twilight would be doing the same kind of work she was expected to do as student now that she is a princess. Different position brings new kinds of stresses, but you seem to be stuck in the past with such a comment as friendship letters and reports have not been relevant to the show since Season 2 with a few rare instances in Season 3. Fact is most morals or the lessons of episodes don't need to be spelled out again when most episodes are able to get the point across with needing to use such a tool. So I think that pretty much negates the notion of her being "thrust into the most stressful position imaginable." Not really. Twilight arguably feels far more pressure now than she did as a student because as a princess everyone looks up to her and seeks her for answers to many problems. This places far more pressure on her to know the answers lest she risks disappointing others which is what she hates to do, and this was made abundantly clear in Rainbow Rocks.. Now back the original question of the topic here, maybe it would have helped had some other pony questioned Twilight at times instead of more or less keeping it a personal issue that Twilight kept to herself. However Season 4 did a nice of job of handling the matter when it was relevant to the episode at hand here.
