This was the episode that made me decide to watch every single one (after "The Ticket Master" really got me interested). The highlight for me was the baking sequence – sleep-deprived Applejack was hilarious!

Okie dokie low-key.
I'd never use those either. I prefer "smilies" as the word for emoticons (pretty much everyone used to call them that)...

It's incredible how much happened after those two episodes. They're among the few episodes I've rewatched (I think that was during the season 8 mid-season hiatus – I still haven't got around to watching the full series again), and I must say I enjoyed them a lot more than the first time around. Episode 3 was the one that made me a brony (mostly because of how adorable Pinkie was).

I guess I was fooled, kind of... Most of it obviously read like a joke, but then I saw you mention "Smells like Teen Spirit" (which I knew you don't like).
I'm not sure how serious you were about that part, but I must admit I love "Black Hole Sun" (and not even as a guilty pleasure). Nostalgia plays a big part, but I can't help it.

I have no idea about that, to be honest. I've heard singles were mostly bought by DJs in those days... but I doubt they'd have played Nirvana much. It seems there was a European release (probably the one sold in Finland?) that had the lyrics to all the songs from their album – maybe people really wanted to know what Kurt was trying to say.
Rock and metal have always sold well here, though nowadays it seems people mostly listen to rap and generic pop. As for Iron Maiden, they've managed to do that quite a few times – most recently in 2007 when "Different World" was number one.

I like the song myself, but I can't help but agree it's extremely overrated. Just like you said, I liked it a lot more as a kid – I still think it's a fun song (especially when singing it on Singstar ), but nothing revolutionary, really.
"Lithium" is a much better song from them, yet it gets nowhere near as much attention. Which makes it an absolute must to post this.
And no, SLTS couldn't do the same.

Amazing work, my friend! Honestly, when I first looked at the picture (before I had seen the text), I didn't even realize Nightmare Moon wasn't part of the original picture. Very well done!

I agree especially on this one. The worst way to end a story – always disappointing and lazy, sometimes also an excuse for other ridiculous choices by the writer...

@ShadOBabe TheRockATrice?
I voted for The Beast King myself. Hard to say why, but it's the most Nightmare Night-esque one to me.

Happy forumversary, my friend! I hope you have many more years of fun here! Thanks for everything! *hugs*

I'm glad you liked it too! Definitely one of the highlights in season 9 for me. It was especially nice to see Octavia in a speaking role again, and Starlight/Trixie episodes are always fun!
Also: "Phyllis, no!"

Thanks, my friend!
Any pose is fine by me – Rarity always looks fabulous!

A certain fabulous fashion pony. There's never too much art of Rarity.

Awesome job, my friend!
QuoteOh, and btw, this is my first digital drawing involving the mane 6, so that's another plus!
Do you plan to make more? If so, may I suggest a pony for the second one?

Almost all of the new writers in the last couple of seasons have done an amazing job already on their debut (and this episode was no exception to that)! Another great episode after a slow start to the second half of the season. I'll be surprised if "Phyllis, no!" doesn't become a meme in the fandom!
@Sparklefan1234 It runs in the family.

Great to hear you've been making progress! Twily looks very cute so far!

One of my favorite episodes in season 9 (especially the second half). I was very happy to see Gabby again – she's such an adorable griffon! And dramatic Rarity is best Rarity, as usual. Gabby's reaction to her apologies was priceless, too!
Also, the scene with Gabby and the camera was heartbreaking.
Yeah, I guess it isn't that hard to see which character I thought stood out the most here.

Nice work, my friend! I think this shows once again how much your art has improved! I liked the first ones too, but this has a lot more detail.

Great job, my friend!
I'll definitely listen to the later ones too when you post them!

I agree! Nice animation and some cute moments, even if it wasn't one of my absolute favorites in MLP.
As for that comment about Chinese airings, I thought that was a joke... but apparently not. I guess I'll be watching more ponies tomorrow.

I'm glad to hear things are going well for you! And it's nice to see you still visit occasionally, even if you're no longer interested in ponies.
I wish you all the best, my friend!

I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed it, my friend! Here's to a lot more fun (which I'm sure will be had)!

I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it as much as I did. For me, it was one of the highlights in the first half of season 9. Definitely one of the most emotional episodes in the whole series for me (some of the scenes were just heartbreaking). Unlike some others, I've always liked the CMC episodes, but I'd go as far as to say this is my all-time favorite of those.
It was great to finally see Scootaloo's family (both her parents and aunts)! Also some nice appearances from past characters like Skeedaddle (I wish Kettle Corn had appeared too). But the emotional effect of some scenes was what truly made it great for me. I'd give it a rare rating of 10/10.

I enjoyed this a lot more, it was just fun. Maybe a little like the older episodes at times (except for the characters involved, of course)...
The start of the episode wasn't the most interesting, but it got better later on. Maud and Mudbriar stole the show, though (I felt they did a better job with Mudbriar's portrayal than in his first appearance)!

Definitely – this episode made me a Rarity fan.
This was actually my favorite episode in the whole series until season 4, and I still think it's one of the funniest.
