So I listened to one of In Flames' newer songs (the one bellow). There's this thing going around that In Flames are sell outs now.

OK so I listened to it and it wasn't bad but, I wasn't a huge fan of the vocals. It also had this sorta radio friendly vibe to it. So yea, In Flames did sell out the same way Metallica sold out with The Black Album. Not that TBA is bad, it's just not nearly as good as KEA or AJFA. Anyways here's my favorite song off Lunar Strain.

I only own one album by In Flames as of right now, which is "Come Clarity". That song you posted actually sounded pretty damn good to me, I might check out that album now. I still need to buy one of their older albums though.

About the Black Album, I agree that it is not nearly as good as AJFA, which is probably my favorite Metallica album.

Dude I listened to the song "Come Clarity" and I thought it fucking sucked dick. Like, how do they go from playing melodic death metal to whatever crap that was?

This song reminds me of Carcass's Heartwork. If you're interested in In Flames early stuff, here's a good song.

EDIT: I forgot to post the song lol.

Yeah I personally don't think that In Flames are selling out

They still seem like In Flames to me, they sound different, but they're not completely different

Regardless new or old In Flames, I still do like both of them a lot

But anyways I'll leave a Converge song here

Don't be such an elitist

In Flames are still a Melodic Death Metal band

And they still have used the same writing techniques that they previously did

They changed their sound, but they still are In Flames

Eh, I'd have to disagree. They still have the "In Flames" sound, but that's from since like, Clayman. You can barely tell it's them from the first four albums they made. Also, they're not still melodic death metal. They're pretty much alternative metal from 2004 onwards. RRtR and Clayman are kinda debatable as to whether it's more melodeath or alternative metal though. People sometimes call it "Modern Metal" but I really dislike that term.

Not saying whether or not it's bad or anything, just trying to clear some misconceptioninging.

And because melodeath, here's one where I prefer Liiva's vocals to Angela's.

I didn't mean to say that they still were a Melodic Death band

Silly me, not thinking before I type

And yeah I as well hate the whole Modern Metal term

It just doesn't make any sense at all

Damn, I think I just found my thread! Haha >;D some of my favorite local artists consist of Megadeth, Slayer, and Linkin Park since I'm from California. Some other kickass bands would be; Pantera, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Velvet Revolver, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, and Killswitch Engage along with Anthrax and Slipknot. Gotta give credit to Iron Maiden and Judas Priest as well as Ozzy Osbourne haha rock on everypony! \m/>_<\m/

Dude just because it's not death metal doesn't mean it "sucks dick" or it's crap. It's just a different style, and I happen to like it a lot actually. If you don't like it, fine whatever, but that doesn't mean it sucks dick.

And by the way, I've heard that song you posted, and yeah it's pretty good.

Damn you like quite a bit

You've named off bands that I love

And ones that I'm not a fan of

Nine Inch Nails are pretty much my all time favorite band at this moment

And it's cool to have another Killswitch Engage fan hanging around here

The only Linkin Park stuff that I like is from Meteora and before

Slayer are the only Thrash band that I've liked along with that one Aspid album

But anyways NIN forever

And I feel like posting another Converge song

Whiplash anyone?

I know I know, they've released better albums (Power and Pain), but I thought the groove in this riff is smooth and tasty.

Almost all of that was Post-Hardcore/Metalcore. Circle Takes the Square is pretty cool, though. Did you hear about their new album? It's free on their bandcamp.

My personal favorite screamo band.

One thing to learn while you're here

These two bands don't get mentioned here for reasons

Oh well, enjoy your stay and have fun

What are the reasons?  Why not mention those two out of all the ones I put.  I don't get it.  Please tell me why those artists are not mentioned here.

Oh boy... you must be new here. And did you call Aman Amarth screamo?

So I'm going to post some Sadistic Intent. I like their cover of The Exorcist.

*ahem* since I feel kind enough to go through the explanation of those two bands

Asking Alexandria and Bring Me The Horizon are very controversial bands

Many people hate them and disrespect their fanbase, because they are mostly scene kids and emo kids

Though why do people hate those bands? Because their style is generic sounding and their looks are a turn off

The two of them are known as scene bands and highly disrespected because of their looks

My personal opinion on those two bands is that they are bad but not terrible

The thing that gets me off about them the most

Is well...the way they look tends to bleed into the music and really effect the listening quality of their songs

Their looks make their music hard to have appeal from people outside of the scene sub culture

Which causes people, such as I, to not be able to take them seriously

New guy, don't let any of them turn you off from posting anything you like. If they really say anything serious against them, fuck 'em. I doubt anyone will, most of us here are civil and nice. I think img-1289378-1-huh.png

Post what you like, and worst comes to worst we'll poke a little fun and maybe recommend you a few bands that we like more. (To be honest, Asking Alexandria has been on the butt-end of more than a few of my jokes).

Nobody else here but @, likes these guys. Plebs 5ever. Suck it Djenty, wallow in the pleb.

Isn't Bronyfied a brony artist? I think I've heard some of his MLP remixes, he's pretty good.

Nobody else here but Railrunner likes these guys.

I'm sure I'd like them if I actually took the time to listen to them. They seem along the lines of something I would normally like from what I can tell.

Oh boy, here we go again with people hating on someone just because he likes certain bands. Just let people listen to what they like, is that so hard?

We're not hating on him

At least I'm not trying to

Yeah pretty much this

Twili knows a better way to approach things than I do

And to be honest BMTH's upcoming album sounds decent

Maybe not the greatest, but an improvement from their other stuff

Not really sure why I like them so much. Their riffs are all recycled from song to song and the lyrics are all about hatred and war and anti-capitalism with a deadly dose of profanities.

Is A Day to Remember even metal? They seem like a mix of metalcore and pop-punk or something to me. I wouldn't call them metal really. I only know this one song though, which I admit I like actually.

Pretty much what Twiliscael said. It's all good! You might want to know that screamo is quite different from metalcore, post-hardcore, and metal.

And I like Amon Amarth too. Favourite song?
