Music from your country.

Very simple.  -_-

Simply post TWO samples (YouTube, SoundCloud etc) of music from your country of origin. Note; this can be anything, and I mean anything. I'll go first:

Your turn!  :squee:

I live in the US, so that isn't anything too unique. xD So instead I'll go with my state.

David Gates, the lead singer of Bread, a soft rock group from the 70s, came from my state. They were the very best group of the soft rock genre, IMO, so I like that... Coming from a state that is usually all about country and country pop stars (*gags*), it's hard to be proud of music from my state. Lol.

And here is one I really love (children here are taught to sing it in music schools and it means alot to our people)

Anyways, it's all in portuguese, good luck trying to not laugh at it (I know I would :P)

Being from the great state of Washington, you have us to thank for all those highschool kids in torn wool sweaters and lumberjack shirts at the coffee shop.

Wow, I didn't know that song was finnish  :o Thats awesome

This song I'm about to post here has meant a lot to me for as long as I can remember, it's actually one of the first songs I heard in my life.

Only two? ONLY TWO? I CAN'T SUM UP THE AWESOMENESS OF BRAZILIAN MUSIC IN JUST TWO SONGS.

Well, gonna do an opposite one.

Here's "Beijinho no Ombro" by Valesca Popozuda. It's weird and I don't like it. But that's brazilian pop culture, so that's what's hip.

========================================

Okay. I'll cheat a little bit, but Legião Urbana deserves it. I mean, their music is just so meaningful. If you can, go look up the lyrics online. Actually, here's a list of some of them:

Pais e filhos

(This one will make you love your family like nothing else)

Faroeste Caboclo

(This is such a story)

Monte Castelo

(A song about real love and Biblical love)

Tempo Perdido (video link)

(This is a really good one)

(The name of the songs show up in yellow in the video.)

I'm from good old Australia. :3 You might recognise these well-known guys.

...aaand that's the only one I can think of. I don't listen to music all that often, so I can't think of another musician because of that. :P

I live in England so... You:

Either have 'awkward' music you can't resist dancing and singing along to:

Or, the classics that you used to have at Primary School Discos... (Y'all Brits people will know this) ;)

My favorite band hails from England, but I do know of some worthwhile American bands.

Iggy Azalea's Australian too. But she's America's problem now.
