  1. Saw a lovely comic, remembered who your best horse always was. :fluttershy:

    1. Zoop

      Zoop

honestly, as much as the show (and in many cases the fandom, if I'm to be completely honest) ended up veering pretty far away from where I would've wanted it to go, I don't think anyone could hope to deny that it created huge amounts of absolutely fucking adorable stuff. Always loved pony stuff in that sort of style more than just about anything, tbh.

  2. I just want the writing to be inclusive and modern just as FIM was, not regressing to tunnel-vision demographics that only target children, like we saw with every gen of MLP prior to gen 4. The only children's media that should be largely targeted should be developmental programs, like Sesame Street. Anything else in this day and age that follows that pattern is proven lazy writing, now that we have dozens of successful shows that have juggled layers of demographics. Past that, I'm just here for the ride. Reading through topics like this, I feel baffled how many people still hold onto these raging hateboners for the later parts of FiM. Might I recommend trying to enjoy this next gen at face value, rather than letting your inner nitpicker run rampant? Your self-inflicted misery should drop dramatically. I could find and fixate on a slew of things unpolished, boring, or aggravating about any part of FiM, including S1-5, but I don't, because working as a masochist full-time is already something I do at my real job. I think the truly wise can enjoy a piece of artwork for the effort, and criticize its flaws, without letting one always overwhelm the other.
  3. Eugh. Don't like most forms of 3D animation, and though I sound like an entitled dweeb for saying it, it's almost insulting Hasbro's taking the cheaper animation route this time around. I know that Flash is leaving and such, but there are still methods for 2D. Feels like they're settling based on pricetag and that doesn't sit well for me. Not that it looks bad for 3D, but...eh. Writing is gonna need to save that for me.
  4. Back in MY day we merged your filthy duplicates in favor of keeping super threads for common topics of discussion! Everypony is a necromancer at MLPF. You'll find your complimentary Necronomicon at the door.
  5. What's cablesez, Precious? Ca-ble! Feed it through, watch it, pay your monthly dues. Fat hobbit can have nasty cablesez. Give it to us instant and streaming!
  6. ImMoRtAliTy!? Alright, I am hella late to the party but here we go. I just wanted to give a little comedic/logic smoothie to anyone who is saddened by the now apparently canon concept of flowy mane alicorn Twilight outliving the other EoH. Even if this does occur, Twilight will be very, very far from being alone. There is actually a sizable list of characters on her friend roster who do not give a single buck about aging, age very slowly, or have the capacity to do either or. 1: Celestia and Luna are also (apparently) immortal. L'Oréal makes those manes flow and your age go. Twilight and Celestia have a very special bond, just in themselves. Huge win for Camp Happy Immortality. Don't believe me? Just listen to this absolute bop. 2: Discord is absolutely immortal. In Discordant Harmony, we found that Discord is quite literally a spirit or entity of chaos, and that he fades away if he isn't chaotic. As long as chaos exists, it is fair to assume that Discord will. I can definitely see Twilight and Discord having a serious heart to heart over Fluttershy's passing and growing closer from it. 3: Spike is going to be alive for probably thousands of years. Dragon lifespans are hilariously long. Torch, Ember's father, was still alive (and looked the exact same) during the original time period the Pillars were alive. 4: Starlight is a goddamn hack wizard, and will probably invent an immortality spell just to keep Twilight company.
  7. Lies, we share a special connection. A telepathic link for whenever I mention your name with an @ sign in front of it. Yup, I get that comment a lot, in and out of person. The Navel Avatar/Signature Revolution topics are still around, which means all the created avatars and signatures I made for people still should be, too.
  8. When you're remembered not for your hard admin work going on three years, your wit, your sass, your creative writing or even your basic bitch graphic design skills, but that extravagant belly button trend you did that one or three times.
  9. One does not simply walk away from entities of þðñ¥ and never return. We've all come back at some point or another, be it to occasionally pop in or a single catch-up. I managed to briefly summon @Zoop last year just by challenging his love for Fluttershy. I remember little asides your Trixie avatars, so I guess that's good news for both of us! Nevertheless glad to see other Elder Gods still exist from the days of early Feldian creation. MLPF has become far more focused on community-driven interaction since our initial leaves in 14' and 15', and I think it's been for the better. @Jericand his staff have done well with revitalizing what this site was originally intended for and capitalizing on it. Should you decide to stick around at all, I'm sure you'll see for yourself.
  10. East, because a lot of the eastern countries have ideologies that are a hell of a lot better than mine.
  11. @Ganondorf8 has been making polls and such on the regular for as long as I've been back. They sometimes fall under the radar, so perhaps more promotion is in order, but they are definitely there. Check out the Forum Events subforum.
  12. * The World Cup, which spands months and has dozens of topics, custom banners and artworks, and this past year, even a few animations. * Trivia and polls every week, run by one staff member diligently. * Appreciation topics and impromptu game events. Keeping in mind, of course, that no one here is paid to do anything. This is a volunteer job that comes after the other tasks of life. If you can look at how much effort Jeric and the other staff have poured into events of all kinds over the past two years, and still dismiss them so readily, I don't think you're the sort of person who will ever be satisfied. Personally, the overhaul in community focus and events is why I returned after a several years hiatus.
  13. But where will half our moderation reports come from now? Think of the busywork!
  14. Fuck me if I have time or energy to make a big response before work this morning but great to hear from you again! All three of my Bcon attendences will stick with me for all the cool people I've met. 😌 We got a new big boi, Alatreon in MH:W. If you ever find time with all your schooling and find interest in the game again, I'm always around.
  15. Some of the creative websites created for ponies are still some of the best and most active of thier kind. Namely Fimfiction, which will still net you more feedback than unfocused dinosaurs like fanfiction.net or Wattpad. As such, I'm still writing horse words, not just because I still have stories to tell with certain characters, but because for my fanfiction hobby there's no greater feedback for me than Fimfiction. Outside fanfiction I'm also involved in a fandom project or two on Discord. That's about the extent of it.
  16. Jeric when I send him a topic draft seeking feedback: Jeric when the topic gets posted and I come on later to see three full-scale replies: We'll be right back, after some technical edits.
  17. Welcome, my ponies. Three years it's been, and yet, here you post before me, as though it were only yesterday. We are all of us going through a turbulent time, these days. The current pandemic is of a scale not seen since the times of WWI, one hundred years ago, and it continues to sweep the planet. The stress it has brought all of humanity has acted as a catalyst for civil and political unrest across all spectrums and definitions, all of which we, simple pony-loving lasses and lads, are subjected to by the media ad nauseum. For most folks who at all keep up with social media on the regular, it can feel very inescapable at times, bringing about drama and stress in places they'd rather be free of such things. Get on with it, ya daft chimera! ~ @Dark Horse, probably It's been brought to the staff's attention that pockets of politics and alike topics have been cropping up in blogs, status updates and other locations around the forums as of late. Repetition of this has lead to complaints, even the unfortunate leave of members over a lack of interest in dealing with said politics and drama. And so, here we are. I'd like to make two points very clear. Though not toxic in all forms of discussion, topics like politics, religion, etc are well-known for their uncanny ability to spark drama, arguments and stress. Even more so, given the current global climate. It is understandable that some folks seek to alleviate their own stress over said topics by publicly venting about it on their local pony forum, but not doing so with tact will do more harm than good, because I'd wager an even larger amount of people are browsing a pony forum to get away from the trials and tribulations that come with everyday life. And so, I'd like to bring attention to the Debate Symposium. Long ago this unsightly little place was torn from the earth and molded into being for the express purpose of housing such topics. This is where these topics need to stay, for the sake of everyone's mental health. The human mind can only put up with so many existential crises per day. Ask someone who has an anxiety disorder, like yours truly. But Discord, reading is hard! Fret not, little peach. *ahem*. Please refrain from talking about politics, religion and other highly sensitive topics in blogs, status updates or topics that are not located inside the Debate Symposium. Doing so defeats the entire purpose of the subforum, and tends to needlessly agitate ponies all around the site. This will be added to the Global Rules henceforth, so that there shall be no confusion or overlooking, in the future. We are human beings. It is sometimes inevitable to bring some human drama with us wherever we go, even to such a pure thing as a pony site. But please, for everyone's sake, let's keep MLPF a friendly getaway for those who are here to unwind and relax. Keep Calm and Pony On, Everypony~
  18. Nope. Have no patriotism to speak of for my backwards-run, greed-ridden country, and even if I did, I'm a creative who would absolutely detest being told to step in line and become just another unit on a team. Shelving my creativity, mind and interests for any length of time as is typical of the military would be an antithesis to who I am. I'm already upset that I'm stuck with a non-creative job while I go through college.
  19. @Pathfinder because deer fren :3
  20. Lightweights, lightweights everywhere! Ya'll should assume everything you read is fake until proven true on April 1st.
  21. Looking better~ As asked I shall give some pointers on continued efforts! I won't point out everything in the tale, but I chose this sentence in-particular because it's a good example of the two or three things you can find riddled here and there. Consistent capitalization and periods to truly define the start and ends of your sentences I think is your biggest area of improvement, left. The rest, like sentence structure, etc, will improve gradually the more you write and the more feedback you get. Keep going boyo~
  22. If you enjoy the base game, definitely splurge for the expansion. It's literally a sequel disguised as an add-on. I have not seen another company that takes care of their fans as well as Capcom does. So worth the money. Also expect a PM because we're totally hunting together, now. :p I'd be happy to help you with hunts along the story. Endgame gets redundant so helping friends brings infinite replayability for me while I'm we're in-between Iceborne updates. Your confidence will build! I'm on PS4 unfortunately so I can't play with you. I actually only hunted solo for a good long while, partly because I was anxious to play with strangers and partly because I wanted to be good at the game before I started playing with others. I'm all melee lol, I can't get into the bowguns at all. I've been a Hammer main for a couple months, now.
  23. I think physical food provides nutritional benefits that they don't get from love, but other than that it's mostly for fun. After all the only example we got of buggos eating normally was through the potluck lunch, which was a part of a greater recreational movement Thorax was starting. Normal food is like vitamin tablets, but all they need to keep up thier energy and not die is love. If all changelings had horns I'd say the horn could be a sort of conduit through which changelings use thier transformation magic, but since not all of them do I'm of the belief that buggos shapeshift innately, and those with horns have the capacity to learn simple spells like levitation, and maybe weak pew pew lasers.
