Ho-how did I get you hooked on Kreator? I've never once posted Kreator! Also, I'd change it back now, but I've used up my name changes for the month. -_-

1) When I was setting up my examples for the music quality thing, and searching up videos, I wound up listening to a lot of their set for their Wacken live show!

2) God damn it! :(

THRICE LEVELS ARE NOW AT A SUITABLE HEIGHT.

This song is probably one of my new favourites. It's starts of slow and stoic-like, until it gets darker and darker and darker! Heavy!

And at 3:46... just crank up the volume.

Um, forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't Thrice just a rock band? I've looked up some stuff and even prior to this, I was told they were classified as hard rock at the most.

Technically yes, but between their old stuff and their new stuff they had some pretty metal-ish stuff if you ask me. Just listen to this all the way through and tell me it's not metal:

...actually I guess it's more really slow post-hardcore, but I consider that to be metal. :P

On another note, I say "stuff" a lot.

Heard it. I think you'd be correct on the slow post-hardcore part (but I know nothing of the Hardcore stuff), plus, Crispy's posted some Hardcore in this thread, so I can't complain/judge.

Live Devy is best Devy.

Me gusta his Ocean Machine: Biomech album thingy.

Alright now I'll leave y'all alone. :P

DJENT! Djent is basically a *relatively new* type of metal. Discuss.

EDIT: And I know bands don't like being called djent, but it's easier to label things... I'M SORRY

Does Djent really need to break away from the Metal thread?

Also, Meshuggah has been around since '87, though they had a more of a thrash influence on the first album.

To be honest, I found Fiction to be a rather forgettable album. This song is absolutely amazing, however-and, off topic, the album art of Fiction is awesome. Perhaps it'll get better after a few more listens.

Oh sorry guys  .... I've always thought contradictions collapse to be thrash, rather than djent...

OOHHHH! I raise your In Flames with my System of a Down!

SOAD's pretty awesome, although I personally prefer Serj's solo work to his work with the band.

If you cannot enjoy this, then you TRULY do not know the true spirit of metal!

I really don't know what to think of that.....it was the biggest clusterfuck of ambient sounds I've ever heard, but on the other hand, it's just amazing.

Dream Theater is my all time most favorite metal band ever! It's probably mostly because half the time they don't even sound like metal. This song in my opinion is one of their best. If you have the time its really worth listening through. If your impatient skip to 26:09. That's the fifth movement of the song, and it's incredible in my opinion.
