Which headcanon do you dislike?

Don't know if that really counts as a headcanon since the writers confirmed that themselves in an interview.

 

Just as the Nuke87654 said, we'll need an actual source for that. If you're referring to the interview involving Lauren Faust, then you should realize that the storyline wasn't considered canon.

 

 

In an August 2012 summary of an interview with Lauren Faust, it is revealed that Scootaloo was originally intended to be handicapped and would never be able to learn to fly. Faust had conceived a story playing out over three episodes during the first two seasons, during which Scootaloo would learn that her worth is defined by her talents and not by what she cannot do. However, this storyline was evidently dropped.^[5]

I consider this a wide-spread headcanon because it has never been suggested in the show but it really irks me when people call Pinkie's dark side Pinkamena like they're separate characters.

Hm, I haven't watched that particular episode so I can't say anything about that one

 

I can only hope the writers would just solve this one hurdle and decide to either ground her for life or flying freely rather than limbo state that is hovering like a drunk dragonfly

Also, that whole Crysilis x Fluffle Puff thing. I think it's supposed to be for comedy but I don't find it funny. It just feels like the same material for Lyra x Bon Bon and Vynl x Octavia but even more bizarre since they aren't even of the same species

People do realize shipping and Head canon are not the same thing right? I mean Shipping can become head canon if there is enough canon evidence to support it but shipping on its own is a different thing. 

 

ANYWAY, onto the topic. 

 

I don't like the head canon that says "Pinkie was getting back at Fluttershy in filli Vinilli for what she did in putting your hoof down" and similar petty drivel like that. They are friends who are occasionally thoughtless with one another's feelings, not waiting for their moment to get back at someone. If someone holds such a head canon as serious then that says something about who they are. In other words I don't like the "worst pony" nonsense.

Celestia being a troll or just lazy by dumping a task on Twilight always irked me. Then why does she do the 'troll-esqe' things that she does, well who better than the princess herself to explain it to you:

As much as I'd like Starswirl the Bearded in the comics, his portrayal was definitely not what the show had implied him to be and it only created more problems because of it besides continuity issues.

This. It's made clear in the show that Chrysalis is evil. I don't really like seeing obviously evil characters as tragic figures too.

There's not much depth to the character itself. One could say that anything could be possible with her. Everyone has a reason for being evil.

Except Discord... Discord just likes evil. 

Let me ask you a few questions:
If Daring was a Stallion and Rd acted like that and made those iconic faces would you say she was attracted?
If Daring asked out Rd, do you think she would say no?
Or do you think it would be more like "OmigoshomogoshomiGOSH! "

We both know the answers here.

You mean to tell me you haven't seen fanboys drooling all over female figures or fangirls doing the same to male figures? Why is adoration often mistaken as attraction?

No... Rainbow Dash is NOT attracted to Daring Do.

Lets see where does the list start. Its not so much "Headcannon" as it is fandom nonsense.

First "Time turner is the doctor" Please I can take some crossovers but that is a bit too much for me.

Vynal and Octavia, Derpy and muffins, Fluttershy and Discord, Alicorn oc's, Oc's. The list goes on and on.

Yeah, most of those recurring fandom headcanons got absurd. Allow me to ad Dinky is Derpy's daughter, Tyrestia, and the list goes on

Are we forgetting that Nightmare Moon was a monstrous entity that played on Luna's jealousy and possessed her and then went on to try and kill the world via eternal night?

I'd say that the Dinky is Derpy's Kid headcanon has already been debunked by numerous background events suggesting that Dinky's parents are Golden Harvest/Carrot Top and Grey Unicorn Stallion with a Purple Mane and Scroll Cutie Mark Who's Name Escapes Me!

 

 

Plus she has a sister that would make Derpy way too old to enter the Young Flyer's Competition!

People are entitled to their head canon of course and I try to ignore things I don't agree with, but a few things do annoy me. Any type of conspiracy theory. Using shipping in canon discussion. Giving background ponies more importance than the canon would suggest. Giving too much import to comics, movies or books. They can support and help flesh out canon, but can't be used to generate new canon.

I like headcanons that analyse and build on the setting, the way the world works, the way magic works, stuff like that.

 

But I kinda think reading relationships into background ponies who barely, if ever, happen to look in each other's direction is pretty pointless. And I don't like when people make assumptions about anypony's sexuality, because making assumptions about anyone else's sexuality is a crappy thing to do. So yeah, those kind of headcanons I'm just not into.
