  1. I liked the loving emotions, the boulder gag, and how Hitch got nervous when he realized Cloudpuff was in the package he returned. I found the fart joke funny in a relatable way since dogs really do have terrible farts. I am still weirded out by how thick Cloudpuff's legs are in 2D compared to how they are in 3D, especially when most ponies' hooves are thinner in 2D than they are in 3D.
  2. I think that one of the things that made this episode feel more like an adventure was how the episode was divided into sections that showed the gimmicks and strengths of the main characters,
  3. What if she is a descendent of an alicorn? or an alicorn who was regressed and depowered for some reason? What if the Shadowly Alicorn is her aunt? or her mother? A long-lost royal nibling or child is a concept the MLP fandom has been thinking about for a long time, and G5 is a great time to do it. More crystal magic! What is it with Izzy's noisy glowing crystals anyway? The Just Prance reference was smooth, and Izzy acting like Hoofdini was cute. What if Izzy tried to be Hoofdini's stage assistant? I imagined that she would try very hard to be okay with it, with being the assistant, but soon have to admit the job wasn't for her. And she soon decides to become an engineer after realizing how much she enjoyed helping Hoofdini with stage engineering but doesn't want to travel all over Equestria for her work. But that would leave the question of who is will be the stage assistant when one is needed. I imagine Izzy being the kind of pony to not like being the "assistant" and traveling all over the place for work.
  4. Love may pass, but it does not always mean it's gone.

  5. I did not like the episode. It was rather black-and-white and rude to people who really like their comfort zones. I just really love Zipp, more than any other character in G5. She is an introvert's dream.
  6. I dislike two ponies who can be easily said to be among the earliest hated. Those two ponies are Snip and Snails.
  7. I liked this episode. It showed an issue Rarity really needs to work on, probably with the help of Applejack. That issue is that Rarity sometimes overshares her ideas, causing them to be easily stolen.
  8. The particular poofy dog is absolutely adorable.
  9. I read it somewhere that Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends was Lauren Faust's favorite since it was the first show she helped create off the ground and was during its run where she got engaged with her husband, the show's creator.

I get how those things made that show her favorite but I also want to note how she created MLP: FIM after years of struggling to make a great girl cartoon and still had to constantly but heads with executives when she was part of the creative process of MLP:FIM, it probably wore her down.

I don't want it to be about Faust herself, but I wanted to point about how often creators are probably worn down but their creative journeys and the creative processes, and how those things can affect how they feel about their creations.

  10. If it was done differently, it could've let them save face, at least some.
  11. I liked the wordplay of how Twilight told Applejack to lasso the high strung clouds down to earth, and I liked how the apple monsters were designed and animated.
  12. I think the lesson of not taking things too seriously is great, and that this is the right kind of episode for the 5-minute runtime. Pipp shined and Sunny blossomed. Relatable to everyone. It shows strength from vulnerability. It uses the concept of modern technology well.
  13. Fan AU

When Sunny was very young, she was going to have a baby brother, but he died in childbirth alongside their mother. The deceased baby brother is Sunny's "Spike."

Argyle was a father who indulged his daughter with fantasies but didn't understand how it could become inappropriate or "too much."

Argyle died when Sunny was still a filly. Phyllis ended up raising her alongside her son, Sprout.

They are foils against the plot points where Twilight Sparkle thought that Princess Celestia didn't believe in the tale of the Mare in the Moon, and where Twilight was raised alongside a pony brother in a supportive family.

  14. I feel like the episodes in Tell Your Tale that do not directly connect to the overarching plot or are not focused on modern technology are often better than those that are. For example, Sisters Take Flight. The episode is about leaving the nest and how people might react to the resulting attention differently. Nothing about working towards pony unity and the closest to that is the part where the pegasi struggle to fly properly, which not only plays into the episode's themes but it also sets up for Zipp's episode, where she teaches the pegasi how to fly properly.
  15. Season 5 episode 16: Made in Manehatten

    fanfic idea

    Spoiler

I wonder if Mrs. Pear Blossom is related to Pear Butter, and if she has met her.

I'm also curious if Pear Butter visited Manehatten as a filly and her stories inspired Applejack to move there.

  16. The lesson of this episode is incredibly relatable, and things are not any less busy. The lesson of this episode is incredibly relatable, and things are not any less busy these days. 17. This is one of my favorite episodes of the show. I really liked the song and the montage of failures.
  18. I think that G5 itself can be considered one of the reasons why the MLP fanbase seems to be shrinking at such a rapid speed. One example is the very fact that G5 has basically overridden everything that G4 had built up. It can make watching MLP G4 content feel like a waste because of how G5 handled the continuity, driven by being part of the very same one. If G4 could be as great as it was, having first aired almost 3 decades after MLP started, G5 didn't need to be pushed as hard as it was to keep the franchise successful.
  19. The modern technology aspect still turns me off. I like how the 3 fillies in the episode have bows on their tails.
