  1. Okay... So I'm down here in hyatt, but so are tons of other bronies. Where exaclly in the lobby, or is there a way to recognize you, plageius?
  2. Better yet, here's a google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/5PE1XdKRw812 Anyway, depending on the weather, I just might be attending as well.
  3. Surely you mean Max's Restaurant & Bar - burlingame (maxsworld.com)? Because the opera house cafe is 20 or so miles away from the Hyatt, while the former is just across the street.
  4. I arrived last weekend in Burlingame and stay at an AirBnB at about a 15 minutes walk from the Hyatt. One thing to take notice of if you're walking when coming from the direction of downtown Broadway (or Airport Blvd), is, once you've crossed the freeway, you have to walk below the bridge along the road next to the freeway (north side) to be able to get to the other side of the construction work going on in there.
  5. Likewise, this will be my first BABScon and second mlp-con ever, the first one being HWcon here in the Netherlands. I've got my ticket for this one nearly half a year now, so I'm really exited and looking forward to this con
  6. It's getting better and better! Now all we need is Andrea Libman and the Mane6 is complete.
  7. /me is extremely happy about this! See here for a reason why.
  8. First pony that came to mind not considering it had to be the Mane6: Trixie. For reasons already mentioned above. +2 insightful and probably spot on!
  9. Your not asking the correct questions, or at least not specific enough. But let me try several versions. - Will the movie attract new bronies? Probably not. Reason being most non-bronies wouldn't go to a MLP movie. Why would they? It's a movie intended for little girls, not adults. The reason we have bronies now is that most were able to watch this in private at home, not in a big hall with lot's of little girls, which is what most people probably will think of what will be there in a MLP movie in the cinema. - Will the movie cause the return of ex-bronies (I guess mostly anti-twilicorn fans) This is more probable. But I don't think it will be a huge increase in active bronies. Also because this movie will most likely feature twilicorn, which was the reason a lot of bronies quit in the first place. Also: did the brony fandom leave in the first place? I don't think so (look at the people still attending this board, Equestria Daily or any MLP convention). At the most there has been a slight decrease in the total number of fans still watching the show. Regarding if season 7 and the EqG series next year will be any good: only time will tell. Noone can properly give an honest answer to that one just yet. The show's staff will ofcourse try to make it good. I don't think it will be bad, but then again: what is good? Compared to what? I think season 5 had a peak in properly good episodes, but they had very good occasions to do so: 5 years of MLP and 100 episodes are some big landmarks for a show. They also had a couple of story arcs which lasted for some years come to a conclusion. It's very hard to top that. I enjoyed season 6 less than season 5 because of that, but I still think season 6 had some pretty enjoyable episodes. The same can probably be said for Equestria Girls.

    Celestia Fan Club

Quoted for truth! Oh, disregard the signature on this one.
  11. Give Celestia some more backstory/character building with her very own episode
  12. According to wikipedia, there were over 1 million viewers for the Canterlot Wedding episode in the USA alone. Not all of the viewers will be considered fans, but on the other hand, I guess not all fans watch the show in a legal manner (either unable or unwilling). Globally an estimate between 1 to 10 million fans seems reasonable, and I'd say it will be to the upper part of that 10 million, maybe even a bit more.

    Luna Fan Club

/me joins the fanclub Luna is best pony! And how can you say no to such a plushie?
  14. I've been using this particular avatar for over 15 years now in various places. Why change a winning team? Also, the reason why I started watching MLP, so only fitting to use it in here as well.
  15. I believe the brony documentary from de Lancie/Faust/Strong (2012) stated that most bronies (attending the conventions) were in the age group of 18-25, with still a decent amount reaching up to 35, and also children and teenagers running around. Now I realise convention-goers aren't neccessarily the average brony, but I would guess the ages won't differ much. I'd say most fans (non-target demographic) nowadays would be 16-30 with the bulk still in the 20-25 range. Personally I was late to start watching the show (summer 2015), and relatively old with 34 at that time. 2 collegues of mine, who've been watching the show for a longer period, are 30 and 23 right now.
  16. Above all I would like a Celestia-centered episode. And I say this when Luna is my waifu and best pony: she's had quite some episodes where she had at least an important role and at least 2 episodes centered around her, where Celestia nearly never really had any role of significance or backstory. I was saddened when I read that Larson had written some backstory for her in Amending Fences, but it had been axed due to time limits of the episode. Because of this I particularly liked the comic where Celestia goes on an adventure with Spike alone. Maybe a story similar to that might work in the show as well. Here's hoping for season 7 to right this wrong.
  17. Likewise, I binge-watched the entire show in august/september 2015 and didn't read into any of the meme's, fanfictions or other stuff at the time. Thought it was a funny episode, until a little later I started watching ACRaceBest's Bronies React video's. That threw me into the rabbit-hole that is this fandom which in turn made me realise how important this episode was to the fandom and what it *actually* was all about. I love looking up react-video's to this episode to see how this impacted bronies all around the globe, now knowing what all the references and memes were about, and how nearly every reactor completely shuts up during Gummy's monologue.
  18. Thanks all for the warm welcome! To be more precise, I started watching the PPG show nearly from the start, probably early '99 and continued watching it (although not on a regular basis) 'till summer 2002, when I moved out from my parents. I did see the movie, but haven't really seen any episodes after that, so I don't know to what other original you're referring, nor have I seen a reboot.
  19. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Pinkie Pie How did you find MLP Forums?: Through the babscon website How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: <-- Look at that avatar to left. About 15 years ago I started watching that show (as a 20-y/o) and since then used "Bubbles" as a nickname and avatar on various fora: I sorta could identify with her: I was more or less blondhaired (nowadays it's turning more reddish), wearing a ponytail, blue coloured eyes, and usually sweet. But when properly provoked I too can become 'hardcore'. One big difference, though: I'm male.So about 2 years ago a co-worker of mine alerted me to MLP, stating "one of the main characters is voiced by the same voice actress as your avatar, you might like this show as well". At first I was a bit sceptical, but nevertheless watched a couple of episodes. It wasn't half bad, but as I was watching Star Trek (NG and VOY) at the time, I put it on hold until summer last year. Then binge watched 5 seasons in about a month and decided that I probably was a brony by then. What else is there to say? I'm Dutch. So any spelling, grammar or other linguistic mistakes, I blame that. Oh, and I'm attending BABSCon next year (so that's a huge trip for me). Hopefully Tara Strong will be there, so I can tell her the above story as well, as she signs a Bubbles doll for me.
  20. Today I received the email confirmation I was expecting in the first place, with a QR-code and all. Now I'm 100% certain I gonna be there!
  21. Ok. I was just expecting some kind of email with this info as well, as a proof as I did have to supply an email address. I'll just make some printouts then which I'll bring along. Thanks!
  22. Both Paypal and my bankaccount confirm that I don't own the money anymore and babscon/harmonious elements does. So yeah, I did pay.
  23. TL;DR: should I have received an email confirmation after registering for babscon? First off: hi, I'm new here, and as English isn't my native language, apologies for any linguistic errors. About 2 weeks ago I made the decision to undertake a huge trip from The Netherlands to San Francisco and attend BABSCon in 2017. So I registered for a ticket on the babscon website and paid with paypal. Afterwards I got redirected to a page that I supposedly paid and that was it. No mail or any other form of confirmation that I can bring to show as a ticket of proof. I kinda was expecting at least a confirmation e-mail, as I was required to submit an e-mail address on registration. So I emailed babscon about this, using the same e-mail address, but to date I still haven't got a reply. Now this may be an issue caused by me using my private/own e-mail server which could be recognized as "not safe" or something like that (there's no thing as a spam folder or filtering configured on that server, so that's not the problem). Or maybe it's just that no confirmation e-mails are being send, I don't know? Could anyone confirm that this is the default (non)action after registering for babscon?
