  1. Checking the korra tags on tumblr, I finally remembered why I always stayed away from the ATLA fanbase: they are actually starting the
  2. ^ all of this. We see her laughing at their loss many times and even during her song she's smiling in a way that's supposed to mean "I love pain" and not "I'm happy I'll finally help my people". I would definately say she was misunderstood if I had seen at least one scene where we see her act sad or relunctant. Heck, I'd have settled with a "You think I like this? You think I have a choice? It's all for my people". It's interesting to compare her to Nightmare Moon: she had an evil goal, which was created deep down by a feeling of loneliness and sadness. So Luna wasn't evil even though she acted so due to misguided feelings, she was misunderstood and that led to all the problems. In contrast, Chrysalis goal wasn't evil, she just wanted to help her people survive, but the way she went about doing it and most importantly, the way she acted through it showed that she didn't consider the ponies' pain to be a necessary sacrifice for her people; to her it was enjoyable, like a bonus.
  3. Yes, shipping is when you cheer for a certain couple Here's urban dictionary Fandom uses this word as a verb to denote their interest in the possible (and perhaps more often impossible) romantic relationship between two characters in a piece of fiction belonging to any medium. It's really never used in a platonic way, but if it ever is, people tend to separately emphasize that they are using it platonically.
  4. I could go about this the boring way and declare my love for Flutterdash, omnishipping etc but that has been done a lot. So instead I will now raise the RarityxFancypants flag! Anyone with me? *is bricked*
  5. They weren't defeated directly by love. Love helped amplify Shining Armor's magic spell and that kicked them all out. Plus, even if you feed on meat you'd get hurt if someone threw a cow at you XD
  6. It's hard to choose... Best awesome ending: Season 2 finale Best friendship ending: The Return Of Harmony Best "lmao never thought that character would do that, I liked it!" ending: Sweet and Elite (I never expected Fancypants to turn out to be nice) and Putting Your Hoof Down (didn't expect how she managed to not pay for the classes)
  7. While they look cute together, I'm not sure if those pictures at the end were meant for us to ship the ponies, since that would imply Spike will now go after Rarity's sister. Plus, it might be RD happy to be with her idol and not necessarily in love with him. Still, if well done, I wouldn't mind if something happened.
  8. While I don't think that way, I have to point out it wouldn't be the same thing: RD says she wants to join the Wonderbolts but we don't get episodes and episodes of her trying and failing to do so.
  9. Really? I was under the impression Scootaloo was the least favorite (possibly because she's the one people know less about)
  10. Angel, I love how it looks like he has changed since the first season, becoming nicer to Fluttershy
  11. I think there might be a chance the mane 6 get coltfriends. Hasbro likes money, little girls like romance and Hasbro might one day demand the producers add in romantic pairs for the mane 6 so that the target audience can spend their money buying the colts(I say 'colts' because there's no way they'd dare make same sex relationships). However, that might not be too bad, if well done. The colts might be from out of Ponyville, for example. So the producers could keep focusing on the friendship between the mane 6, and bring back the colts when they feel like it, while Hasbro is content with the money they make. Plus, I can see how having a love interest might be interesting for character development. Like people have said, Fluttershy would have to overcome her shyness to ask the colt out, or like GJB93 says in this quote:
  12. Maybe Celestia is secretly a bunch of rogue Changelings that pretend to be a powerful immortal alicorn generation after generation to: a ) feed off the love of the loyal subjects b ) hide from the royal Changeling line (thus Chrysalis didn't know the truth) XP I really want to know what the explanation is... Right now, my theory is that the number of super powerful and immortal alicorns was very very low so one or some of them ended up with a normal pony. The mares or colts from that union were alicorns but not immortal and not as powerful.
  13. I don't love them, but I don't dislike them either. I think they're fine in small doses but if they get more and more episodes the whole cutie mark search will start to get dull.
  14. Spike: in season 1 I felt he was just a comedic sidekick. Of course, thanks to all the episodes dedicated to him in season 2 he has grown a lot as a character but I still love the mane 6 more. Prince Blueblood: I don't think this needs explaining... Diamond Tiara: annoying, she has never done anything to make me smile and I hate the bullying types
  15. Well put. I was using Twilight's behaviour in Lesson Zero to defend the mane 5's actions this episode, but I never realized the irony in Celestia telling Twilight to trust her instincts. I think the lesson should have been something like: when you find an evil person everyone thinks is good, don't start screaming EVIL, be smart about it.
  16. Yeah, I want to know how both Toph and Aand could have died before Katara. The only explanation I can think of is: the plot needed it
  17. Thanks. Anyone else crazy to know who is Lin's father?
  18. Although I think Korra is a little too fiery I like how different she is from Aang. That, coupled with the new setting, makes the show have a completely (for now) different feel to it and I enjoy the freshness of it. Plotwise, it's still too early to say if this will be worst, equal or better than the Last Airbender but so far it's pretty good. Is it just me or is the animation waaaaaay better and more fluid than A:TLA? Yeah, new avatars are born when the last one dies. About his mother...we get trolled about that in the first episode -_- Avatar movie? What avatar movie? Oh you mean the blue creatures on Pandora right? Cause there definately wasn't any other movie with that title, and there definately never existed a horrible movie adaptation by M. Shyamalan, that was just a bad nightmare...RIGHT??? *twitches*
  19. The first one, I prefer the neck part, head piece and its hair style
  20. Thanks for the warm welcome everypony!
  21. Thankfully, answering this question isn't easy. One of the great things about this season was that everyone got development, even Granny. I was going to vote RD because she, as someone pointed out, showed she had other priorites more important than winning in the episode "Hurricane Fluttershy" but then i remembered she has always put her friends before her interests so that particular action didn't mean development. I voted for Fluttershy, but I hesitated a lot before doing so. While she did improve, she doesn't keep much of that development. Pity, I would have loved some flutterrage at the finale.
  22. I just realized people will now probably look back at other episodes and scream "CHANGELINGS" everytime the animators put the same background pony twice in a scene XD It's moderate replying to reply time! The problem, I think, is that Shining Armor intervened. See, Twilight had already spoken to them about how a bad person Cadance was and the 5 had listened and refuted her accusations. After that Twilight again reappears and again accuses Cadance, only this time it's not just that she's bad, but outright evil. Her only proof is seeing Cadance using her magic on her brother...but then Shining Armor steps in, defends his bride and even has an alternative explanation for what Twilight saw. It's so convincing that even Twilight thinks she made a mistake and tries to apologize. Maybe if Twilight had not second guessed herself and instead asked her friends to trust and help her they might have done so, but as they saw it Twilight misunderstood something, let it blow out of proportion (and this wouldn't be the first time) and now needed some alone time to think about all she had done. In fact, maybe the reason they left her was so they could try talking to her brother to try and make him change his mind... ...or maybe the plot required them to not believe her and that's that. But I don't like that so i'll keep trying to come up with excuses for the mane 6 XP Ah I see. I never really thought they were "omniscient immortal lining gods" it would either contracdict earlier episodes or just plain mean Celestia is a troll, pretending to need the help of the mane 6 for fun. I avoided prior spoilers so I didn't know. I really hope she did it because Twilight's family was special then, and not because of some scret prophesy that made Twilight more special than she already is. I wrote in another thread the changelings could win if they slowly started switching places with ponies in the villages and after that Canterlot. By the time Celestia realized, she would be overwhelmed. But of course, evil can't win. So I doubt they'll use their brains if they ever appear again -_-
  23. Yeah, nothing better for creating discord and distrust than creatures that can turn into anyone. He might even want to marry Chrysalis XD With some careful thinking she could win. For one thing, she should first make the mane 6 divided. After taking them out she just needs to find another two ponies in love, turn into one again and use that power against Celestia again. Or simply start to slowly kidnap ponies in small towns and replace them with her minions. By the time Celestia ever noticed something was wrong, she would be overwhelmed.
  24. He probably: a) didn't want to go with both sisters out of the farm, someone other than Granny needed to be there to take care of stuff
  25. Good work, I'd never figured out who she was! It's so nice when we get continuity, even in the details
