About the Rainbooms While some may think it's out of character for Rainbow Dash to get egotistical about this being her band when it's THEIR band, don't forget that this is Human Rainbow Dash who hadn't yet gone through the same character development as Pony Rainbow Dash. While there were arguments among the band throughout, that is perfectly natural. As Twilight learned from Discord, "Friendship isn't easy, but it's worth fighting for!"They may not have technically won the Battle of the Bands, but the Rainbooms won the more important battle: the battle to save Canterlot High! About Flash Sentry First of all, I like Flash Sentry and would want to be friends with him. In fact, my friend that saw the premiere with me said Flash was his favorite character from the first EG film. Especially, because like Flash, my friend is a guitarist.Although Flash doesn't get much character development in this film, he does get Woobie points from me because of what the Dazzlings' spell did to him and almost everyone else in the school; putting them under a hate plague. At film's start, he was encouraging toward the Rainbooms and was very glad to see Twilight return to apparently join the musical showcase-turned battle of the bands . But then after the Dazzling's spell, he turned into a total jerkass! He was the one to shout that Sunset has (apparently) gone to back to being the "bad girl we love to hate"! He even hurt the feelings of the one he's crushing on (Twilight); believing she's in this to beat him in the competition! Good thing his band never went against the Rainbooms; I don't think poor Twilight could have taken it! I was so relieved when the Dazzlings were defeated and he was free of being a jerkass!Also the fact that Flash and Sunset used to be together explains where Sunset's hidden guitar skills came from. Flash must have taught her everything he knew! While I know some fans still hate this guy, I still believe in him and hope he'll remain a nice guy for a long time! About the other characters I failed to mention Trixie had a bigger role in here than in the last film as the band going up against the Rainbooms in the semi-finals.Her song, Tricks Up my Sleeve, really fits her personality. Of course, she was also manipulated by the Dazzlings to trap our heroes right where they wanted them.Surprisingly, when Maud Pie made her cameo in the middle of the film, the whole theater I was watching it with my friend were laughing! On that note, my friend didn't see the episode Maud Pie before this movie and so, said this scene was the only thing that bothered him. I made sure to show him the episode when we got afterward, but I digress. About the opening and closing credits The opening credits look a silhouette recap of the first film and I actually heard the audience cheer and clapped along with the song! I thought it was a great way to start things up! Compared to the closing credits of the first EG film, the closing credits were an improvement! While EG1 had the standard scrolling upwards credit with a closing pop song (and a surprise apperence of Human Derpy dancing with a muffin to the screaming cheers of Bronies who stuck around), the credits in RR had much more! First, an epilouge that showed the school is getting along with Sunset at last. Secondly, some amazing artwork of the characters that looked like it came out of anime. Also, there was a nice closing song playing throughout!But the biggest surprise came after the credits finished rolling! Data was placed up on a board full of stuff relating to Canterlot High. A very familiar-looking person in a lab coat and glasses spoke to her pet dog, "Spike, there is something strange going on at the school!" Human Twilight Sparkle native to this world, she appears at last! I don't care if it is in another upcoming film or in something fan-made, but someone PLEASE give this girl a story to witness! That should be it! In Short, this film was so worth the wait, and I will get it on blu-ray! And sadly it’s not got a UK release that I know of, so I saw it filmed from the back of a cinema on YouTube (link now deleted). Despite thinking it looked bad, I ended up really enjoying it and having another fun adventure with the girls. I loved the new Sunset Shimmer and how nice she is, I also liked a lot how she is in the place of Twilight now, writing to a princess about what she learns about friendship... I loved that "Dear Princess Twilight" dialogue, darn it, it was beautiful in my opinion. Also, can't wait to see what the Twilight of human world will do when she shows up... There was a GIGANTIC chronological error in the film! The film opens with the Dazzlings witnessing the big magic rainbow double helix that defeated the evil Sunset Shimmer. They head on over to the school and enter as new students so they can suck up Equestrian magic. The now nice Sunset senses something odd about them. She sends a message to Princess Twilight. The anthro mane six hang out waiting for Twilight to appear through the portal. Twilight on her end builds a machine because SCIENCE! She and Spike cross over. It is implied building her machine took hours since everyone was just hanging around being bored. Now, the events of "Equestria Girls" took place right after "Magical Mystery Cure". Stuff happens, and then a full season later Twilight gets her own castle and the title of Princess of Friendship. Spike tells the anthro mane six about Twilight's title and castle. The duration of time between the two worlds has been established as synchronized in Equestria Girls and also "Rainbow Rocks". There is no loss or gain to those crossing over in either direction. Now tell me. Why did it take the Dazzlings so damn long to make their way to the high school that seemed to be just over the hills from the view they had of the rainbow helix? Even if they crawled, it would have only taken a day or so! Another question. Where does Sunny live? That actually bothers me. She has nice clothes and everything. How does she support herself? Did she take over her doppelgangers life? Will her friends be angry if they found out the EVIL Sunset Shimmer murdered her alternate in the human world? Adorkable 2,737 October 1, 2014 Share October 1, 2014 Well, I went to see the movie on its premiere date, and I have to say it's more than I expected. I knew it would be great, but not that great. First off, I just want to point out how incredible the soundtrack was. There wasn't a song in the movie I didn't enjoy, I already have the full album downloaded. Also, the fact that Lyra has hands in this movie only makes it 20% cooler. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the gasp that came upon the audience when Octavia actually spoke, I don't think anyone was expecting that. Does anyone know who voiced her, by the way? Anyways, I think fans will get a bigger kick of this movie than the first one, since the world and characters have already been established, they could write a better story this time, not that I had anything against the first one. Oh! What about the after credits scene? Equestria High Twilight, anyone? I was wondering how they would and will pull that off. She actually played a saw (and I mean actually hold the saw like upright cello and trying to play it with a bow. Heh, reminds me of a line from High School Musical when one student claims he plays the cello, his friend asked what is it. The first guy mimes it; the friend guesses "A SAW?"; the student corrects "No, it's like a giant violin!") You do realize that playing on saws is a real thing, right? My theory using MLP Annual 2013 story "Fall of Sunset Shimmer" MLP seasons 1-4 and Equestria Girls, and Rainbow Rocks Novel Sunset Shimmer was Celestia student, while studying she was asked for lunch by the other ponies, which she declined, in the background at that part, we see Filly Twilight playing with Magic with Shinning Armor and Candace, days later Sunset was angry with Celestia about the mirror and storms off and enters it entering the human world about days after human mane 5 became friends (speculating since about 30 moons came which many believed its about 2 1/2 years in human time,) she breaks them up during their sophmore or junior year. Time passes in equestria and Twilight is now celestia's student and the events of MLP season 1-3 occurs, days after season 3 finale and Twilight coronation, the mane 6 visits Crystal empire and events of Equestria Girls begins, Sunset comes back and steals Twilight's crown to use it in human world during the fall formal. After the issue was resolved and twilight gets her crown back and bring the mane 5 human counterparts to be friends again, the dazzlings see the equestria rainbow magic from another town, and twilight goes back to equestria. Season 4 begins and is revealed that the events of 4 seasons took about 1 year, both seaon 1 and 4 premier's having the sun summer celebration. Back at the Human world about 5 months later, (Using US time frame of the seasons, (using October for Fall Formal and March for spring fling) Rainbow Rocks Prequel Novel begins, which mentions Spring Fling Talent Show and about days later, Rainbow Rocks events happened, which sometime after getting Twilight's castle after season 4 finale (Im guessing days after getting adjusted to its layout). As for the whole what took the dazzlings so long to get to CHS based on the distance. I will agree with Andaasonsan they must have spent alot of time planning. Also after traveling from one town to another, taking them about a day or so, unless the rainbow magic is so big you can see it for miles away. The answer is spoiler-covered because it involves the ending of RR. Both Sunset and Discord were reformed by Twilight and Fluttershy, respectively. Fluttershy reformed Discord by treating him as a friend, getting him to realize that friendship was actually important to him and something that, once he had, he didn't want to lose.When Twilight defeated the cruel and dishonest Sunset, this conversation happened:Twilight: The magic of friendship doesn't just exist in Equestria, it's everywhere. You can seek it out. Or you can forever be alone. The choice is yours.Sunset: But all I've ever done since being here is drive everyone apart. I don't know the first thing about Friendship.(Twilight offers her hands and gestures to the Humane 5)Twilight: I bet they can teach you. See? Plus at the end of Rainbow Rocks, Sunset starts writing to Twilight for advice. And what did we learn from halfway through Season 4 about Discord. He and Fluttershy have been writing each other letters!
