Currently listening to Dead Swans, though.  They've got an interesting feel to them.  It's like what Defeater would sound like if they tried to cover the slower tunes by The Banner.

 

I found out about them when I was trying to find that album by Swans named "Swans are Dead", didn't regret clicking on them while I was trying to find that album.

 

 

Got something else for you guys to stare at.  Group's name is Solus.  It's got an interesting feel.  Not quite blackened, not quite hardcore... good stuff though.

So every time I find Christian music that isn't your typical pop or hymn stuff I remember when I was told that the point of Christian music is the worship of God. It's at this point that I remember that there's so much wasted potential.

I get the same feeling for anyone who puts lyrics above anything else in music too though. Some people value music they can "relate" with so highly that they can't listen to music that they don't relate to at all and great music is lost between the cracks.

This is the case with the above song. This song is great and every time it changes tempo it's always so jarring that it just fits somehow.

I almost wanna say that lyrics are a poison on music. So much music is passed by for that simple fact that someone can't relate to it and some bands like Manowar are considered comical because they are talking about things that are not possible to relate to and talk about such fantastical things as Norse mythology.

The soul of music is lost when lyrics invade it and people start passing over it for such trivial reasons. Lyrics add unnecessary definition to something that should be able to express emotion without the need for it.

I think this quote perfectly describes the album. Not sure about you guys, but Sunbather was an emotional roller coaster for me
