  1. One of my favorite underrated musicians is Tavern Cat Records! Would highly recommend his music, especially if you're into medieval fantasy vibes. A Fair Cleric's Waltz Nature's Call A Mage's Song Ballad of the Pink Pony Bard Reflection and Reformation Now I'm Free
  2. Entertainment Tonight has revealed the plot and details about the movie, as well as a screenshot showing what the CGI animation will look like! High-res closeup: Source: https://www.etonline.com/my-little-pony-latest-movie-heads-to-netflix-greenlights-new-series-exclusive-161157
  3. This Day Aria's my favorite, and my favorite song in MLP, period. It's so intense and powerful. In Our Town is a close second. Who could believe that there would be a WWII propaganda-inspired musical number in My Little Pony? Especially with lyrics as creepy as those!
  4. Absolutely not. I enjoy MLP because it's innocently charming.
  5. I can't decide! Glory, Moondancer, Gusty, Fizzy, Sparkler, Seashell, Princess Tiffany, Quackers, Night Glider, Sugar Apple and Ringlets are probably the ones I like best.
  6. Star Catcher was my all time favorite as a child, and still ranks highly among the G3s for me. I always thought she was so majestic with her giant sparkly fabric wings and 3D face markings. I love her ethereal presence in the cartoons, as well.
  7. While the CMC theme song is obviously terribly sung, with lyrics that don't make sense, the instrumentals and overall melody absolutely SLAP Nobody talks about the Heart Carol, since the version from the show is so short, but if you listen to the full version on the Christmas album, it's absolutely beautiful! On the topic of Hearth's Warming songs, The Seeds of the Past gets overshadowed a lot by the other great songs in that episode, but I love it because of its sentimental tone and the fact that it conveys a lot of emotion in a short period of time. I like Glass of Water a lot, not very tuneful, but there's a lot of fun lyrics and gags packed in there. Rules of Rarity seems to be overshadowed by Art of the Dress, but I actually like it more. I like the constant change in emotion and tone, and Rarity's voice in that song is beautiful, especially the ending of the first part of the song. I've heard The Place Where We Belong get dismissed as another generic friendship song, but I love the harmonies and instrumentation, and it has very sentimental lyrics.
  8. Luna's simply stunning. A beautiful and unique color palate and a mane that looks like the night sky. Very fitting for the Princess of the Night. Celestia and Cadance are lovely as well. Autumn Blaze and the rest of the Kirin look adorable and cuddly as well, although I wish they weren't all palate swaps. I like how the hippogriffs have a blend of pony and eagle features, rather than just being griffons with pony hindquarters. This is an unpopular opinion, but I really like the new changeling designs. They have very fairy-like coloring, and cute faces. Chrysalis is just a great design, creepy yet majestic As for ones I don't like Snips and Snails. They look like a (ugly) pig and giraffe rather than ponies. Most dragons other than Spike. Their bodies are too humanoid, especially Ember. On that note, Last Problem Spike. I can't take that design seriously at all. Ditto to Twilight in the finale. She feels too much like a Celestia recolor, and looks out of place amongst her friends. The Storm King. His design feels too derivative of Tirek.
  9. I don't get the background pony hype. At all. I don't like the songs "Flawless" and "A True True Friend" I like exciting but poorly executed episodes better than ones that have a solid story, but are boring. For example, I like Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep better than Made in Manehattan just because it's more interesting. I never cared for Equestria Girls. I like MLP because it's about magical creatures in a fantasy world, not teenage humans in high school.
  10. I was just thinking about how I'll often say "Congratulations, X, you're the new Y", referencing the "Congratulations Spike, you're the new Rainbow Dash" line from Return of Harmony. It got me wondering if anybody else will subconsciously reference MLP quotes in their daily speech without necessarily realizing it.
  11. I'm going to have to say G1. They're before my time, but I love their colors, their cute chunkiness, and their timeless aesthetic, and the fact that there's so many varieties, like Flutter Ponies, Sea Ponies, Newborns, and Big Brothers. The show's cheesy, but pretty fun to watch. I also have a soft spot for G3, because I grew up with them and still have a small fraction of my childhood collection. I think they're very elegant and have beautiful, colorful hair. The movies are kinda dumb, but they're honestly too cute and innocent to hate. G2's are alright, I'm not interested in collecting them, but I don't dislike them either. G3.5 is just...no.
  12. I love G1, but I only have Sparkler so far. They're surprisingly hard to find in the wild, but I hope to collect more when shops open again. There's a vintage toy store at the beach where I vacation each year that always has a small collection for sale.
  13. I've actually been envisioning this for quite awhile. Based on Hasbro's push for retro-themed merchandise within the past few years, my show would star new interpretations of G1 ponies like Firefly, Wind Whistler, and Gusty. They live in a secret world on the other side of the rainbow, where all mythical creatures retreated to in order to avoid persecution by humans in the olden days. It would have elements of G1, such as many of the ponies, Tirek and Scorpan, Grogar, The Smooze, and Mr. Moochick, as well as a darker, but still sweet and upbeat tone. From G4, Discord, Celestia & Luna and the Changelings would be present. The Elements of Harmony also would return, this time playing a bigger role, with a season wide story arc where the ponies find them. It will even take some inspiration from G3 (and to an extent, the 2017 G5 leaks), with the Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi living in separate kingdoms, never having heard of each other. I have the idea that the three kingdoms would have to unite in order to defeat a villain, and then all become open to each other.
  14. If we're being honest, I'm really disliking the general direction MLP is going. I dislike the character designs and the hyper-cartoony style. The plots revealed so far don't seem horrible, but I'm scared of the humor and tone this will have. With a new movie and possibly G5 around the corner, along with a smaller toyline this year than in the past, combined with the short, gag-based nature it seems to have, I can't forsee this lasting past a season, or possibly two. If you're excited and see promise, you're welcome to your opinion, but what I've seen so far just doesn't excite me.
  15. This is really difficult. I got into the series partially because of how great the songs were. So I'll go by season 1. At The Gala 2. This Day Aria 3. Babs Seed 4. Glass of Water 5. In Our Town 6. Pinkie's Present 7. You're In My Head Like A Catchy Song 8. A Kirin Tale 9. Better Way To Be Bad
  16. Hello! I'm a long time pony fan just joining these forums in time for the final season. I've been a fan since early 2014 (I believe Pinkie Pride was the first ep I saw), but am only joining now. I'm not as intensely into the show as I was a few years ago, but as the series comes to a close, I'm starting to get back into the swing of things as I remember how much these ponies were involved in my life for all these years. So I'm super happy to go and join y'all in this herd for one more season, and start chatting up ponies with people again!
