  1. Indeed this daily question trend I am starting is directly influenced by the teachings of Socrates. I have run into a few problems with the idea of having a daily question trend though. These mostly have to do with not having enough time on my hands to run so large an operation. I will need volunteers to moderate subjects and keep them on track with the theme. If anyone wants to join the team pm me and I will give a response when available. I honestly did not expect this idea to take off so well. Thank you all for giving it a try and inspiring others to join in on it and make a contribution.
  2. I feel the exact same way. I love saying "Eeyup" to people who have no clue what I'm referencing. It's like having your own special secret that hides you when you need to be hidden, inspires you when you're in need of inspiration, and makes friends where previously you had none.
  3. If one were to go against me in a clash of will, I would surely lose. If one were to oppose my ideas, prepare to watch debate take a quantum leap in front of you.

  4. Your first assumption is correct. You will start off with the bare minimum to survive and are given incentive through advertisement and exposure to change the world around you and better yourself in the act. Media is an extremely effective tool in the hands of those who mean good and those who mean harm. In this case the people who are capable of using such tools are the advisers and supporters of the goals put forth by the leader. The leader(s) are in charge of keeping the goals that they want to change the country with on track while the advisers and an elected representative community are tasked with helping them achieve this and spreading their ideals. Leaders do have some power, that is all the power necessary to complete their goals but no more. Completing a goal that positively affects the country is the highest honor a citizen can have, and it is reflected in their retirement if said person chooses to. The resources used for country wide goals are held collectively by all relevant branches of government and can only be redistributed if there are ample left for completion of current goals. These resources are the form of tax that is issued from local community storage. Each of these storage stashes are collected from the local community and used like trading cards between governors who are kept in check by local community managers. Community managers are people who represent their local niche like the environmentalists, industrialists, etc. and are elected by their likewise supporters. Governors are elected from the community managers and must reach a minimum required experience in multiple areas (they must have support from multiple of the community managers to be elected, support from two conflicting groups is a sign of an ideal governor). This form of government will need additional ironing out but can be summarized as leaders>advisers>representative community>governors<>community managers>citizens. I can hear peoples brains popping from the amount of information I just posted.
  5. My goal is to create a system that encourages you to find a niche in society through long term struggles. The current system in the US is flawed because the people who are rich only want to be even more rich. Power can never truly be distributed evenly (as communism pointed out) but it can be fluctuated wildly in such a way that people who abuse that power find themselves toppling to the ground. The media is a problem of it's own, providing a route of indirect control to many of the people capable of pulling those kind of strings. A system that recovers from mistakes and corrects them on it's own is one that we need now. What do you think would fix this problem you stated?
  6. I wonder what happens when you combine a lazy personality with a bold personality.

  7. I might just be a pretty well known brony on the forums soon, now that I'm starting my own daily question trend with the help of one other brony. Not to mention my first question took off like a rocket after posting.
  8. Basically the idea is that, for every activity a person does for the benefit of others he/she will be rewarded based on the amount of effort they put into it. If you do nothing for the good of the whole, the whole will still support you with a basic shelter, healthy food, and other basic needs. Contributing to the whole gives you a sort of general credit that you can use to requisition things from the government (more on that separate aspect later). It is a form of communism combined with capitalism that uses a process of elimination to ensure that many people who are generous end up accidentally at the top of the chain. Becoming a leader requires that you have gone above and beyond anyone's expectations and have a desire to contribute stronger than those around you. That is because in this system, the leader is stripped of almost all their privileges to ensure that he/she is dedicated enough to fulfill a goal to the point of breaking. The length of leadership will last for as long as the people will it to be. If one's goal is seen as right but cannot be fulfilled in a short period, it can eventually be fulfilled as long as the people are willing to let it. The system of leadership must be both capable of having no leader and many leaders without corruption. This is basically as far as I have gotten with the idea.
  9. I'll start off my idea, first one problem I notice with the world is the natural tendency for greed, all human beings have had this moment at one point in time when all they can think of is how much they want something. Money is also a contributing factor in this. I've been toying around with the thought of creating a system that doesn't grant power (in this case money) based on what you have, but instead off of what you have given. The opposite of greed is generosity, so if somehow we promoted generosity without giving in to greed, maybe that could help improve, but the fact that one cannot have something good without something evil to balance it nags at me. Is it possible to get around this obstacle?
  10. I am starting a daily question trend for the fandom. Thank you all so much for the support you've given so far.
  11. I have always been fascinated with how history has often repeated it's mistakes over and over. If every grand mind in the forum got together, maybe we can change this, do something good for the world as a whole. This could all start with a few simple questions. What in your eyes is a perfect world, a utopia? Brought to you by Equestria's newest philosopher, Tranquil Claw I'm thinking of starting a daily question for the forum to answer and discuss. Should I do this? I'll let you decide.
  12. I wonder if any other forums are as supportive as this... Anyways thanks to everyone who shared their story. I love reading all these positive and uplifting views on life because of this show. It goes to stand for what MLP truly is, what it can be, a loving and caring community in support of an amazing message to the world. Another thing this show gave me was a philosopher's view on the world as a whole. Before MLP I couldn't understand but 1 point of view, and the whole world seemed like a cruel and frightening place to me. Now I think not of the world's judgement, but of what I could possibly offer it... right now... that is nothing but my words and my wisdom. MLP made me feel a connection to Twilight that no other show could ever do, a connection to someone waiting for a chance, an opportunity, anything to rescue me from my hopeless spiral into a life centered on learning but never doing.
  13. I myself have found that My Little Pony has affected me in the best of ways. Before I got into the show I could easily relate my situation to Twilight's when she first entered. I used to be the lonely nerd who always thought the only thing that mattered were my grades. After this show I became one of those people you could be around and always feel comfortable with. My Little Pony even inspired me to create my own personal code that I strive to match each and every day. It simply states that you should be kind, generous, loyal, happy, and truthful (pretty much the elements of harmony) and that by following this you will be successful in making and keeping friends. So far it works above and beyond my expectations.
  14. Ron Paul all the way. He is actually a threat to the government (which is corrupt) and I am always in support of someone who can stand up for the people rather than the money. All this "patriotism" nonsense is to get people to think that meddling in other countries business is something we should do on a regular basis. I am saddened at the fact that America never even learned that lesson from Vietnam. Sure the great wars were important (not to mention we only entered when we actually were needed) but look at the facts, America has been at war almost constantly ever since we started out as a country. We lost the last sensible president with the death of JFK. Ron Paul is trying to revive this kind of leader who isn't in it for fame and glory, but for contribution. Of course most everyone here doesn't even know about him. That is because the media was paid off/forced to not show him in any of their broadcasts. Literally this election America lost yet again more of that "free" value that was held above all else in our days of founding. Search up "Ron Paul" in YouTube if you want a clue of what I'm ranting on about.
  15. Remember how ridiculous Twilight was when we first saw her in MLP FiM: Episode 1. Now imagine that same Twilight put into a negative environment like Crystal Prep and you see just how well this movie nailed it.
  16. Eh, I'm not sure an entire episode focused solely on 1 character is necessarily good. It makes more sense to have the star character (like Discord) face a challenge and overcome it with the help of others. That is the morale of the show after all, and it was very well portrayed in "Make New Friends But Keep Discord". Honestly neither Celestia nor Zecora have had an episode like this before.
  17. The downloadable upgrade didn't help me at all, in fact it slowed down my computer.
  18. Joined a few months back but only made myself known today in an introductory conversation. 2/10 I do hope one day that I will become an experienced writer with the help of all my not-yet-made friends.
  19. Hmmm... I'll have to say MLP Equestria Girls. I laughed so hard on some parts that I started crying. Does that count?
  20. If they use that same "magic rainbow beam that is somehow every villain's end at this point" cliche I am going to throw up rainbows all over my screen. I hope they don't resort to this in the third movie, however even the small bit about a giant shimmery unicorn being born from rainbow beams and then annihilating it's opposition with more rainbow beams... At least it's different each time.
  21. Zecora and Celestia seem like the two most popular choices for a background episode. Zecora seems to need a very revealing episode about her culture, history, etc. Celestia would require an episode that highlights her greatest struggles and how she eventually overcomes them, perhaps even a visual story of friendship lessons she herself learned in the old days.
  22. So I started off with Armorgames, then Roblox, then World of Tanks, then Space Engineers, then Sins of a Solar Empire, then YouTube, then so much I can't even list it all. Anyways I'm mostly the free to play type who never really spends money on anything. Gamer tag is usually TranquilClaws on everything I play. I tried to get a role play started on fan fiction but it never took sail. Hoping that'll be a whole new story here.
