I don't use high end electronics either, even my gaming PC can be only classed as mid tier at most, but Linux generally works better than Windows regardless of the fact because of how efficient it is, and as stated by somebody else, it is only because of unintentional coding that games would perform worse on Linux, with all things equal, Linux should be superior because there's less going on in the background. I'm not partial to either Debian or Ubuntu, I use Debian on my Raspberry Pi 5, Ubuntu on my other system, but my experiences with them have been good and I discovered games on Steam work on Linux through Steam Deck which is good. It seems there will one day come a time when incompatibility with Linux will be a thing of the past, for anything DOS related, use DOSbox, I can now play Sim City 2000 on my Pi 5 if I wanted to no problem, and it doesn't crash as long as I don't go too extreme on overclocking. Vulkan may be problematic in some areas but it obviously won't matter in simpler or less graphically intense games like Streets of Rage 4 when the frame rate is already at a stable 60fps, I use Vulkan on my system and not had a single issue from it.

The designs for the Bishoujo statues of Queen Chrysalis and Princess Cadance from My Little Pony FIM are looking good, they appear close to release right now. https://www.youloveit.com/figures/4002-kotobukiya-my-little-pony-bishoujo-series-princess-cadance-and-queen-chrysalis-figures.html

I don't have a month I hate, however if I were to have a month which is my least favourite? probably January or February, though December is the darkest month in northern hemisphere, the coldest months in UK typically begin shortly after that. Not saying I particularly like heatwaves in July, however we don't get them all of the time. One good thing about winter though, is it's not too hot to sleep at night, and my duvet is usually enough to shield me from the worst of the cold weather thanks to insulation in my home. I appreciate the snow in winter sometimes, but it does not snow very often here either where I live.

I don't feel like our world is ready to understand the nuances behind this type of story telling, people too often forget the damage that trauma can to do people and it can manifest itself in different ways like this. Nobody here is saying it is an excuse to do harm, however it explains their behavior, losing a friend can hurt a lot, feelings of jealousy and isolation don't just happen out of thin air. Instead people focus too much on tit for tat instead of helping individuals recover from this, so we're caught in the catch 22 of people wanting to solve a problem, but continue methods that do nothing to fix the problem.

If Starlight Glimmer hadn't of intervened, Luna and Celestia would have failed to cooperate with each other on important matters in Royal Problem, and from where I'm sitting, unleashing the demon Daybreaker would be the last thing Equestria would have needed. Family squabbles should never be left to chance, and before anyone acts high and mighty, cannot do wrong about this, these situations can happen to anyone, it does not matter how well "disciplined" or "competent" people think they are, people have their breaking points, and when people snap, there is a potential for something to go horribly wrong, sometimes violence is the result, this is why it is imperative to break up squabbles instead of letting individuals argue and belittle each other constantly. In every profession there needs to be staff on duty for security, the same is true for royalty. We don't have magic in real life but that does not matter, people did not even need magic in real life and they still get away with malfeasance on a regular basis, people who don't change even if they get pulled into the criminal justice system, sometimes wealthy and privileged individuals get nothing more than a criminal record for felonies, and are allowed to walk the streets. Yes, people who are more dangerous and manipulative than Starlight Glimmer. Compared to that, I'd take living in Equestria any day of the week if I could, but I cannot.

We have wildlife in real life which can be considered dangerous as well, people swim in the ocean knowing full well the risks of riptides and sharks which could eat them, and while sharks do not typically attack humans, there are still recorded instances of this occurring, there's always a chance. What I am saying is, no matter where we are in the world, nature is not perfect. As for Ponies in Ponyville from MLP fiction, they're already aware of the risks of Everfree Forest I think, but they have to live somewhere and it may be one of the few areas in their world with fertile soil for all we know. Sometimes survival means we have to take risks, even if they are not convenient. Ponies are aware of the existence of predatory creatures in their world such as dragons and they do fear them, at the same time though, what can they do? they can defend their territory, sure, they are well within their right to do so, however they know there's a line that shouldn't be crossed because other creatures in their world have as much right to exist as they do, it's why they accepted Spike, knowing full well that he too is a dragon and will one day become an adult. As for the problem of agriculture, better to grow farmlands there, or at least in parts of Equestria where Applejack works in Sweet Apple Acres which is close to Ponyville, than to attempt to do it in a winter wonderland like the Frozen North which would kill a cropfield in an instant. If it wasn't for the fertility of the land from the lower latitudes it's likely Crystal Ponies would not even exist, I'm not as familiar with them as I should be, however I am sure they are not immortal. As noisy as Ponyville would be for me if I could exist in that fantasy world, obviously cannot, but for sake of discussion, if I did, I'd rather take my chances there, than risk hypothermia in a polar region. If I lived in Ponyville long enough I could probably adapt. The availability of food in that region is a considerable advantage, and getting to know Rainbow Dash could make weather somewhat predictable.

Rewatching an episode of Batman the Animated Series - The Forgotten It's a good episode, DCAU's Batman really did care about homeless people, so much so that he put an end to their exploitation by a greedy gold mining businessman who kidnapped them. And although they needed jobs, slavery is not the way to do it. It's a reminder that not all supervillains wear makeup or costumes, sometimes they wear suits and ties, and in this case Boss Biggis nearly got away with it. At least with Joker everybody in Gotham knows about him, Biggis was largely an unknown mobster who had little connections outside his slave camp, that's as under the radar as it gets and many criminals do work like this. If Bruce Wayne had not have been there, Boss Biggis would've been uncontested by police and other activists of justice around Gotham. -
A Princess Celestia statue to go on my shelf, which will arrive next week, then I will have statues of both Canterlot Royal Sisters. Other than that, and a couple of movies like Dark Knight Returns, I did the usual boring stuff, food shopping, but I got soy milk to have in tea so that's enjoyable.

That I can call Snoopy Fan bestie, he has never judged me for my opinions about MLP or anything, and he treats other people well. I never feel agitated when I am around him, and he has a Youtube channel as he states on his own profile.

I see what you mean, some people may not like the noise of city life and would prefer to live in the countryside, It's not that I don't trust residents of Ponyville, though Rainbow Dash's home is in Cloudsdale not Ponyville, but if my social anxiety carried over in that fictional world as it likely would do so for other people who share that experience, Ponyville may become a mental overload for me. That is why I asked in what context does this question mean? do our limitations carry over? or do we live out different lives entirely there? nobody can ever go there to find out of course. I'm just saying it's not residents of Ponyville I'd have a problem with, more like, noise I cannot handle. How good or bad life in Equestria would be for somebody depends on things like which timeline of a fictional universe you go to, and whether or not you have a support network who is willing to help you in your time of need and educate you. I've seen far worse universes in fiction, compared to DC or Marvel which are generally much more chaotic for the sake of entertaining and often mature story telling, Equestria would be a paradise for me, who knows, in an imaginary scenario perhaps different upbringing and environment would enable me to adapt to life there, adaption has its limits though.

Something you can't stand the smell of?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to yoonshi's topic in General Discussion
Cigarette smoke, sewage and burning smells. I dislike it when I smell burning rubbish outside. It's not often it happens, but when it does, I'm trapped with the smell as in summer time I have to keep my windows open or my room gets too hot. Thankfully public places where I live at ban smoking though. -

Dawnshine Wonder replied to Mint Petal's topic in Media Discussion
Minecraft, I've still got to do some interiors of my castle however some of the interiors are going to be based on real life castles which I found images of on Google. Windsor castle is one I was looking at with a friend the other day. No, this castle in my Minecraft world is not going to be Canterlot from My Little Pony, as cool as that castle is, I decided to do something different, but it is a European style castle still, it has an armory hall, a great hall, indoor balconies and all that fun stuff. -
mega thread How are you feeling?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Rift enchanted's topic in General Discussion
I don't know how to discuss it, mispronouncing words sometimes happens and perhaps I should not be too bothered by myself doing it, thankfully a friend on Discord the other week did not interrupt or take what I said out of context, but I really do not know how to bring it up without it being an issue here. -
I don't know what to think of this one, however my advice is try to ignore posts like that, trust me it is not worth getting stressed out over, people make jokes, even bad ones, and I've come to accept it's a fact of life we need to learn to adapt to, as we cannot change what other people are thinking or saying. I do agree with you that Flurry Heart is important to Equestria as well, it seems foal characters get hated on the most and in my opinion, for very flawed reasons. People may not mean it that way, but I have said it before that I consider it ageist for people to imply children are to be seen but not heard from. Some people may consider Flurry Heart annoying, I don't know, but I don't and I'd have the same attitude about this even if I were to live in the fictional world Equestria as a pony myself. About the MLP G4 fan fiction I would hope to get finished someday if I find the motivation to finish it in my notepad with pencil, is that one of the reasons I'd desire to be reborn there, even though it can never happen is this, to restore childhood innocence, to be young again, adventures are at their best with that purity in my opinion as in that case, we are not corrupted by negative influences, and I would not want to carry any of the negative influences from our world, there, I'd want my personality to be like Fluttershy's, shy and respectful, even if it came at the price of being perceived as weak by bullies. I would not want Equestria to be ruined by the selfishness that exists here, though thankfully that can never happen, unless somebody writes a dark story that makes that happen in that fictional universe. I'm sorry that you're going through a bad time right now, I wish you the best, I don't have all the answers, nor do I claim to do so, I just know that whatever you're going through, what other's have said rubbed you the wrong way, I am a sensitive individual myself, I too, can be irked and complain about the negative opinions of other's, but in the end, it's a waste of time, and all it does is brings us down. Our world is not entirely hopeless though, I have found compassionate individuals who do genuinely care about the well being of other individuals and want to help us see the light together, what I mean is, the ethos of friendship is magic, exists here in our world, even though the characters from the show don't. Let us find solace in that friendship, don't let other's negativity destroy you, there is bravery in defiance. I agree with what you said about about Alicorn Princesses in MLP FIM, despite how they rule Equestria, they managed to do so with less violence, and it's one reason I wish to be in that world, to learn from them, not pick fights with them and I certainly don't wish them dead, in fact wishing anyone dead is awful and it goes against everything Twilight Sparkle and her friends stand for. In the TV show MLP FIM even back when Princess Luna was Nightmare Moon, I did not want her dead, I only wanted that character to be stopped for antagonizing her sister and her subjects, and I found her redemption to be beautiful and it proved Luna is not a monster, like anyone else, she had feelings, I don't believe it's funny of anyone else to write stories about killing any MLP character, either.

Lethargic, I kept taking naps during the day, I don't know if it was the heat or what, but it's a phase that will pass over. -
That's good, it's easier to repair electronics than some people might assume, I managed to repair one of my headphones as it was only the headband and ear covers that torn up, and there are DIY repair kits that get sold separately for this. Sometimes, depending on the headphones in question, we can replace the cords ourselves too. DIY repairs on game controllers can be done in a similar way, like if buttons get stuck, sometimes simply cleaning them restores the gamepad back to normal.

That I should pay more attention to what people are saying, a friend on Discord talked about Princess Diana's death during a car crash, at first I was not sure what he was on about, at first he said the queen died, and Queen Elizabeth II did not die from a car accident, but Diana did, then he goes onto mention something about a car crash so I was not sure what he meant. I asked something like "Who caused it? or was it just an accident?" not to be rude about this but I do need to ask specifics about what he is saying sometimes. When I found out he was talking about Princess Diana, my reply was "that sucked" however death happens every day, not something we can do anything about really.

movies/tv Last TV show you watched
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Member Berry's topic in Media Discussion
I watched Star Trek Voyager, only one episode recently, Parallex. They escaped a "type 4 quantum singularity" whatever that is, but it was basically a black hole so scientifically questionable, a real black hole would have cut off all possibility of escape beyond the event horizon, I suppose I shouldn't take it too seriously since this is science fiction, however it does leave people asking questions whether or not future technology could pull this off, even if it could, how would you get back in the same universe? -
Guess they won't be needing lights for that kitchen anymore. from the show Only Fools and Horses, episode Yellow Peril.

Are you ever afraid of saying the wrong thing?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Snoopy Fan's topic in General Discussion
I know that feeling, I've seen this situation play out many times I distance myself from it. People cannot even make a satire without a group of people getting upset about it enough to demand its censorship anymore. TV show creators are constantly walking on eggshells to baby the general public, and this absurdity even affected My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. The point of entertainment is to have fun, but it is not fun when others kick up a fuss for nothing. -
general What were you doing just 10 minutes ago?
Dawnshine Wonder replied to Lisa's topic in General Discussion
I've been thinking through something about how Princess Celestia and Princess Luna in MLP FIM emphasize the importance of balance in nature day and night cycle is important for biological systems, animals rely on it, for sleep and other things, and while the human world does not rely on magic to survive, it is fair to say Equestria does, or at least it is heavily implied in Friendship is Magic. I think the TV show could have done a better job with this, but with such limitations imposed to make it child friendly, people who worked on the show had difficult choices to make. I still like the metaphysical aspect of MLP, because at least then their world isn't just some soulless clockwork like our universe, it has a deeper meaning in how it works, and I liked what they were going for, it kind of reminds me of how some Disney stories were in the 90's, mystical and with powerful beings who had important jobs, and if you were to exist in the fictional world of Hasbro's MLP FIM, it would be basically like living out some RPG adventure fantasy, where you learn that there are life forms with powers beyond understanding and that sometimes you needed to rely on the help of a friend with powers like that to stop a villain.
