Being capable of manually resizing images inside posts

As it stands, I don't know of any way to resize images on-site. In other words, if I want to place images in my post, and they're too big, I need to save them all to my computer and shrink them all there, then re-upload them. This is time-consuming and horribly inconvenient x) One of those annoying little things that keeps me from wanting to make those huge gaphic-detailed Show Discussion topics I use to make.

If Feld0 and/or Lavo could possibly look into this, I can't imagine it'd be terribly difficult to find a forum addition that allows you to grab the corners of embedded images and shrink them after you've embedded them into a post you're writing. I've seen it done on other message boards and sites that use forum-like setups.

* If there is in fact a way to do this already in place, please point it out to me~ :please:

This would be fantastic!!! Usually I have to go off site and resize the image on another site then paste it on my post. Such a hassle, and probably partly the reason I stay away from the fanclubs.

MLP Forums currently embeds a version of any attached image no larger than 600x400 into your post. I take it you find this to be too large?

If you find this size to be too big, a more elegant solution than adding a resize facility (which could make for an awful lot of inconsistency in the size of images people see around the site) would be to lower the maximum size of an embedded image.

What kind of size would you find better, CD?

We're talking about linked images here, not uploaded attachments :3 You link an image, it's stuck as the size it is, you can't shrink it at all. Sure we can download the image and use it as an attachment as well, but that's still inconvnient because we still end up having to save the image ourseves and manually upload it again. For the times where image linking is being used, having some control over size would be optimal.
