gaming The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

Except that on this occasion in particular it's more than just Nintendo simply rehashing a game because they felt like it, this game has been in huge demand by the fans for several years now and THAT is why they've chosen to bring it to a new platform.

Nintendo are doing this because people showed that there was a great demand for this game to be remade after OoT was and Nintendo have responded by acknowledging the request and showing people that they do in fact pay a great deal of attention to the voices of their consumers. This Is perhaps the only time I would ever argue that you don't really have a right to be picky, especially if it's not something that you ever asked for, because virtually everyone else did and we're all happy that Nintendo have listened to us and given us what we want.

I think that's all that really needs to be said, I'm not saying you can't feel dissatisfied with what they are doing, but rather that you shouldn't bash the company for performing fan-service that's tailored specifically for the fans because of what WE asked for.

You act as if I didn't want a Majora's Mask remake, which is false.

Also, if you go back to my first post, you'll see quite clearly that I am blaming the fans for not demanding more from Nintendo, than I am blaming Nintendo themselves.

I can see that quite fine, but then you're simply criticising Nintendo for giving the majority of the fanbase precisely what they asked for. I understand that you're not completely satisfied with what you've seen from what is our very first look into the game, but there are a lot of people (myself included) who are, as we loved what they did with OoT3D and are very much looking forward to this too because of that.

Odds are that the game will look and run significantly better once it's finished and on our screens, but If you don't like it anyway, hey, that's fine, you're allowed to disagree with what anyone else thinks, no one's going to complain about that.

Even though it's only the very first insight we've been given into the look of the game, let alone the fact that it exists, it looks to me to be exactly what I as a fan both expected and wanted from it. And that's exactly my point, I'm not alone in this thought as I'm sure you must know, this is what we asked for, nothing more, nothing less.

@@AppleGearRising, I honestly have no idea what or why you are arguing with me, so I'm just going to end that here.

Anyway, I apologize for my claims earlier in this topic. After looking at comparison screenshots, the game is actually remade.

It doesn't change my opinion in the slightest, though. The environments and models are remade in such a way that they still look remarkably similar to the N64 version. Sometimes to such a point that the models aren't even really improved much, but just changed.

I just really fail to understand what the point is in such a remake... It just seems like a waste of time and effort, when they could have spent that time and effort making it actually take advantage of the hardware.

Good choice :) OoT has been my favorite game since it came out on the 64 , I never grow tired of it and I still own my 64 copy of it and am sure you will enjoy it

I missed out on it as i didn't own an N64 at the time. I've heard people say it's one of the greatest games of all time so i'm looking forward to it. :)

I'm definitely personally excited for this version of the game. I do love the original game, but it could definitely use a bit of an ironing out of some its issues like the frame rate and save system(which definitely needs to be overhauled a bit for handheld play, no ifs ands or buts about it). Can't wait! :)

Thanks for your reply, i'll go with Ocarina of Time for now as Majora's Mask won't come out until next Spring. I'll have plenty of time to play through it. I'll have a look at Link between worlds.

If you want to go old-school, the original Legend of Zelda and the 3 Gameboy Zeldas(Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages) are all available on 3DS VC as well. All of them are really good games imo, especially if you like A Link Between Worlds and want more 2D Zelda. B)

So now I can look at Majora's soul-piercing eyes... In updated graphics... And in 3D... Yup, I'm gonna have nightmares...

Nightmare profecy aside, I'm looking forward to this! Should be fun to be able to play Majoras Mask on the fly. And if they do as they did with Ocarina of Time 3D, I'm sure there's going to be a few unique twists. Majoras Mask Master Quest anyone?

My brother tagged me in a post on Facebook asking me if it was real since he couldn't look at it because he was at work, and I confirmed it for him that it was. The N64 version was my childhood. It was back in 2000, when I was only 5 and when my parents still played video games. My whole family would sit and watch my dad play. I was probably scarred for the rest of my childhood because of that moon, but now it doesn't bother me anymore, except the fact they gave the moon an even creepier look in the 3D version, bringing back those memories. Other than that I am really looking forward to this game.

I do agree with Envy in the sense that they could beef up the visuals a bit more. It does kind of look like they just remodeled some things and improved the textures somewhat. Nintendo handhelds aren't known for visual prowess, but the 3DS not only can, but HAS DONE better. Then again, this game is filling up the 2015 release schedule and overall its easy, quick money for Nintendo.

However, I am greatly looking forward to this game!(When I get a 3DS that is.)

And like AppleGearRising said, happy or not we asked for this, we got it.

Oh my god, I am so excited for this :D Majora's Mask is my favorite Zelda game. I loved the tone of the game, the sidequests were really good, and the world isn't big and empty like OOT.

Not to mention the characters, you grow quite attached to them. It would be nice to have a greater time limit to see each character in different schedules  :)

Honestly, the visuals are enough for me. I only care that I have a chance to play it again, as I have no other access to the game. Also, I think you should take a look at this article. It makes some really good points, and you should really check it out.

I knew this was coming :3 They were teasing it everywhere; directs, games, E3, everywhere! Now, it's actually a real piece of software :3 I can't wait for it. I've barely played Majora's Mask at all. Now, it can be accessed to a wider amount of people.

Just hope they leave the stuff alone in this one, there wasn't anything wrong with it. You can improve graphically, but i'd leave the mechanics the same. The remake of OOT really lost it atmosphere as each song seemed to sound different, plus link still looks like a child as an adult in remakes. You can play with the n64 graphics, as this won't be a real issue.

As seen with games now, they suffer greatly. The classics will always have the better end of the deal.

The music in OOT3D was identical to the original. I have no idea what you are talking about...

Yes, but the vivid coloring didn't help with some of the creepy atmosphere in the forest temple or the shadow temple. Plus there wasn't any real need to make the colors brighter, it was enough as it was. This was a dark type of game, making it more vivid didn't help it any.

It wasn't about making the game darker, it was about lending a fresh atmosphere and experience to the game to help make it feel new.

Same with Majora's Mask. I personally love the aesthetic changes I've seen in both games and think it's good that they've managed to breathe new life into them.

i have a strong distaste for handhelds, as with this game should be on console because of the atmosphere it brought is wasted on a handheld... BUT now. i'm buying a new 3DS solely for this game. and maybe the fire emblems.....
