I've always wanted my own private observatory dome. They look cool and the telescope is always set up and ready to use.

Hey!
Thanks for the follow!

@Cash In, this apparition was pretty good considering that Mars was low in the sky for viewers north of the Equator. The good news is that Mars will be much higher in the sky during its next closest approach in 2020. I am looking forward to that one!

@Celtore, I hear ya. My trees block most of the southern sky.
-
@Cash In, he he, Mars is doing fine. It's apparent size and brightness is much lower, since it's moving away from us pretty fast. Planet season, with the exception of Uranus and Neptune, is pretty much over for 2018. It's long exposure astrophotography time.

Almost 30.
Man, time flies!

@Phosphor270 I’ve been a fan for 3 years now. The thing I love the most about it is the Princesses!!
-
@DarkShadowPonY, thank you!
@DivineGlow1000, my favorite thing about the show is the relatable characters (AJ and Twilight for me).

@Tacodidra, I almost fell asleep while laying on the patio. lol. Stargazing is quite relaxing.
@DivineGlow1000, I think I paid around $310 for that telescope. It's a well made achromatic refractor with no plastic anywhere. Everything's metal, even the dust cap.
The mount is about $200. It's an Explore Scientific Twilight I mount. Has slow motion controls too.
@Sondash Studios, Thank you! This is an Aquila 90mm refractor made by Yuzhong Optical Instruments.

@Trix or Treat?, I think I'll go grab the nightlight. lol

The weather is absolutely beautiful! The humidity is low and the sky is just as blue as it can be. More cold fronts please!
-
I am thankful for that cold front. If it would have been a day or 2 late, Hurricane Michael would have likely moved more towards my direction.
@Sondash Studios, hope everything is alright.

@Stone Cold Steve Tuna, thanks!
@Tacodidra, I love the color too. It is unmistakable when looking at it thru the eyepiece. I can actually see the planet with the naked eye. It's near the edge of my vision and my skies are dark enough. It looks like an extremely faint background star.
