Do you mean something like how vampires can't stand it? if yes, then no, while kobolds do prefer cooler and more humid environment, sun doesn't harm them in any special way, they may feel bit dry, but that's all. 

Though it will most likely take a while for the two siblings to get used to how bright and hot the sun is since they haven't seen direct sunlight, like ever, because they have lived in constant night and have  never been even close to the edge of the Solar Empire. 

They also will be bit dehydrated (as well as malnourished and exhausted) in the start so that may get worse if they hang out in the sun too long.

I don't really have any preference for the location, though ponyville would most likely have the warmest welcome, and would probably be easiest for the siblings to digest at first, it being a town and not a huge city (they don't have big cities in their world (at their "side"), considering they lived in a forest). Canterlot would also work, though the guard-presence may make them bit nervous, and we would need to explain why it takes hours for anyone to arrive there, since if something appeared next to the capital, certainly guards would go to check it out.

For are in general, only 2 things matter. 1. There's sunlight 2. it's partly underground or otherwise situated in a way that it makes sense for there to be rubble without the roof being open way out.

And companion, only thing is that they have to be nice enough and not seem like a threat, because if you look at it from Trox's point of view, he's a rebel soldier carrying his unconscious sister, so any indication of threat would get a strong reaction from him....or well, as strong he could manage, he would probably just pass out if he tried to fight.

the species of the companion doesn't matter as their world is a melting pot of creatures due to the two princesses? Queens? Emperors? ruling over everything.

It were just a matter of adjustment, not actual pain, or constant light issues, as some bat ponies have. :)

As for location... I'm thinking going with the desert area would work the best. The magic nullifying gem floating over the area, outside f the temple, could explain why their trip ended there, rather than continue to hammer on, and Onache is working in going through and make some tunnels in the rockbed beneath the sand, to make for some proper changeling accommodation, for her eventual new brood. She just started, so they could well be just at the top, situated near the entrance to the basement, beneath the temple. She have been wandering around checking up on things recently, so she would return to find this, and would help on clearing the rubble out herself too. Out of both curiosity, and frankly, because she needs that space, and the partial tunnel is in the way.

She wouldn't be the most hugs and kisses being though, but she needs to learn to be nicer as well, as part of her arrangement. Also, to try and get in favorably with the ponies, so there'd be room for growth from all of them. She'd be good at problem solving too, due to her specialty in subtle mind altering.

If they are not hostile, she'd be neutral, and assist them. Which might be better than overwhelming kindness, no? That might trigger as being a trap for him.

if genuine concern and positivity is what they'd need, I'd suggest Benny and Circle Pop, finding them whilst having a walk through the forest, and stumbling over a weird looking blockage in a cave. It'd leave you with an eventually link to Canterlot, via Benny, and the two of them are pretty much harmless. Unless they try and hurt Pop. Benny does not normally try and torch others, but he have limits.

On first sight, both options would look kind. Onache looks like a reformed changeling, which are quite a bit more bright and happy than the regular ones, and Pop is pretty much the stereotypical smiling, joyful pony. Even smells like sweets, she does.

And Benny... He's about as threatening as a glass of milk. :)

It also raises a question though, how powerful is it? because in the backstory it is stated that the siblings use their magic to get out of the prison (since they aren't physically strong being so small), so if their magic is blocked by other source, they can't really do that. But then again, the solution could be technological, because the prison was made to hold magical beings, would it be a far fetched idea that it has also anti-anti-magic protections? that system still working could be explained by it being fueled by some kind of magic or fuel that hasn't yet run out.

It's true that overwhelming kindness could trigger the warning bells so to speak, but then again, it's not like everyone is ruthless force of evil in their world, the normal citizens are still kind to each other, maybe even more so than in this Equestria since they all are suffering equally.:twi:

 

Thinking about it, I'd say that if we can figure out a solution for the magic nullifying problem, Onache would be more interesting start, mostly because with her would immediately be things that would make Trox ask questions, mostly because she's a changeling, and a queen, the siblings don't know what changelings are and someone who isn't one of the alicorn sisters being queen, or any kind of ruler in that matter,  is unheard of (assuming of course that she introduces herself as the queen.)

Trox isn't going to harm anyone if nobody gives a reason to, his main priority will be to make sure his sister is aright. (and Sheska can't harm anyone because she's unconscious)

Far as what the RP'er who set this whole thing there to begin with seemed to hint at, it doesn't function inside the temple itself. Just the surrounding area, to keep it secure from troublemakers. I do have planned that in time, it will be destroyed, or changed, but not had a lot to do with Onache yet, so not had much of a way to deal with things, such as that. :) I figure if they end up at the top end of the tunnel, their magic is fine.

Onache does not know much about technology, so she'd basically approach it like anything else: With the intent to destroy. If she hears sounds beneath, she'd just aim to make a hole in it, and get a better view of whom may lie beneath. She were a queen of a nomad hive, living in a desert before her original hive was taken over. They were pretty low tech, and anything from around a toaster and beyond, is beyond what she's used to deal with. Sure she invaded areas to feast on ponies, but rarely personally. She had a hive for that, and didn't much care of the possessions the ponies had. Playthings of her food and all that.

Unconsciousness is a convenient excuse. Surely she'd be able to... I dunno, gnaw an ankle or something. :3 Truly fierce.

Anyway, sounds like we're going with the queen then. I'll include a setup in the RP response tomorrow then, and we'll see how it goes. Don't expect a massive one though. I have 13 to respond to tomorrow, so it will likely be more middling. We'll see though, when time comes. :) And yes, I'll remember the letter to Nada thing. We'll get her towards a holding position soon.

There won't be any sounds but the technology in there is far beyond the highest tech in this Equestria, so even if she did know about technology, this one would go over her head :twi:

Welp, I tried a thing!

I have come here to say that and also to note that Eventide’s also kinda prone to chest tightness and light-headedness, since I was thinking about what kind of health complications one of her friends might have and then was like “oh yeah I do struggle with the occasional thing, I can probably yeet that at Eventide because she’s pretty much supposed to be me but different (and also because she’s a hybrid which isn’t as fun as it sounds)”

Speeeeaking of her friends, is it cool if I throw them in here to make sure they’re okay in case they ever come up in-RP? And also because you’re really good at critiquing my OCs and giving me ideas

I don't know. I opened a tear in time and space, so a dimensional rift, essentially. Scientists, you know? :P He's trying to fix it, but it might still be registered. I figured that would be as good of a que for you to enter as any.

Sounds interesting. Potentially something that'd cause her anxiety at times, as I can't imagine it being a comforting thing, to feel a tightening of the chest. Might potentially (in her case) be an issue with breath, which could play into her singing in some fashion? A minor chain on her potential to influence via song, if you will. Sets a sort of time limit, before she naturally passes out from the lack of oxygen to her system. Nothing cruel like a minute though. More like 10 minutes or above, I'd say. Would still allow for plenty of songs, but full scale influencing would be limited in scale. Just a thought off the top of my head anyway. :)

As for your friends, sure, spread the love. The more the merrier, after all. :D Just remember they have to be cleared in the OOC here, before the actual RP. A few people every rare while, seems to miss that part. :)

Oh hey there, another blast from the past. :D

Cute new picture of Ginger, though we'd probably need a whole new setting for her if it were. Now, you mention her being a student at a theater college? That'd likely require her to also go out and have some lessons, or internships at theaters, yes? Because you see, I have this lovely hive of performer changelings in Las Pegasus, who actually owns a theater, and this seems just about perfect for her. :) No worries, they're harmless. Quite literally. They don't fight. At best they try to support their allies, or confuse enemies with illusions and regular changeling form changes, but they are pacifists, and quite friendly. They'd be more than happy to take in another of their kin - even a half breed - that would want to become a performer.

Though I do have to ask: Does Ginger still own her little pupper from the forest? Just trying to be aware if I should include that one in things. :) She seemed to like her pet, once upon a time.

...Pretty sure I am remembering the right char here at least, though in case I am not, sorry. :)

To Queen Cheshire, you don't need to be on stage, to be a performer. Everyone who takes part in putting up the show, is equally as important in her eyes. From costume and set designers, to light technicians, to actual performers. They all play a part in making the show go on. :)

And alright, I'll keep Meiko in mind then. ^^

- She’s a hippogriff-pegasus hybrid, which is part of the reason why she sticks with Eventide, haha.

- She is smol, and can easily be confused for somepony years younger than she is. Eventide is a little shorter than the average mare, and Tide is half a head shorter than her

- Her skin is sensitive to sunlight and she’s probably prone to skin cancer

- She also wears sunglasses but mostly just ‘cause they’re cool

- She has a few allergies, including a lethal peanut allergy

- She’s also kind of a germaphobe 

- But she’s not afraid to handle critters of all kinds as long as she washes her hooves afterwards

- She’s chill and open to people but get on her bad side and you’re dead

- She could probably amass an army of critters and fling them at you

- Watch her trek through the Everfree Forest for the heck of it

- She kinda simultaneously gets the best and worst of everything, so she seems really cool but like half of her life is awesome and the other half is suck

- Sometimes she has really cool dreams but she often has intense and sometimes gory nightmares, for example

- oop that’s a lot of bullet points

- She’s a draconequus who... probably spontaneously popped into existence one day and was like “welp, guess I’m here now”

- The wing shown on the left is dorsal and the one on the right is ventral, I forgot to denote that (like I did for Tide)

- The cutie mark shown is the one she takes on in her pegasus disguise, which she can go into for a limited amount of time (I’m not sure how long exactly)

- She’s not nearly as powerful as Discord, mostly using unicorn-like magic and occasionally making small and often not extremely helpful or significant things pop into existence, like mints and potted plants (half the time she doesn’t really even have a choice as of what she summons, as sometimes it’s just random)

- She wears a variety of bracelets and anklets

- She is the random

- She might also be a bit meta and extremely low-key peer through the fourth wall

- Usually docile but has the potential to be chaotic

- She likes pi

- She also likes pie

- idk what else

- She exists

You can reply if it is, though keep in mind, that if anything comes out of that gate (I am still not certain if I am actually bringing in something), that will be up to me. And frankly I have another idea for consequences from that thing, down the line. Not much need to have anything emerge. It'll just get cluttered, for this early on.

And I will respond tomorrow. I write every second day, since frankly, I need to breathe a little, and all those replies take a lot of time. :)
