Now that the first season of Tell Your Tale is over with the initial order of seventy episodes having finished its run, how do you guys feel about the season as a whole? I thought it was good for the most part. It's no Make Your Mark, but I was honestly impressed at how there were no bad episodes, at least to me. Only a handful of episodes came close to being mediocre like Sparky's Sick and the recap episodes in my eyes. Season 2 should be coming very soon, so take this opportunity while you have it to discuss what you're expecting from it now.

It's time to give this thread a bump because we now have three bunk criticisms from my list last year that were fully confirmed to be bunk by Make Your Mark Chapter 6. https://www.deviantart.com/mistybrightshadow/art/MLP-Top-10-Bunk-G5-Criticisms-2022-971312522 “The stories of the Mane 5 in Make Your Mark’s pilot don’t come together and the dragon egg plot is unnecessary.” “Sparky is just Flurry Heart but with no destiny.” “G5 assassinated Twilight Sparkle’s character by having her steal the magic from the ponies of Equestria, making her a despot in creating the Unity Crystals.” The day would not have been saved in MYM Chapter 6's Roots of All Evil if not for Sparky and the special powers he got from Maretime Bay's Together Tree, something that was foreshadowed all the way back in MYM Chapter 2's Growing Pains. His inclusion in the series was always necessary and he always had a destiny. You know how much I've already beaten into the ground how bunk Twilight's alleged character assassination is, but regardless, it has to be noted that Spike fully confirms in MYM Chapter 6's The Isle of Scaly that the ponies lost magic all by themselves. So now that we know what we do, are we going to be getting any admissions from the people who spread these fallacious comments that they were wrong? I'll hold my breath.

For me, it's four eras. Seasons 1-3 were pretty good, especially Season 2, Seasons 4-5 were awesome, peak FiM to me, Seasons 6-7 were great for the most part despite a slight decline, and Seasons 8-9 were mostly good despite a more noticeable decline. I do not hate the Student 6 and the School of Friendship anywhere near as much as so many fans do, I just think the show was getting kind of same-sy at that point.

That was a really good season finale! It almost felt to me like a parody of the recap episodes. Getting to see Posey play Allura was really cool and the episode really got good when Comet came into the picture. Funnily enough, he really isn't that much worse than the other ponies as an actor. I also really like how this season finale, just like the last part of MYM we have right now, isn't giving any nudges that the G5 shows are ending. Quite the opposite, actually. That line about Allura being in the sequel followed by Comet's line at the end...hm.

So it seems that Make Your Mark Chapter 6 is overtaking Chapter 4 in terms of popularity... Yeah, even though this guy doing the poll has defended G5...a good chunk of his audience is comprised of G5 haters and G5 movie purists. Chapter 6 dominating a poll like this despite the fact that some G5 reviewers are trying to make it out to be the worst of G5 is definitely something to consider.

It's clear from the topic's title that it's about G5, something you had to have known before clicking on it. You have made it clear multiple times in this section of the forums that you don't like anything about G5, directly stating it here. Thus this question of mine... ...was not answered.

Definitely some awful news, though this isn't happening because of a pony problem. This is happening because the toy market's in a bad place right now with people just not buying toys anymore as a result of the economy being absolute trash. I still always see pony toys on shelves too and I don't think Hasbro is going to stop making toy-promotion content, something that has lately been proven to be capable of being extremely successful, over this.

Starshine Time is an awesome acquired taste tune for me, I can't stop listening to it now. I also wasn't that into Villain at first, but it grew on me. Like it almost as much as Opaline's song from TYT now.

All comments about Chapter 6 are welcomed here, good and bad. However, you are deviating from the topic at hand. You don't have to type a whole essay beating a dead horse, bringing up an offsite discussion, and bringing up things that have nothing to do with Chapter 6 just because I didn't like an MLP reviewer's take on Chapter 6. If what I pointed out isn't right there for you to see in the show, then did Spike not teleport Sparky to the Dragon Stone? Did Spike not get Sunny and the dragons to safety by teleporting them outside of Opaline's castle? Did Violet Frost not explain the healing properties of the snow ahead of time? Everything I listed happened in the show, that's a fact. Comments from people like me are as welcome as yours, so people explaining why they don't embrace negativity for this chapter while backing up their arguments for liking it with examples from it is something you're going to have to learn to accept.

I'll point out that I have watched Dr. Wolf's review of MYM Chapter 6 in full. I wasn't impressed, he acted like Opaline "lost her complexity" because of a song despite the fact that this is the same franchise that has villains like the Evil 3 singing a song like A Better Way to Be Bad, completely missed the point of Spike being in the story with him serving as proof of how there can be unity between ponies and dragons, being the one who gives Sparky access to the Dragon Stone, and being the one who gets Sunny and the dragons out of Opaline's castle safely, and tried to frame the storytelling and pacing of Secrets of Starlight as "all over the place" despite the fact that everything was built up to, including the healing powers of the snow, something directly explained ahead of time. Don't buy what I'm saying? This is all right there for you to see in the show. The G5 analyst community just doesn't want to see anything contradicting their narrative, Celestia forbid we watch something for what it is and judge it on its own merits.
