@Cash In, I'm actually doing pretty good, considering I went to bed entirely too late last night.

Thank you!
@Sondash Studios, long exposures thru a refractor telescope, which is mounted on a tracking mount.
-
@Cash In, not at all. Go for it.
I'm glad you like it!

Thanks @Tacodidra, glad you like them.
I think I might buy a normal camera for color astrophotography and use my near IR color camera for the infrared versions. lol. That's one way to get around the color balance issue.

Pretty soon I will need to image Venus, if I want to capture its slender crescent phase. Only 2 weeks left before the planet disappears into the evening twilight sky, as it begins to pass between the Earth and Sun.
-
Clear skies in the forecast for this week. Thinking I might switch gears and try some long exposure astrophotography. Planet season is pretty much near the end for this year, except for Uranus and Neptune.

The new banner is interesting. When did Equestria get a particle disintegrator?

@Cash In, not bad, just a lil drowsy.
@Tacodidra, thanks! I may be going for round 2 on the coffee.

My recommendation for starting out would be the Celestron C90. It's less than $200, very portable and blows away any cheap refractor that can be bought at the local store. Just get a decent tripod for it, and it will show the planets without the distracting chromatic abberation that cheap refractors produce.

@Partialgeek514, I have some images that show Jupiter's moons and Saturn's moons. The planets usually have to be overexposed to reveal them.
I really need to reorganize my external hard drive with my older images.

@Phosphor270 That’s a lot of Lunas

@Phosphor270 That's so cool!

After some back and forth with the clouds, they granted me 15 minutes of clear conditions. It was enough to get some video on Mars so I'll have a couple images to share with y'all.

@DivineGlow1000, it's actually a lot brighter than that when viewed with orange UV blocking glasses. The image is only the UV portion of the light bulb and most of that gets absorbed in the glass lenses.

Can't wait for the 3rd season of Young Justice!

I've been wanting one of these solar telescopes for quite some time, but my wallet still says no.
-
Rain and clouds in the forecast for the next 6 days, so no stargazing for me. In the meantime, my UV-C lamp should arrive in a day or two. I can practice photographing objects in deep ultraviolet light.

@Kyoshi, I wouldn't mind cloudy weather too much if I had a radio telescope.

Have a good night everypony!
