  1. Well, aside from the act they live in a primarily land-centered place, ere go less pegasus, pony genetics may provide a good answer. Okay, sure this seems okay, but... horses have more chromosomes, to resist adverse effects of inbreeding. With that. and alicorns, there is a good chance pony genetics would be a bit more complex, still it would work. Realistically, that's probably not the reasoning the producers used, rather that was simply what they came up with. Nothing deep or complex, just what they felt would make for a better show for whatever reasons.
  2. On the internet I am a bit more outgoing, as expected. Most people open up when they can think to type rather than on the spot face to face confrontation. That said face to face confrontation is very good for developing one's skills. Though I can be more loving online that's not all that opens up, my contentious side that is more voiced, sporadic, and aggressive I can come off as a bit of a jerk. Sometimes. Other times I'm far kinder online. It depends on my mood, really. In real life rather than being vocally outgoing, or writing, I am outgoing in what I dress. I can't talk on the spot and that is what makes me less outgoing in real life. On the internet I have crazy avatars and talk about anything, so I tend to be generally one of those people you either love or hate. In real life I dress in pony and pokemon shirts and what not, but I don't do anything offensive, so having mature peers people don't usually have a negative opinion of me. Lately I've been in a great mood, but I still haven't been quite kind as I could be, so even then it isn't just mood, but also what people say and who I encounter. Can't say I am proud of my social inadequacy, but at least I am honest about it, including to myself. People here seem extremely kind, heck, I think even I calm when I go on this site. The atmosphere, pony theme, people, it wraps up nicely into a warm community... other places I have been have dull backgrounds, loads of harsh debating, a lot of things that while making me a little less warm, metaphorically, made me far more resilient to what people say. This has been a bit of a tangent, and that is one thing that is true of me in real life and on the internet, when I do things in conversation I jump around like an autistic kangaroo, metaphorically. A metaphorical analogy, I use weird things like that in both too. Also I can be a dyslexic, ocd, autistic, paranoid, all around mentally abnormal person. And I pride myself in that.
  3. If you want to skip all three paragraphs, short answer: The Adventures of Link. Nes? Oh lawdy, that's a hard one. I love the original final fantasy, the adventures of link and contra were wonderful, Super Mario Bros 3 was such a classic, the nes was a truly beautiful generation of gaming. Indeed! I find 8-bit music quite appealing! I love my gameboy, I find the games intensely more appealing. Of course I have good games for it, or at least what I consider good. Pokemon, FF1, 2, and 5, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, alas, that is not NES. The only NES games I own that I like with a blazing passion are the adventures of link, legend of zelda, and contra. The NES final fantasy is splendiferous however I do not own it. Of what I own my favorite is the adventure of link, it is the one game to utilize leveling and I am a total sucker for level grinding. It's such a beautifully simple system, boost one of three stats: attack, magic, or life. This means you can, essentially, adjust the dificulty on yourself, something that people like me, who suck at gaming, may enjoy. Contra was incredible, however I only beat it with help, and it was rather short... Yet not so short as to be a bad game, no, it was the perfect length. The legend of zelda was so long, but you can grind rupys and get various boosts like the big shield and blue ring right off the bat. I know, I'm a cheapskate. Sue me. Mario was too hard or me, but it was fun. In the end without the restriction of what I have I either like Adventures of Link or Final Fantast I (at the time just Final Fantasy), they both utilize leveling, and have good gameplay. The story of both are a bit substandard for today, but screw the storyline, Kingdom Hearts has a good storyline but it makes it so hard to get into. Zelda is guy kidnaps princess, you get cool sword and magical triangles to kill him. Final fantasy, bad dude wants to rule world, you get crystals and kick their booty-batooty. In the end I like the simplicity and dynamic of The Adventures of Link, so I must place that as my top with FF, SMB3, and LoZ, and Contra, as honorary mentions.
  4. Whatever floats your boat, darlin'. Look at my avatar, it isn't the most self explanatory o avatars but I like it for my own reasons, and that is satisfactory. It makes me happy to express my individual interests even if others do not understand. Why, might you ask, does this make me happy? Because! I enjoy the content (Pokemon nuzlocke, it came off a page of that), and because that one thing makes me happy, seeing this specific frame that I love whenever I post makes me even happier. Self-centered? Sure! Who gives a care, you aren't hurting anybody, and if you are they are far too easily offended, so they need toughen up a bit. Furthermore, I like your avatar. It suits you, you have an interest in... whatever it is, or perhaps you just like the image, that's a great reason too. For people like me the avatar is more of a system of recognition than the names themselves, names are torture to me, so if you want to be represented as you in my eyes and others like me, you need to have a bit of individualism. I'm recognized as a thumb, that's not what my avatar is, but heck with it, thumbs are awesome! More specifically, I like your avatar for the proper size. I hate when people butcher large images into things meant to be small, it's heresy. Lol, perhaps not that bad, but the head shot is +points in my opinion. Perhaps it isn't creepy, even as late at night as it is, but it has a certain edge to it, it is unique, memorable, interesting, catches the eye, it's quite perfect in a way. It does not suit the forms too, I like that. On such specific forums things get boring if you don't broaden off the original intention, so live it up a little and have fun with your avatar as you please.
  5. I can't remember where, but I remember an estimate around 7million. Actually that may have come from my own thinking... I really don't have much to say. I googled it and couldn't find the page I think I saw. Also, google and self research are your best friend, use them! It's admirable!
  6. I think it is increasing, based not only on google search but popularity where I live. Wearing a shirt, a brony shirt and a pinkie clip, a construction worker literally yelled "hey brony," or something along those lines, and I waved back. Keep in mind this guy looked from what I saw give or take thirty. The custom shirt shop, when mom got me the shirt, the lady said that bronies were common and that if I was a brony I probably have a DVD... I do, as a matter of fact. Large celebrities are saying they liked the show, my three examples are Gabe Newell, Bill Clinton (Refer to thread) and notch, who said he was not a brony but liked it. Many articles being published, it is a phenomena, and it's growing. It's made to be a big deal, I think there will be a day where we get as big as furries (if not bigger?) and while the media ruckus is gone, we will still be a large, active fanbase. So considering that we will loose attention, when, and will that halt our growth? I think we will loose growth, but even furries are still growing. As long as the show goes, my theory is we will have sizable growth, then it depends on the fanart. Even Making Fiends (remember that show, it died fast) has a small, small fanbase. We already have the one fan made song that looks official, I think once the show dies a fan series may be started. If so, I think we will grow at a similar rate, otherwise I think it will slow significantly. Tom and Jerry, even, still has a fan base. We won't truly die for an incredible time considering our size. I actually wonder if our fanbase even will die.
  7. I happen to be a public brony, I wear shirts, the clips, I tell people who ask. I find it quite fun. I have many unusual likes, rap, RayWhilliamJhonson (I think he makes good music and has good humor, I laugh with him not at him), I am a furry, I like many games and shows, I'm not afraid to show it. I happen to have a very accepting mom and an obnoxious grandmother, one accepts my intrest and one rejects. Still, even if it is "immature" she does not understand that when I'm not in a strictly formal situation it makes the most sense to be happy, and it makes me happy to hear people interested in my pony apparel. On top of that, I have a very accepting school and peer group. I happen to live in a perfect small town environment where I can comfortably express my interests. Bless our school, you can come out as LGBT and people won't judge. Most teachers are good people, most, but we can't all be perfect. Perhaps had life dealt me a different hand of cards I wouldn't be an open brony, or a brony at all. Who knows, there really is no room to complain, I mean from what I hear and experience our school is a rare gem. One of the nearby schools is two. Two out of three good schools, the beauty of small towns.
  8. I have a sort of split opinion on this. On one hand I feel it is wonderful our influence has been enough for famous people to say that liked it (i.e. Gabe Newell, Bill Clinton, Notch (liked clips he saw, though not a brony because he does not identify as such)). I think it is wonderful to spread our fanbase and as a reason to people that being a brony is not so wrong. It is a sign our community has blossomed into something incredible. On the other hand, they are just people. We follow them and look up to them for their popularity, while in many ways, they are like us. They can have opinions and likes, they have personal friends and lives, they often even have children *gasp* Really, people look up to them (at times, not always) just for how big they are. It's in some ways sad we follow a select few people. On the other hand it has become an incredible tool to get less well known things more well known. As bronies have demonstrated, however, that can happen when large groups of passionate people pop up and rise to the occasion. I really didn't have much to say about it other than that, to be honest it makes me happy to know that he is a brony. It makes me happy it will help spread the word. Logically it just doesn't make sense to put so much control over media in the hands of few.
  9. Now, with that said, I think that bronies and furries have their differences, they are so alike yet so different. They both are big followings of people, with an interest in a type of animal with the ability to talk, often to fly or use magic. We both have extremists, we fight among ourselves and at times fight together. We have so much in common, but we are not the same. Its like taking a corgy and a schnauzer, they are both canines, which is very alike, but they have different fur, different bodies. The size of the difference or similarity is relative to how you look at it. Even if we are similar, we are most certainly not the same. The biggest difference is how we identify, you are a brony or a furry if you say you are one, and for no other reason. You cannot force someone to be or not to be a furry, as with bronies. My point is this, you choose what you are, and we choose to be different, so we are. While the original interest is either ponies or anthros, often people stay just for the community, and are still a brony or furry if they choose to identify as such. Furthermore furries are specific to anthros, while bronies come for ponies, the ponies while exhibiting some anthropomorphic characteristics are nor fully anthropomorphous. My point is you could say you were a furry for liking ponies, it is not standard. It is the same vice versa, you could say you are a brony for liking their anthropomorphic characteristics it is very abnormal. Due to the incredible rarity of such an event it is safe to assume furries are not bronies, and bronies are not furries. The tie breakers of these two unusual opinions is personal identification, one supporting reason is that it prevents differing ideas from the groups from claiming people from the other side, or similar confusion. Much like the English term love it is very subjective, much like furries and bronies. Like I said, it depends on the individual. I have friends that like MLP that aren't bronies, and I've seen people with an interest in anthros that are not furries. Often these are used as group identification, implying you are a member of the community, sometimes a devoted member, and sometimes not at all.
  10. The pornographic side of the fandom. That is the one biggest hater magnet. When I originally became a furry that was my moms biggest concern upon talking with her friends. At this point I guess I'm not as into it, I stay a furry for the community however. I know a number of kind people who are furries, and the concept of anthropomorphism is interesting to me. Being America I think we have a lot to do with it, we bubble wrap our children, no cuss words, absolutely taboo are genitalia, and so many of our topics end up as fighting grounds. We are the country that cares about all the things that don't matter, so naturally I assume while not all of the haters are here in the U.S.A. many of them probably are. The reason people out of the U.S. people not bubble wrapped I assume dislike it is because they find it gross, it's like non-religious people who hate on the LGBTQ community, it's gross, that's their logic. Same with furries, being animals many people think that the porn is not only revolting for being a fetish but a common belief is that it is bestiality. If that wasn't the reason people could make others, perhaps that they are people stuck in a fantasy life, or a million other things. People who hate indefinitely will MAKE reasons, that is psychology. I speak from experience, when you are depressed you make reasons that your situation is bad, even if they are illogical. Heck, the sheer abnormality could be a reason in some peoples minds. In short the two reasons are this, everything and everyone has haters, and people feel being interested in anthropomorphism means you are interested in furry porn by extension, in their mind, bestiality. So there is no GOOD reason people stereotype-hate furries, hating anybody as a group is almost always a bad idea. The only reason to stereotype that I can think of at the moment is simplicity. I'm going to put myself on the line here. I say I am asexual for simplicity sake, but let's take a deeper look. While in terms of drawings I do partake in viewing explicit art, I use that as relief. I am a teenager, and I get stressed, so sometimes it is one of few things that will help, that is simply the fact of the matter. However despite that I logically do not want a relationship. On a further coin while sometimes I am demisexual upon imagining "it" is not something I want in a real situation. So I could be classified as practicing celibacy, straight, demisexual, asexual, and aromatic, but in a real scenario I am disgusted, so where it matters I am asexual. It is easiest not to explain so I say asexual, and that is . By the same logic it is much easier to not explain the minorities and stereotypes in some situations can be a great time saver, when both parties or individuals recognize the exceptions. I avoid stereotyping even in the rare scenario it is mildly appropriate. Building good habits is a good thing. Abusing this logic and ignoring the exceptions people apply it to all sorts of a group, or perhaps ignoring the logic entirely and stereotyping without discretion. People hate furries as a whole for their art and other things, as some people will do with all groups. It's not really avoidable, furries often having the fetishes, the abnormalities, the interest in anthropomorphism, the sizable fanbase, they are the prime internet punching bag for people with personal insecurities.
  11. I absolutely adore the new series Tron: Renegade. My personal guess as to why it isn't very popular (as far as I am aware) is the original tron and Tron: Legacy, even the PS3 game, were dispersed over a long period of time. With fans of the original Tron (like myself) few in number, the interest in legacy and the video game dropped, and by extension the interest in the show was just as low. I can't really pinpoint why I like it, it's probably a combination of nostalgia, bias, and quality of the show itself. I like it just as much as MLP: FiM and Gravity Falls, and more than The Legend Of Korra (but LoK is still epic). I'd like to see more people take an interest in Tron like Animal Crossing just came out of nowhere, but most people think Tron in this day is just bearing a dead horse.
  12. I'm going to bump this, so, sorry, but this is a good find. First, personal find, Lauren Faust stated that the ponies reproduce "normally," meaning they do their thing and, I'm reading into this, have the same mating cycles as a normal equine. To balance it out and prevent exponential population growth they have to die at a rate to match the births, so it can be assumed they live something near the general equine age of 20-30. http://scifi.stackexchange.com/questions/6699/pony-ages-in-my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic http://duplexfields.deviantart.com/art/Age-Of-Ponies-Math-206406074 Based on these we can assume that the mane 6 are around 10, and they are of full working age, which is the human equivalent of what, 18, knowing they did not take college. So they were already in work before those ages, so we can assume about an absolute maximum age of around 50. I always took the mane 6 to be more about the human equivalent of 25, which would mean about 40 years old max, assuming people live to 100. Taking into account the reproductive cycles relating to the ages, and normal equines living to be about 20-30, I estimate that their age of death lies somewhere around 20-50, plausibly 30-40.
  13. Vulpes? I've been Vulpes, like, forever. Well, it started out when I found about the furry fandom. I liked foxes (How original!) and not knowing a vixen was a female fox that was it... After the forum I was Vixen shut off I found the scientific classification for a red fox, ending in Vulpes Vulpes, so I went as that and it spread everywhere. I am known by many names but Vulpes and Vulpy are my primary names.
  14. Pain. I absolutely fear pain. When it happens I'm not afraid, but I have this phobia of what causes pain. I take measures against getting hurt. Obviously I don't try that hard, I have cut towards myself. I'm a genius, and I was in boy scouts told not to do that for ages. Yeah. Don't do it. I'm a living example. Long story short we had to drive 30min from our camp site to the ER. Of course getting cut didn't hurt for the adrenaline, but the pain didn't bother me once it was there. If I don't know what is causing the pain I freak out inwardly, while outwardly poker face describes me quite well. For example I get pain in my side "APPENDICITIS, PNEUMONIA, OMG I'M SO SICK." Yeah, that's basically what I do. Failure. Rejection. I have social anxiety so rejection is terrifying. Getting a bad grade, being insulted, I have a huge emotional reaction. It's been wired into me, the failure is from a lot of misinformation from mom that if I don't get great grades that I wont do well later on. I was told this sort of thing over and over so failing one grade feels like I was just told I was fired and lost my home. As for rejection that was just that I was so often insulted sometimes the only way to get any compliments was to get depressed, so I'd cry and say morbid things so people would correct me. Only now when that happens do I see voluntarily what is happening.
  15. With both cats and dogs I dislike the cleaning. It is very time consuming, especially for people like me. I am in after school leadership class, swim team, will be in karate and piano lessons, was in geometry online with no teacher, on top of algebra. I'm taking cognitive behavioral therapy and I just enjoy having some free time, having an animal would really be taxing on me, even in the summer I spend time with friends and have homework. It would be incredibly taxing on people like me. On top of that not all animals are the same, and I prefer the more calm, interdependent animals. Ones you can cuddle when either of you want, they wont fight, and it's just so mutually good. With dogs I dislike the need to walk all the time, while walking is awesome I just don't have the time and out weather in the winter is just too nasty snowy to make it comfortable walking. They always want to play and depending on the dog they interpret cuddle as throwing the ball for them. I don't like when they won't just be there and cuddle. Cuddliness is a huge selling point for me. Cats kicking the litter, it makes such a mess and we don't have indoor room where litter can be kicked. They cuddle and all but cleaning the litter box taxes the time almost as much as walking without the exercise. With both cats and dogs I love the calm ones. Animals that will sit and let you pet them, and animals that don't bite or claw when not threatened. Animals that only play when you urge them to play, that's a high expectation and my specifications with cleaning and calmness level simply wouldn't comply, I won't have a child when I get older. Human babies disgust me. They are loud, dirty, and needy. If you want needy dirty and loud get an animal, that is one of few times I excuse loud and dirty. It's the whole point. As for both the positive is the same, the cuddliness and the caring. They come to you when you are sad or hurt. Cats more in general, dogs more likely to when you are hurt... The calmness of the cat just makes up for how much a dog cares, to be honest. I love calm animals, and I like outgoing people. What I expect of peoples is the opposite of what I expect of other animals, ironic because we are all animals, so why have such different expectations. That's something interesting to look into psychologically, my personal bias.
  16. Earlier I forgot to mention this, so screw editing, we're far along enough I'll post a separate deal. I despise the trend "tell me if you need something." Look, if I am comfortable enough with you, and trust you, then I don't need your permission, I'm going to tell you weather you like it or not. Usually a real friend won't mind, so if people freak out when I'm in trouble I know who's a real friend. It's not that the saying is offensive, but it is empty of content. Like I said I don't need your permission, I'm going to say it. I suppose it does express a sense of caring, but unless someone doesn't know you that much that they need to know you let it happen naturally rather than sending an invitation straight to personal talk. Personal talk is what starts fights from my experience, so wait until the relationship is strong. If you do, then they really don't need permission. If you have advice to give, give it then and there, and if not, don't spam invitations. So there isn't really anything bad about it, but there isn't really any good either, it's just a waste of time. Also, this can't be popular because I get these invitations like spam. EDIT: Human babies are revolting and I don't know what the appeal of them is. They are loud, dirty, and needy. They take and don't give anything back.
  17. In short, a good friend once told me something wise, something they had heard, "you can't pay the bills with checks in the mail." It was a long, deep conversation, something I really needed. I was having a hard time, they told me a few new mottoes that I am trying to live by and that is one of them. I am a severe procrastinator and so are they, they said that quote was the best advice they have ever given... Even though in this day I don't fully understand it, I believe them, they said I would get it when the time was right... Procrastination is one of the hardest obstacles to overcome for many of us... The internet is a tool of great capability, to both entertain and more importantly educate. Many of us, however, including myself, choose entertainment most of the time. Sure, apps like StayFocused help, but people in real life are very distracting too. Why do something important when you can do something fun? When you hear it as it really is, it sounds absolutely idiotic. As you near your date you tell yourself "I'll work harder later," I know because that is literally what I am doing this very instant. There isn't much you can do to fight it, it's like laziness, you just have to... do it. It's not something you can really teach, there are preventative measures like the motto, but in the end you just have to learn to fight it... That doesn't mean one day you get to stop or get great at it, you have to keep fighting it. Just like any disorder. I have to take CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy) but if I stop for a while I become bitter. Just like that you have to keep practicing the motto's and you have to keep doing it. It's a life long trial for many. Currently, for example, I need to read bullfinches mythology, 900 pages of book. I have to take notes, too. I have less than three weeks and I was sating "50 pages a day" now it's "100" and if I don't get my but up and do it, stop making up reasons, it will be "200," and that's just stressful. I'm listening to music to keep me happy, and I just took my CBT class yesterday, nonetheless I have yet to begin. Much like apathy you have to learn it. Your experiences, yourself, have to essentially program that into your standard thoughts. Some people pick apart what others say, while I am oblivious. I'm not very social while many people are. In the end if you want to change problems like procrastination you literally have to go against your instinct and make yourself something you weren't. By that same note I have accidentally programmed aggression into my debating, listening to some youtubers and debating with certain people essentially programmed me to become aggressive and passionate, to fight tooth and nail for what I believe in. Sometimes that me comes out when I don't want it to. In the same way I accidentally programmed that into myself I have to essentially "uninstall" it. To do so I have to go against my new nature, and to do that I have to not fight when it is the one thing I want most. It's like an addiction. To beat procrastination you have to become addicted to punctuality in a sense. Of course this is all one big jumbled set of poor analogies, so maybe it doesn't make sense. If it does, hurrah.
  18. Since I am new here... To the first forum I ever was on! Welp... It's official. I was retarded. Every year I realize how stupid I was the year before. I couldn't find much, but in short I was an uneducated spaz with no idea of politics, poor logic, and just all around ridiculous and needy. Like I said I couldn't find too much so there isn't much I can say, but with memory ans what I found this is what I can understand.
  19. 5. Twilight Sparkle, again I feel a strong connection to the characters here. She is an intelligent pony poorly equipped for social situations, much like myself. 4. Mr. Fancy Pants, okay, I'm being totally biased, bite me. Jonathan Coulton wrote a little song called "Mr. Fancy Pants," I like the song and idolize Mr. Coulton. I'm not big on music and I love him, so with a pony Fancy Pants I can't help but love him... especially how great of a personality he has, he deviated from the crowd to compliment poor Twilight. 3. Fluttershy, I just feel empathy when I see her, I tent to have social anxiety as mentioned before and I just feel more like I'm not alone in my stresses. 2. Snowflake, hipster time. He's the really muscular guy in Hurricane Fluttershy. He was one of the first extremely abnormal pony designs, he was absolutely hilarious in both physique and the one golden moment where he yells out "yeah!" 1. Pinkie Pie. It took me a while, at first I though she was corny, but with time she became one of my favorites. Giggle at the Ghosties helped me through social anxiety, and I think she is just an all around fun, outgoing character. I love most all of the ponies, but these are the top 5 I decided to go with. I'm indecisive so I let myself be a bit biased to make it easier on myself. Bite me.
  20. No, it might but for some strange reason I hate apples, tomatoes, and onions. I know with apples I find the texture unappealing on apples, but the taste of onion and tomato bothers me. Ironic, because I am Italian.
  21. I have a number of them, but let's just say whatever comes to mind. Happiness is overrated. If our ancestors were content banging rocks on other rocks and eating bark, and the next generation and so on, we wouldn't be here. With content the need to innovate is absent. Sorry, I have asthma and I like the inhalers keeping me alive. I like my bike and I like learning new things. If I was content there wouldn't be a want for me to learn, and without learning you are susceptible to be controlled by those who are educated. If I was content I wouldn't care about eating, I would starve. If you are happy, chances are you are content. Don't get me wrong, without happiness there would be no reward for learning, but being happy all the time isn't as great as it sounds. Not to mention you get used to the pampering and once the happiness stops the pain hurts so much worse. Balance is needed. There is nothing wrong with Twilight (book), Justin Beiber, Cloppers, Friday (song), ect. As long as they aren't hurting one it's fine. Twilight was directed at young females, alike my little pony despite in my opinion being less tasteful if you like it that's your thing. Sure, Justin made it big, that's media, kid got lucky don't hate on him for it. As for the people who who "clop," that is their decision, and for those who draw it, that is their decision as well. I have no right telling them how to spend their time. Live and let live, each to their own, but quite frankly if I'm to be honest I don't even care, it's how people want to be, so let them live a little. Again, if it isn't hurting anyone it is fine. There is no such thing as a good government. See my post on "Does true power become a source of corruption" [link] Sweets don't taste good. I was raised on watered down juice and a predisposition to not having much of a sweet tooth. American candy is disgustingly sweet and super dark chocolate is amazing. I need to move somewhere where candy doesn't taste like sugar and flavoring. Television and internet is absolutely disgusting, you pay money to stream channels which they actually put commercials, and if you want more channels with commercial then you have to pay more, and they stream channels that are commercials weather you want it or not. You close in on your download limit faster with youtube adds and having to pay to watch adds is the most revolting thing. Actually I bet a number of people will agree. The military and cops of america are not great people. Most of the time they are not patriotic, often just doing it for money, and some of the time are just in it for a license to kill. I don't dislike any of them except the mean ones, but I don't think they are these wonderful people we make them to be. Patriotism sucks. Why be proud for the accomplishment of others and the random chance that you were born in your country? It's like being proud of rolling a set of dice and getting the number you needed by sheer luck. Why be proud, it's not your ability it's chance. Rap is wonderful. I second the Gamecube being awesome, with epic multiplayer. The nintendo Wii and the upcoming WiiU are lame gimmicks. Anime, while not being bad, is unentertaining. I am asexual, not interested in sexuality. I fully support LGBTQ rights. Bread is wonderfully bland and unappealing. Watching sports for any reason other than social is boring. Probably only unpopular in the atheist community-- I think that there are Christians, as Christians and as a whole, who are genuinely smart, kind, and respectable people. I think that all cuss words should be allowed at all times. **** mass censorship. RWJ is still hilarious. The new ice cream Pokemon evolution set is BA. Ketchup is the worst condiment. Ever. Onions and tomatoes are nasty. People need to put more effort into their posts (except in spammy threads) Australia is awesome. CMC episodes are absolutely mindbogglingly boring. Star wars is boring. Pedophiles =/= child molesters. Halo and other FPS are boring. Superheros are boring. (I am VERY easily bored) Aaaand I believe that is all I can think of at this late hour.
  22. Life... It is one of the most beautiful things. The individual may make the neurons in their brain say it doesn't matter, or that it is wonderful, but perhaps not for why I say it is beautiful. Every little thing is a miracle, a literal miracle. Doesn't matter if it's alive or not. Weather you believe in a god or not it applies. You can take your guesses but I won't tell you if I do or don't believe in a god or gods. So as I was saying, every little thing was either created by someone or a few people who always were, or it was spontaneously there. Weather it was creation, something beautiful in that some being with great knowledge had the ability to create everything made an immense plane of existence, or everything some way some how came into being. Such a phenomena that anything even exists. Sure, with infinite nothing and infinite time it could be quite likely, but whatever was the "first" energy, that is an incredible concept. Given that our mere existence as energy is amazing look at the diversity, positive and negative charge, waves and particles, everything virtually the same assembles into such massive diversity. Heck, there must be types of energy we aren't aware of. Now the idea that on one little world a sequence of chemicals assemble into life forms, the chances are so slim, and it functions like a computer. A computer that literally made itself, presuming there is no god, and a computer that was spontaneously there, if there is. No matter how you look at it is incredible. In fact presuming there is no god you could live for the sheer thought that you are something incredibly rare, and if there if that you were created to serve. Either way the energy that is assembled into us is amazing. Trillions of neurons firing, carbon and water, a computer of debated origin that develops on it's own. It learns and thinks, it moves and can escape the logical realm. We are incredible creatures. The pain we feel is an illusion created by our own bodies. We are no more than the air around us, made of the same quarks (that's what makes up protons neutrons and electrons). Incomprehensible numbers of these little balls of energy into bigger balls of energy into balls of energy with balls of energy orbiting that making chemicals that make chains and catalysts and those managed to form us! These tiny little things form us. Know what we rely on? We rely on other things just like us, built in minerals made of the same atoms, and we feed off of the plants and other animals which feed off the plants and the plants use the energy, the light and radiation from the sun, and the ground and the minerals, water and oxygen, and builds itself. The chance of our existence right now is incredibly slim. We don't even exist, in a way. We are energy, but we perceive things in colors and sound, but it is all energy. We have adapted to see, feel, use and hear much of this energy. That is also a massive feat. The little squabbles and pain and hurt and disease, that is so insignificant! The sheer improbability makes life the most beautiful thing that could ever possibly be! Now take the things we do with this miracle called life, we survive, we beat the odds, we create things and we innovate, we take our world and make it do what we want it to do. We fix our pains. We commit our lives to making our lives better. While self centered we are so improbable that that is the best thing we could do! Expand out knowledge, fulfill our curiosity, ease our pains and be happy! Making our own lives better and exploring what we naturally want. This incredible existence, where in our minds, harnessing this energy around us, we have made tales like my little pony. We have such immense capability that we have in our own heads created entire universes. You tell me that this life isn't beautiful! /end rant
  23. My parents divorced so this hits me right in the heart, but it isn't my worse as two posts ago. I just remembered it. http://chromafox.deviantart.com/favourites/?offset=24#/d3k5k6d
  24. I can see it as being less of a deal here but in some forums it encourages an elite-st attitude, which in turn means that a lot of the people get aggressive about post count be it directly or indirectly. I can't find where it was but there was a post somewhere saying that people wanting to keep their forum status as respected or gain that status may become aggressive. You don't seem to fit that, but I can say for certain I've met people like that.
  25. Perhaps I'm forgetting something worse, but here is the first thing that comes to mind. I was watching deer with my dad... he wanted to hunt, I just wanted to watch. So we were sitting silently in the stands and after a loud crack the deer tried to jump away instinctively, It hit the barb wire fence and fell. It turns out my dad shot one of the legs so it suffered a bit more than it would have. After that we had to drive it and clean it, but the worst was watching how much pain it was in for that short time, he said adrenaline kicked in, but I can't see that not hurting, and even if it didn't it was the end of a life then and there... I could never hunt.
