Help me name my OC!

So, back at the end of March of this year, I joined MLP Forums. I created a simple concept of my online pony persona using the Pony Creator on deviantArt.

 

(1st edition)

 

Since that day, I have not had an actual name for my pony-self. I've stuck to going by PE Brony this whole time for by myself and my avatar.

 

Throughout the summer he's had a couple new looks, based on Soarin's build and mane.

(2nd edition)

 

During the 2014 MLPF World Cup, I gave him two new outfits to fit the occasion as an official commentator for the Cup.

(3rd and 4th editions -current)

 

However, in all this time, he has never had a true name for himself. I've come up with a couple myself as of today, but was wondering if anypony had some suggestions or thoughts on the matter.

 

If you could, vote for one you think fits, OR post a different name you think might fit him better.

 

Bio: He's a PE teacher/coach. Major focuses are on soccer and volleyball. He loves encouraging everypony to participate, regardless of skill level, and loves teaching others the finer points of each sport. He's not an advocate for professional athletes/teams, but loves sports for the sports themselves and helping others come to love participating in them

 

Tell me what you think, even if you think my names are stupid! I can take critique just fine! No need to be mean about it though! haha

It's pretty concise isn't it? And it does sound like a name you'd hear among pegasi.

Nah, Swift Wind kind I popped out at me! I don't think he'd want Iron though, seeing as it sounds heavy and slow...and he is quick and agile!

"Doug" was actually a pun for "Dug" as a past-tense reference to a defensive dig in volleyball (and "Liberro" being a misspelling of "Libero", the defensive specialist on a volleyball team), but I see what you mean.

I like SureFire, it sounds nice and it easy to say, it's also felt like it would be a canon pony name.

 

Blue blitz for the same reason, but only because I couldn't decide.

Thanks! I had to go with something that went with orange, and blue has always looked good with it! It took me quite a few conceptual color schemes before I finally chose the white body. I had others with blue or orange coats, but they were just so...glaring I guess you would say.

Besides, I can't hear the name "Striker" without thinking of the bad guy in X-Men, whom I despise! Also, I prefer the attacking position to be called "Forward." I'm a bit traditional in that sense. haha

Thank you! I love orange, yes indeed! I felt that Wind Sprint suited him best (considering that sprints are part of many, many sports drills). We don't call RD "Lightning Cloud" or Pinkie Pie "Balloons" because their cutie mark.

Wind Sprint might work.  Other synonyms could be Head Wind, Cross Wind (Not too encouraging, perhaps a relative?), Dust Devil, Twister, or Cyclone.

 

I've always seen soccer players as Hispanic (so many of the great ones are).  Viento (wind) doesn't really work, but West Wind is Poniente which might be possible.

 

Also, on his background, is he older (for a pro athlete, in his 30s) & retired after a successful career (& how much success? The Top, a Contender? The Voice of Experience, because he has been there & done that), or young & coaching to make ends meet until his career takes off?
