That's generalizing. Not all metal songs involve screaming and even fewer, from what I've heard, involves "screaming their heads off" as you put it. I've even heard a few suprisingly calm metal songs. Comparatively speaking, of course.

I have never liked Steve Miller Band or John Melloncamp.

 

All of Steve Miller Band's hits irritate me. 'The Joker' being the most irritating. 'Take The Money and Run' or whatever it is called is also really bad, and reminds me of John Melloncamp's sound. Which I have never really cared for. I think it turned into straight-up dislike when I heard what he was singing about. Lol.

 

There are a multitude of 80s pop/rock/'metal' bands that are really irritating, as well. However, I have not given them enough time of the day to even remember their names, so there you go.

Sorry, I meant the 80's version where they make soft rock/adult contemporary/wedding songs such as "You're the Inspiration" and "Will You Still Love Me" is the Chicago I don't like. Anyways, I absolutely hate Black Veil Brides. Their riffs are lame, the singer sounds like a Killswitch Engage wannabe, and the lyrics are whiny and dumb.
