movies/tv What cartoons should "die out" already?

When a company has a hit cartoon they usually try to make that cartoon last for a very long time.

And when the cartoon does last for a very long time it seems to lose it's charm and quality.

Spongebob for example was a great cartoon with a hilarious script.

Over a very long time the show seemed to lose it's charm hilarity.

People still watch it today, but heck, I sure don't.

Personally I think Nickelodeon should end the show already.

Wait.

Oh yeah, that's right.

That's the only show their channel is surviving off of now a days.

So what cartoons do you think should be ended?

Many good cartoons that can't be for a very long time. unless they get remade. Like Scooby Doo.

Yeah, Spongebob should have died after the movie. The same with the Simpsons, only that the Simpsons already died like in the 13th season or so.

Which should die? I don't know, I can't say anything because I don't watch these old shows that are still living.

Spongebob, Fairly Odd Parents, Scooby Doo, Total Drama, Family Guy, the Simpsons, and some others. But most of them are dead already...

Hmmm, as Emerald Starlight mentioned they lose there charm or popularity because there recycling the same ideas or there "Original" ideas are Oh not so original and they really should just let the show die off.

I think if they are obviously in need of a knife to the throat then let it happen.

Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents, but more than anything, I want Family Guy dead. That show is just dreadful to watch, and it's offensive just for the sake of it

I actually still like the Simpsons, though I think these days it should stick to movies and games

  • Fairly Oddparents

Spongebob Squareparents

Total Drama Island

Family Guy

American Dad (the show is hilarious, buuuuuut it's starting to go off into the same route Family Guy did.)

Robot Chicken (It's very funny, and I especially love the B*tch Pudding Special, but it's been around for how long?)

Simpsons (Shoud've stopped a little while ago, but now they're just stretching a classic..)

Teen Titans (Go! is just horrible. -.-)

Uncle Grandpa must die. >_>

Well there are several cartoons I could Spongebob I mean mention:

1. Family Guy has been going on for way to long now and has painful to watch for a very long time.

2. The Simpsons, despite having interesting animation, has not been good sense the movie.

3. Spongebob has not been good sense Season 4 and has been becoming more and more offensive.

4. Finally, Allan Gregory, despite only lasting about seven episodes, lasted way to long.

Seriously, that show made me want to start a shotgun tasting business.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I don't get the hype around that show.

On a more serious note, I don't know. I don't watch cartoons that often (Besides MLP and, more recently, Adventure Time).

I'm not sure — if I don't like a series anymore, I don't watch and therefore have no thought as to whether it should end.

However, longevity =/= that show turning to crap IF they actually sit down and try to be creative and original (or obviously if the whole story is huge and they need years to put it into animation).

But if I had to list one that I stumble upon, watch and then experience headache from:

• Teen Titans GO!

• Family Guy (I love American Dad, though — Family Guy is too hit-n-miss for me, so I want Seth McFarlane to come up with something new)

• Spongebob Squarepants (again, love the first few seasons, then not so much)

Just about any show that stays on the air to long has to go.  Simpsons is case and point.  You just can't stay on the air indefinitely as the work starts to stagnate.  Unfortunately, very few people have the integrity to step down to avoid having the work slowly deteriorate.  Every once in a while you get a Seinfeld or Calvin and Hobbes that will do this, too often though you get a Simpsons or a Peanuts (the author is dead, this is a hint to retire).

Spongebob is still going? Jesus Christ, I remember when it wasn't a kids show and had edgy references, it was good for a long time and then it became very corporate and clean and aimed at 5 year olds. Simpsons should have died after season 9, last I saw it, it was just a rip-off of family guy only not funny and basically it had become edgy and try hard. Cleveland show should have died before airing, let's see what else...I only watch anime these days so it's hard to say..

- Everything on Nickelodeon

- Adventure Time (but TBH, it should've died at the very beginning)

- EVERYTHING on the Disney Channel

- The Simpsons (how the hell did the recent seasons NOT kill it?)

Wait... Are you saying that Simpsons copied off Family Guy? Or that first Family Guy ripped off Simpsons and then Simpsons ripped off Family Guy?

Forgot to mention Johnny Test. This the one that should end the most because unlike Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents, which started out great, Johnny Test was only average at best at the start. And by 'at the start', I mean it's first season that aired on Kids WB. That season was okay but nothing special. Then Cartoon Network got it and the show became worse. It makes that first season look Oscar worthy.

Like many other people has said already, Johnny Test.

What a painful joke of a show. Such a load of trash.

Pretty sure he's saying that nowadays Simpsons is ripping off of Family Guy.

I just checked the TV Guide, and the usual FOX Sunday night line-up has been replaced by a movie. I don't even remember what movie it was. I was too shocked to remember it. That lineup was sacred.

I remember Saturday Morning cartoons too. They're gone. Replaced with crap. There are more infomercials moving into place like a cancerous growth that doesn't give a flying fish.
