as do I. Espesially in the way of pony Sunny merch. My collection's looking a bit scarce, since I trashed my CelestillumiNeighty and Twilchemy plushes, POP'S! AND Funko figures. Need Sunny to pad it out again. 5 Official horse toys of her in all of existance is NOT enough

 

 

 

Also....are there others who want Sunny to become an Alicorn, but decline the Princess position, if ever she returns To Equestria?

 

Or remain a unicorn (at least until unicorn pony Funko of her is made)?

They're both top tier outfits, so you really can't go wrong with either one. :3 I have a slight preference for her new outfit because it's beautiful but still retains her "bad girl" image to a degree. Her new boots are just too cool. I also like the fact that her legs are covered this time. It makes for a more unique look than the other mane girls.

 

So is anyone else cautiously optimistic about Sunset Shimmer's future? We know she'll be in the next Equestria Girls movie and is almost undoubtedly the mane star, but she may end up in Friendship is Magic one day too. The following Q&As took place at this year's San Diego Comic Con:

 

Q: If Sunset Shimmer was an element of harmony, what would she be?

A: It has been discussed before. Meghan thinks its empathy.

 

Q: Are we going to run into the original sunset shimmer human?

A: Perhaps

 

Q: Will they bring Sunset Shimmer back into the pony world?

A: They have played around with the idea. Maybe!

 

That's lot of "thinking/talking about it" and "maybe" replies! I'd like to think the writers have some plans for the character, but I can never be too sure. Let's just stay hopeful I guess. ^^

Recently received my ultimate diagnosis: I have a thing for villains-turned-permanently-good! There is no way I can explain this. It's just that... when I see a character, which, for a substantial amount of time, demonstrated nothing but bad/villainous/evil behavior, at certain point decides to trade sides of the Force (or turn out to be an ally all along) I... I can't tell you how glad I am to see them as positive character.

 

Sweet Luna, was that a long sentence.

 

Anyway, when I saw first EG movie, I could only dislike Sunset. For obvious reasons: being mean to others, belief in being superior to everyone else, manipulating, etc. Of course I expected her to be taught a lesson, what did happen. We all know that she became remorseful of her actions and wanted to change. But still I wasn't sure if that was true.

 

And then Rainbow Rocks happened.

 

I'll be honest with you: the main reason, that drove me into watching it was the question. Did Sunset turn good after all? And SWEET CRUNCHY OATS was I satisfied with the answer. She turned good. She turned GOOD! SUNNY TURNED GOOD!!!

 

I SOO forgive you! Why should we be enemies, when we can be good good friends!  Please stay this way.

Sunset Shimmer's MUCH better now than she was in the first movie.

Her character growth has been wonderful thanks to her quest for redemption in Rainbow Rocks. Needless to say, I'm beyond excited to see Sunny again and the next chapter of her adventures. I hope she will be singing again!

IF let's say she is revealed to wield a mysterious 7th element in either series, (and let's not get into the hows and whys of that here) what do you think her element would or should be? Forgiveness seems to be the popular idea among the fandom, but I've also seen redemption, humility, and balance come up. I personally like forgiveness the best of the lot, because it's the only one that seems like an essential component to a good friendship - in other words, forgiveness is something you'd want your bestie to have, much like you'd want a friend who is generous, loyal, honest, kind, and humorous. The other three don't fit the bill as much, if you ask me. Meghan McCarthy likes the idea of empathy, which I can also get behind for the same reason. I think that's something that Sunset possesses already, whereas she'd need to sort of be molded into the forgiveness role since we haven't really seen her display much of that yet, though I can see it fitting just fine. However, empathy might not be as easily understood by the target audience, whereas forgiveness is easier to understand. Rarity was intended to be inspiration but was changed to generosity because the former was thought to be harder for kids to understand, if I'm not mistaken.

 

Maybe some of you can think of a better element for her? What would you want her to be? I'm curious to see the answers. Have more Sunset while we're at it. :3

That's actually a really perfect proposition, and one I'll gladly accept. It's now my headcanon until the series says otherwise.

Does anyone else find themselves wondering which Eeveelution Sunset Shimmer might have (if you're a fan of both MLP and Pokemon)? I really think Sunny might have Umbreon, if Twilight had Espeon, since they're both opposites. But Sunny having a Flareon would seem more compatible......

Even so. Flareon does have a chance to shine. It's nice that even underdogs can take the spotlight and make Trainers proud.

 

Anyway, Flareon suits better for Sunset Shimmer in my tastes.
