Time for a little Napalm Death.  I first discovered them when I picked up the Mortal Kombat soundtrack back in '95, and it's pretty awesome how these dudes are still going strong after all these years.

I just downloaded this album, so far I'm really digging it.

Carcass is better than Napalm Death.

I would of said first anime, but I grew up watching Dubbed anime when I was only 5, so technically it was only my first subbed anime.

The only dubbed anime I like is Hetallia.

Just running through some old Nile. I don't get why I never got into them.

This was a really solid listen.

Never could get into their debut, but damn the new one is something. Very creative feel to it.

Napalm Death is one of the most consistent bands of all time.

Get the fuck out of here.

This one song is better than Carcass' whole discography.

Now, understand, I'm not hating on Carcass. Symphonies of Sickness and Reek of Putrefaction were certainly instrumental in advancing the whole 'gore' aspect of grindcore. But then they went and made bullshit-tier melodeath albums.

I disagree, and I've listened to all of Carcass' albums. (It's still a good song though.)

Their third album wasn't even melo-death. It's sorta grindy sorta proggy death metal.

Just found these guys Remembering Never. They give me a Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza vibe, though a bit slower, groovier, and less chaotic.

Definitely something to check out some more of.

I've been listening to a lot of Cruel Hand lately.  Helping me through those long hours.

I've heard some of Outbreak's work, and I know Cruel Hand started as a side project of their's. Definitely something I'd look inot based on that track.

Yeah, so, after listening to Five Finger Death Punch's first two albums multiple times, I can't really say I'm impressed. The only song I really like is Dying Breed. War Is The Answer, Canto 34, The Way of the Fist, and White Knuckles aren't bad. All the other songs are just...meh. Not that great. I'm pretty disappointed to be honest.

So there's Archspire.

It's like Brain Drill but with actual musical talent and without inducing headaches to the listener.

I personally apologize for the rec, then. I thought maybe it was up your alley

Lol it's not your fault, I was trying to get into them anyway. I thought they would be something I could get into, but I guess they just aren't as good as I was expecting. At least I like one song a lot lol, it's better than nothing.

I finally found an Opeth album I love in Damnation, so I hope Opeth continues to deliver the goods.

Ghost Reveries is definitely my favorite Opeth album.  This entire band is goddamn brilliance incarnate.  It's hard for me to choose a favorite Opeth song because they all evoke so much emotion.  Deliverance and Damnation are both masterpieces too.  Damnation's lighter/ somber sound is one the band's shining moments, imo.

This song is excellent to listen to while driving through a heavily wooded area with rolling hills during Autmun.  I've done it, and it's quite fantastic.

Also, been listening to some Fedrik Thorendal lately, while I've been feelin' particularly broody.

Since you guys are talking about Opeth, what would be the easiest Opeth stuff for me to get into? It seems like you all have different opinions on what the best album is, so I can't really ask what the best album is lol

Blackwater Park, Damnation, or my personal favorite, Ghost Reveries, are regarded are the best starter albums to Opeth.

Ghost Reveries is definitely my favorite Opeth album

And damn straight it is their best

My favorite Opeth album right now is Watershed. God damn.

This album is easily Opeth's most varied offering, and I like how not every song is in 6/8 at the same tempo as Opeth likes to do.

Today I checked out a band i probably should have a long time ago. That band is Corelia, and damn am I impressed.

They sound like something of a hybrid of the newer works of Between The Buried And Me and Periphery (and even have Sotelo do a guest appearance to boot), especially in terms of the guitarwork and vocals. The growls sound shockingly similar to Tommy Roger's. Definitely a band I will be looking out for in the future.

Edit: Hail our lord and savior.

Wow... just wow, this thread hasn't had a single new post for over 24 hours. Better do something about that. Here's some Death

I really love that tribal-esque drum intro!

I was waiting for the generic "WOW OMG GUISE WHY IZ DIS THREAD SO DED?" comment. But anyways I'm gonna listen to Rosetta's newest album in it's entirety before I go to bed, since I've been meaning to for a while.

New BoO that released last month is pretty stellar.  First time I actually got to listen to it, and I may pick up the album in a few days.  Solid tunes from theses guys.

Right now I've been jamming along to quite a bit of Birds In Row, sucks that The Chariot's farewell tour isn't coming anywhere near me and they're the opening act.

Also I only made it halfway through the new Rosetta album, it's not bad but it's really not even half as great as any of their other albums, Wake/Lift is still my favorite by them.

I have a friend who's massively obsessed with this band. It's his all-time favorite. When I first listened to them I couldn't really get into them because of my obsession with fast music but I've been listening to a lot of slower music lately like Amon Amarth so I decided I'd give Opeth another shot. I do not regret this decision.

I was in a Birds in Row craze a few days ago and now I feel like replaying their entire discography again

By the way, sucks about the whole The Chariot farewell tour thing. But if it makes you feel any better, it's not even coming anywhere near my continent ;_;
